Democratic elections require ensuring all eligible citizens can vote, including women, people with disabilities, pregnant mothers, and elderly individuals, with proper voter education and facilitation; modern technology enhances election integrity by enabling rapid information dissemination and timely responses to issues, while high voter turnout across all demographics indicates a healthy democratic process.

Well, the the process we've been we've been meeting since we came.
We've met civil society organizations, we've met women organizations, we met youth organizations, we've met NEBE, we've met the elect I mean the Human Rights Commission, and all of them have told us that there has been so much progress since elections started in this country.
And for us as the Africans, this is what we would like to see.
Progress when elections are in place.
And what does that mean? Meaning that as much as possible all the citizens of Ethiopia are given the chance to vote given the circumstances.
Secondly that the people have been uh mobilized to understand why they must vote. Thirdly to make sure that the people who are going to facilitate them to vote have been trained. In other words, people must go out there and teach the people right from the villages, different levels of education, different communities, why they must vote, and also showing them how they would be expected to vote. We also want to be sure that all men and women who are eligible to vote do vote.
Otherwise, if only the men vote, then there's no democracy. If the people with disabilities are not facilitated to vote, then there's no democracy. If when they are going to vote, the mothers who are pregnant and with babies and the older people and those who are lame or have a disability are not facilitated to vote, we believe that there is a there is a what would I call it? They have been disenfranchised in one way or another. So, after those meetings and comparing to experiences in other countries, we see that Ethiopia has gone very far. Now, we are also talking about a modern times, modern times. And I want to tell you because I'm an election observer for many years in many countries.
Ethiopia is on top with respect to using modern technology.
Because now technology brings in speed of information, speed of taking action.
Otherwise, without information technology, we wouldn't be able to to correct what is reported in the morning and by the time you get to know it, the election time is over.
I'm I'm also with my colleague, the former speaker of the the parliament of Djibouti. He's my deputy and he has been observing in other parts of of Addis Ababa. I've been observing in other parts of Addis Ababa. We have deployed to all the region and we are we've also met other observer groups and we are really saying Ethiopia Thank you. And to say to the young people, when we see them monitoring what's going on, young people of Ethiopia coming up with the apps necessary to do this work, monitoring the elections, we have a lot to learn from you. And we believe that Africa is going to go very far when our young people participate in elections.
So, this is what we can say. It is a a work in progress because I have been in Ethiopia even before the democratic processes started. So, I have seen the city. I have seen the the the the way of life of the people. I have seen how the standards of living have come up across all sectors and I believe that Ethiopia has really reasserted its position as the capital city of the African continent. So, good luck to you young people. We we really depend on you to move us forward.
>> One question. So, is there any >> Because we've been given we know what the law says.
We know what the regulations are. We have not observed any irregularity.
There's still time, but as of now we haven't seen. Only what we have seen is not an irregularity. It is a normal thing. Like when the opening starts, people are slow.
But the irregularity I can tell you because I've observed in other countries, the lines are as people go to the voting place by by by 6:00.
So, in other countries that would be irregular and the the youth are in the lines.
The women are in the lines. The older people are in the lines. Women with babies on their on their back are in the lines. So, Ethiopia has always had a very high turnout in its elections. So, we have to learn from you how we can also get other people get their citizens to turn up in big numbers.
