Leaving water running continuously can cause wells to overheat and potentially burn out, making it essential to always turn off water when not in use to prevent damage to well systems.

Morrow’s Minis / Finishing TouchesAdded:
Oh, guys.
Well, in this uh episode of tomorrow's minis or Dan and Lou's mini ranch, Dan did something bad.
Dan did something that I would have thoroughly thoroughly been on my kids about.
Um, Dan did something that Dan doesn't like to do.
But I'll tell you this, Dan is getting getting pretty bad about this uh the older I get and uh with just more things going on.
Uh I [snorts] hope my kids don't watch this video.
Um, and I know y'all can't I know you guys can't keep a secret. No. No. Brown.
Brown. Brown. No. No. Watch out. I know you guys can't keep a secret, but uh this morning I get up. Me and L's getting up and she's getting ready to go uh get some stuff for for the day. And I'm getting ready to come out and do some work for the day.
And I go in the restroom and I'm brushing my teeth. Move. boy. Oh, let me feed these chickens. I'm brushing my teeth that hey, down and uh something's not right with the water pressure. I'm like, man, then it just hits me.
Dang, you left the water on.
Not just for a little while, but all night.
For a while.
And I have preached and preached and preached about leaving water on and turning water off and you're going to burn the well up because I've heard it from my dad my whole life. You're going to burn the well up. You're going to burn the well up. You got to turn off the water.
And uh so almost flooded almost flooded everybody.
[music] [music] Look at all this super super super clean water.
So I was filling up water troughs yesterday.
Don't look at this water trough. This water trough is getting dumped out and moved out to the pasture of the horses.
I was filling I'll get my feet wet this water trough yesterday for the goats and shy.
And while that was filling up, I went out here and started feeding.
Not only did I feed, I locked I locked the horses in the stalls uh while they were eating. Me and Lou run to Home Depot real quick. You'll see why here in a minute.
And uh I came home. I don't know why I didn't hear it cuz this morning I could hear it when I got out here. I could hear it just, you know, running because the hose is up in the air and the water's like falling down into the trough. You know, look how clean that water is.
Um you don't think it looks like that much water, but I don't know if you can see this. I'm going to zoom in.
All the way over there in the yard is water.
I don't know how many gallons that we possibly run last night.
Man, I don't want to walk through that right [laughter] now. Dang it.
Um, anyway, that is not something I'm very proud of.
Not something I'm very proud of cuz I'm the one that's always preaching.
Oh well.
Um, please D, don't get your feet wet. It's easy. Nope. They got wet. They got whipped already. Dang it.
Uh [sighs] I don't know. We got some work we're going to do out here today. So y'all hang around. It's going to be pretty cool what we're going to do. I think I may have to get my tractor back out here and fix LJ's mess he tore up on me yesterday.
Um oh boy.
Check my posts are all Oh, they all got tight. That's good. I was I put this little braces on here yesterday when I set these posts. They wouldn't sag until the concrete set up. So, looks like they all got good and tight.
So, we're going to come out here in a minute after I go get some breakfast.
We're going to do some work.
Fixed this little low spot yesterday.
got uh I brought dirt up here with my tractor, but my tractor wouldn't come underneath the little the the [clears throat] gables.
So, I called Buddy and he brought his tractor down real quick and and uh brought a little bit of dirt further up in here. Then we back drug it all out.
So, hopefully got all that taken care of. We're going to get our gate fixed up here today. And uh our little feed room kind of built.
I cannot believe that water's way out here in this yard. That is so crazy to me.
Golly. Cannot believe I did that.
All right, everybody. How'd everybody survive the night?
Everybody did good.
Betty Lou, good morning. Pretty boy.
Good morning.
Well, hello YouTube.
Where's Bob?
I need to know where Bob is at.
Is Bob with y'all?
Did Bob get eaten by a coyote last night?
I need to know.
Did y'all protect Bob?
Did y'all even see any coyotes last night?
Baby Lou, what do you think? Baby, you don't want to be over there with them big horses, do you? Huh? You don't want to be over there them big horses, do you? No way. Jose, y'all liking that pasture?
All righty.
I don't really like coming out too much, working when the grass is wet. getting my feet wet, but guess it'll be okay.
Hello, pretty boy.
Hello, pretty boy.
What's up? Oh, you've been rolling, pretty boy. You been rolling this morning, huh? You been rolling, my pretty boy, huh? How you been, buddy?
Huh? You doing okay?
Yes, you are. I guess you are doing good. Yes, you are with your little floppy neck.
Little floppy.
Uh Buffy, you're not going to come see daddy this morning?
Really?
That's so sad. Buffy Creek only wants to see me when there's treats.
is really the only time she wants to see me.
Um, boy, LJ is still following that same heer around.
He's still following that same heer.
Well, he's going his own way now.
All right, then. I'm going to go get breakfast and then I'll come back and see y'all out here in a minute.
All right, guys. So, today is the day.
I'm going to fix up these ends a little bit. I want to look and see how these are going to go. I want to block this block this wind a little bit.
Uh or block the rain maybe a little bit from these installs that are right on the end.
Man, that's going to be a very little gap right there. That's going to be good.
Um, so the only thing I need to do then really is I'm going to take this board off.
Maybe this board too. Maybe. Well, maybe just move this board up to here. Yeah, that's what I'm doing. Take that middle board out. Move it up to here. Then I can start running these.
Start running. That's what I'm going to do. Yeah. Okay. All right. We're good.
That's going to work out great. And then we're going to do the same thing on the other end.
Same thing on the other end.
And then we'll work on uh then we will work on whatever we're going to do here in our little feed room area.
So, I'm getting a little excited, man.
Getting a little bit excited about this one here. I like it.
I don't need to go to the very very very top, man. All right. Well, I may be wrong. I may I may have to have somebody help me hold this.
Come on.
See?
All right. That'll be okay. I can I can live with that. I think I think I can live with it. That's actually pretty level right there, too.
That's crazy.
which I can't leave it like that. I have my That's perfectly level.
This is when you always need an extra set of hands when nobody's here.
there.
That's going to be all we need for that right there.
I will put one other screw on the other end. That's going to work perfectly.
Time for me to get busy. Put y'all into some fast motion.
So guys, I'm the world's worst about not wearing my tool about not wearing my tool belts or my nail pouches, whatever. I have I have actually several of these things and I just got to the point where I don't hardly wear them anymore. Then I put these screws these screws are sharp, man. I put them in my pockets in my shorts and they are poking the heck out of me. So I'm sorry I had to stop and And I go get a nail pouch on so these screws will stop poking me.
I'll come back and get all my screws after I get all this going.
I want to try to pick these up and get that top line. Pretty level.
Y'all, what's that saying?
Uh, God is good all the time. All the time.
God is good.
I did not have to trim or shave this post. I started over here and I didn't measure. I started over here. I went all the way across and this one fit in here perfect. There's not even a gap in here.
It fit in there perfectly. I mean, I I tell you what, that's a blessing right there. That's a blessing. I don't have to rip nothing.
That is awesome, man. I think that looks good. That's going to keep these ends so much more uh unexposed to any kind of elements, um rain and stuff like that.
I don't think I need to come around the corner. uh that we're far enough in there that we don't need to come around a corner. I just right here on this end I wanted to do that. I'm gonna come down here this end next and do it.
Um thank God I'll be working in the shade down here. Hallelujah.
Yeah, I'm going to work in the shade down here. So, let me get my truck brought around here and uh get this end put on.
And uh it looks good, man. Even looks good from down here. The only problem is you can't from the back door now see into the stalls. You can come out on the deck of the porch, I guess, and see into the stalls. Um, but that's okay. It's not a big deal. I'd rather be protected from the weather than me spying on them all the time.
But, uh, yeah, really happy with the way that end turned out. I'm going to do this end, then we'll start working on some other stuff.
All right, man. Um, so that ends again there. This ends here.
Um, that's what we want to do here.
Man, this is looking good. I'm I'm happy about this. And this is going to take a little bit of sun off, too. Um, in the mornings, the afternoons it may not do too much for sun or the sun will be shining in the way I'm shining out, but that's not until late in the afternoons.
So, uh, all right. So, the last thing we got to do now is we've got to, uh, get this one here going. So, this stall right here in the middle is going to be our like little feed room cuz we're only going to have four horses over here for the time being.
Uh, Sh will come back. Uh, Pretty Boy will go with the goats.
And, uh, so that little middle stall is going to be kind of like our little feed room area.
So, we're going to we're going to completely do a picket wall here just like we did on these two ends. And then the the boards back here in the back that's going to become a little gate and we'll be able to keep feed in there, hay, uh so we don't have to tote everything every time we come out. But, uh what I'm really glad of, and I just harorrowed this thing literally yesterday, and the these animals, I mean, they are staying up here at these stalls. They're they're really liking it. They like that shelter and that cover and coming up here at night. I guess makes them feel secure, whatever.
But, uh, they're really digging this little barn. And I ain't going to lie, I'm kind of digging it, too. So, let's get this other part done. All right, guys. We are done for the day.
Um, we got our middle wall up here on our stall or on our feed room stall area.
Uh, I they think it's feed time or something. Uh, got the gates chained back right now. Everything's open.
Buffy's up here visit. All the horses are up here visiting except for Creek.
And Creek may be out because the Creek is out. Creek's in Jake's yard. Creek, get over here. I'll let the gate open. I wasn't paying attention.
Um, so that's on me, guys. I just cleaned up out here. Y'all just came out here and pooped right in the middle of everything. I literally just cleaned up out here. Uh, we got our gate done over here. Don't laugh at my gate, guys. Do not laugh at my gate. It's not It's not perfect, but uh it serves its purpose. Let me go over here and let me set this up. Come on, Creek.
Come on, CREEK. LET'S GO.
ANYWAY, um little gate opens.
It actually will, if we need it to open all the way back.
what we need it to, but it will just for whatever reason. Crank, come on.
And then uh push it up in here. And I got a chain right here that I need to put on it. Um we bought last night, a clip.
So I guess I can do that real quick. And then we got to get and start doing our cooking with Dan Lou today. So, my boy L coming out to look at it real quick and let me see what she thinks about it.
Matter of fact, I'm going to see what she thinks about it on camera. So, she wants to say something negative. She can't She's not going to find it. She's not going to say anything negative. Not Lou.
>> I was about to say, when do I ever >> No, Luke don't ever say nothing negative.
Nothing ever.
All right, baby. Come give us the tour.
Come look at my old gate first. That's what you're going to really laugh at probably more than anything.
But it works.
>> Oh, I think it's cute.
>> You think it's cute? Huh?
>> Yeah.
>> See if it's operational for you.
>> Why? But why is that right there?
>> So it can sit so it don't start sagging real bad.
>> So we'll have to fight with it every time. Did you even open it yet?
>> I know how it's going.
>> Did you even open it yet?
>> I know how it's going. No.
>> L said never said anything negative.
>> Fixing it go out.
>> Lou said anything. Don't Don't pick up.
Just pull the gate open, baby. Like normal gate.
Why you got to make it complicated?
Kick it in there. It's a tight fit.
There you go. It's the way we like it.
Tight fit, right?
>> Mhm.
>> Yeah. You don't like the gate, do you?
>> Yeah. No, you don't. You got something bad to say, baby. I know you do.
>> I don't.
>> You better not.
>> Betty Luke's going out now.
>> I know, baby. I know.
>> Betty Luke, come back.
>> I can't keep up with everything around here. It's too much when you leave gates open.
>> Yeah, extra work.
>> Well, finally the way it's supposed to be.
One horse per stall. Everybody eating.
Perfect.
Cows out there in the pasture eating cubes. Perfect.
Everybody's getting along. Perfect.
That's what it's supposed to be like.
Uh, pretty boy. I'll put your bucket up a little bit higher than I did everybody else's. I'm sorry. You want me move it down a little lower for you? Are you okay? You're probably okay, but I'm going to move it down a little bit lower for you anyway. Make it a little easier on you. Okay. There you go. Make it a little easier on you to see what's going on down there. All right. Did you already finish eating, girl? Or you spilt all yours because you being aggressive? Oh yeah. Oh, girl, you are cleaned out. But except for what you spilt on the ground being so aggressive.
You're really going to need to calm down is what you're going to need to do. But right now, I'm going to come over there and I'm going to get in that stall with you and love on you because that's the purpose of these stalls, especially when I have a gate that'll lock. I'm going to come spend some time with you. That's what I'm going to do.
I don't know. Well, I don't know if I really showed y'all, but got their feet out here now.
So, Hey, hey, hey.
I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going anywhere. Yeah. You're going to learn to be like everybody else in love. That's right. See, it ain't so bad, is it? It ain't so bad to be like everybody else in love. Huh? This is what we needed stalls for. Just like this. We can work with animals like you. Animals like you that are a little bit skittish, that want to be a little skittish.
I know it's hot.
I know it's hot.
I want you to be like Buffy where you won't just walk up to me out there.
You'll let me love on you anywhere, anywhere we go, out in the field or whatever. That's what I want. See, I ain't going to hurt you. No way. No way.
See, she gets a little jumpy up there around her head like that. It's okay.
Hey. Hey. Hey. Yeah. See, it's just love. This is just love. Yeah, that's what that is. It's just loving. It's just loving. It's just loving. Daddy, don't bite my hand. I don't trust you. I don't know you well enough yet, but I know I can hug you. I got horsefly on me. Or this what I want to be able to do you in the field like I do Buffy. I can do Buffy like this in the field.
I can do pretty boy like this in the field. Can't do betty like this. Byoo's kind of like you. Bailey is kind of like you. You don't You don't like me up there around your neck and head, do you?
For some reason. What's the deal, huh?
What's the deal? Huh? You got to get used to me. You got to get used to me.
Yeah, that's what you got to do. You got to get used to me.
You're a good girl. You are. You ready to go out? I can't let you out right now because you're going to go eat all the cows feed. I can't let you out right now. You're going to get all the cows food. I know you. I know you. And I ain't known you that long, but I know what you're going to do. So, you're going have to back up. You're going have to back You're have to back up around here.
Uh, I will take your bucket if you're done with it, though.
You know, she's never kicked at me. Not ever. I may make a liar out of myself right now. She kicked a fire out of me, but she's never tried to kick at me, and I'm very glad about that.
Maybe maybe we can get this to be our routine where everybody knows what to do. I know it's a lot cooler inside of here eating than it is outside. Anyway, I don't know if I showed y'all or not. We got our feed buckets brought over here. Uh that's the cow's food in the gray trash can. This is the horses feed and the white one.
Um, we'll probably bring some hay over here eventually at some point. I need to get my hay mangers built. Uh, I want to build hay mangers. I actually want to get They're kind of pricey, man. I think I can find them online a little bit cheaper, but uh, they make some for horses that are like individual like flakes.
You can put them in each stall, which would be cool. But I want to get a bigger hay manger out here um, for the cows.
to eat out of just for hay whenever I feed it. I don't feed hay regularly like every single day either because like today they've been eating grass all day long. There's no need to feed them hay, too. There's really no need to feed them grain. It just keeps them coming up in the afternoons. It keeps them more gentle. It keeps the uh or it gets the uh the new little heers out there used to coming up, used to being around, you know, humans and getting fed. Uh grain again, grain even for the horses is not necessary right now. I don't feed them a whole whole bunch either. Um but again, it's not necessary with all the grass that we have. Uh but it keeps them coming up. It keeps us being able to come out and mess with them. Uh so a little bit of grain is uh is not bad. We can't overfeed. Obviously, you don't want to overfeed. I done got in trouble for that once. So, [snorts] all right. I got to go turn my water off. I don't want to happen what happened this morning. I do got my new water or my big water out here, but it is running over. So, I need to go turn that off right now. All right, I'm going to let everybody out. Open the gates back up.
The cows are done eating. It don't take too long. About 15 20 minutes.
Cows are done.
I'm sure I'm sure that creek is going to go in everybody else's stall and make sure they're done.
How are y'all coming over here, buff?
Are y'all coming? Good.
You got a little bit more. Betty lo, how you doing? About done. All right.
I guess the uh chickens all finished up eating and have come out to scrge around at what they can get.
Oh no.
Look at that.
My water trough's busted.
Y'all see that coming out? All that water I just ran is going to be on the ground here within the next couple hours. Dad coming. How did that happen?
That thing's been holding water for as long as I can remember.
Well, God damn it, man.
These stupid troughs are junk.
God damn it.
Well, I guess I'll bring their little trough back out here and fill it back up.
They uh Oh, stupid.
So, I got my little CC pump, my little water pump. Instead of running new new water, since that water's already brand new, I'll just pump that water over into here.
Um, I'll probably go get me another one and pump it over here and do it, too. So that way, no sense just letting it all run out on the ground if it don't have to.
That makes me mad, man. I don't know how I'm moving that thing. Just turning it over, I guess, flipping the water old water out of it. I emptied almost all the water out of it. Didn't have 30 gallons left in the bottom when I flipped it over. But I guess that little twist on it, they don't make things like they used to.
