3 WW CHARGED with Unaliving 7-Year-Black Girl Who Was in Their Custody

[00:00:03]And my answer coming to you. It is Friday Eve. We're going to get right into this conversation. Very important conversation. Very sad news. Um really really troubling. And we're going to talk about like I said in the thumbnail caption. I'm saying who failed this little girl. So, let's just talk about this beautiful little 7-year-old girl. Her name is Jordan Duncan.

[00:00:31]Who uh was under the care of a woman by name of Emily Kelly.

[00:00:37]And Emily Kelly is one of the folks who asked for custody of this beautiful little girl because her fiance was behind bars. And her fiance is the father of this little girl.

[00:00:53]So, we'll go into looking at the news coverage that talks about what happened to her. And then we'll talk about it some more because I I really do think the important conversation to have as it relates to this beautiful little girl is who failed her.

[00:01:12]How do we get to this point where her short life ended?

[00:01:16]So, let's just watch this video first and then we'll talk about it further.

[00:01:21]>> And was just 7 years old. Today, prosecutors say they have disturbing evidence that shows the woman in custody actively tortured the child. They say the 7-year-old girl who lived here endured months of abuse. A grand jury indictment now alleging that Jordan Duncan had at least 90 injuries on her body in the last 48 hours of her life.

[00:01:45]20 other injuries including some suggesting she was whipped. Looking outside the home, a clear indication the family denies any abuse. Signs about their own grief after Jordan went into cardiac arrest here last December. Now, three generations of women in the home all charged with the abuse that caused little Jordan's death. 50-year-old Emily Kelly, her legal guardian, facing the most serious charges including second-degree murder. Kelly was the girl's father's fiance and had legal custody because he's in prison. But prosecutors say in the year Kelly was in charge, cruelty persisted. So did alleged cover-ups of Jordan's injuries discussed between Kelly and her 24-year-old daughter, Alyssa Seymour.

[00:02:33]Kelly's elderly mother meanwhile, Barbara Renner, allegedly singing in the background during a video showing little Jordan struggling. Jordan Duncan was absent from school 40 days in 2025.

[00:02:53]>> So, that's about all that I can stomach, but you got the gist of it.

[00:02:57]These are the three These are the three lowest of low individuals that are responsible for, you know, torturing this little girl.

[00:03:08]As you heard, Emily Kelly and then her mother, Barbara Renner, and her daughter, Alyssa Seymour.

[00:03:15]As I said earlier, this woman asked for custody, okay?

[00:03:22]Asked for custody of this little girl while the father is behind bars. So, the question again begs, who failed this girl?

[00:03:34]And in my opinion, and y'all can drop in the chat who you think failed this little girl, I feel like it's more than one.

[00:03:43]Uh and I will say my two cents, okay?

[00:03:47]We're going to start with the parents.

[00:03:50]Although they're not really talking much about the parents, apparently, allegedly, the father's name is Derek Dixon.

[00:03:58]That's what the the online world is saying. Uh the news has not said it.

[00:04:03]It's not, you know, so just don't like don't quote me, but this is what they're saying his name is. He's behind bars, not sure why. Nothing uh you know, is uh telling us why he's behind bars.

[00:04:16]Nevertheless, he's incarcerated. And as as I said, he's the fiance of this woman, okay?

[00:04:22]Then we have the mother. The mother apparently lost custody. Again, don't know why because the reports aren't telling us why she lost custody. So, I start with the parents because when we think about who failed her, you got a father behind bars, you got a mother who lost custody. And normally, you know, the mom is the one that retains custody of the child. So, for a mother to lose custody, then that suggests that there's a problem, right? So, I'm starting with the parents because they're the ones that are responsible for bringing her into this world, of course with the with God. But, they are the custodians here on Earth, okay?

[00:05:05]So, now, the second people that have failed her are obviously these three, these three that, you know, I don't even know how low you can go as a person to take this 7-year-old girl and do what you did to her. She's a baby, okay?

[00:05:23]These are also on the list of who failed this little girl, all right?

[00:05:30]Then I will say also, I see a lot of people are saying the father, and I see Andre you saying all of them. I agree, all.

[00:05:38]I also think the system's failed her.

[00:05:40]You know why I think the system's failed her? Because as you heard in the video, they're saying that she missed 40 days of school in 2025. That's more than a month, okay?

[00:05:54]If a child is absent for 40 days, no matter what the excuses were, because apparently some of the excuses that this bottom-feeder woman would say is that they're taking her to Disneyland and all these other things.

[00:06:07]There's no way that the school shouldn't have, you know, rung the alarm. When you see a child is absent for 40 days, at some point you got to start asking, "Okay, is it really true these excuses that they're giving?" So, I would say the school, because let's be honest.

[00:06:28]If it was a black mama and their child was, you know, missing for 40 days, don't you think that somebody would have called CPS from the school? I mean, they call CPS on black people and black parents for less. So, 40 days?

[00:06:50]They did not even think to, you know, call and and just say, "Hey, go do a wellness check because this 7-year-old is missed 40 days of school." So, I'm putting the educational institution on there as well. And then, of course, CPS in general because shouldn't they be doing wellness checks anyway when somebody is taking custody, especially if the parents are, you know, one lost custody and one's behind bars?

[00:07:18]You would think, right? So, I'm lumping all of these people under the list of who failed this little girl, all right?

[00:07:28]So, now I'm going to just, um, just present here because I want to I want us to read together. Uh, just a couple of days ago it came in that what the charges are going to be against these three.

[00:07:46]I'm just not even going to call them individuals. I'll just leave that alone, but let's just just let's just read this, okay? So, it says three generations of Bayport women arrested in connection with the indictment charging unalivment of the 7-year-old, okay?

[00:08:03]So, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced the indictment of three defendants stemming from the unalivment of the 7-year-old, Jordan Duncan. So, the names Emily Kelly, 50, was indicted for murder in the second degree. I think it should have been first, personally, and other related charges. And the reason why I think it should have been first is because I really do think it was calculating. I think that she pushed to take custody of this child because she already had an agenda. It she didn't just get up and decide to start, you know, torturing this child. There's no way.

[00:08:45]This this is this is something that was planned, as far as I'm concerned. And I don't know what her relationship is with her so-called fiance that's behind bars.

[00:08:54]Maybe she can't stand the man. Like maybe she's exacting whatever hatred she has for him on the daughter. All I know is it was planned. So, to me, it should be first degree, anyway. And then we have Barbara Renner, her her 75-year-old mother, um who was indicted for manslaughter and other related charges. And then we have the daughter, Alyssa Seymour, uh and she's indicted for unlawful imprisonment in the first degree and other related charges. And then you hear from the district attorney, I'm I'm you know, I'm not going to read the entire thing, but he's in he announced the indictment against these um three co-defendants after a lengthy grand jury investigation.

[00:09:41]So, even uh, this district attorney is saying, this was not an alleged single act of violence, it was months of alleged systematic cruelty and he's calling it sadistic abuse, meticulously documented. You see, this is why I feel like this was they should be they should be first degree because you're even documenting it. What kind of Who does that? Like, what kind of person can you be to be doing this to a 7-year-old, a baby, and then documenting it? And as you heard in the video, the 75-year-old grown woman is laughing and singing in the background while this young girl was suffering, right?

[00:10:31]So, to me, first degree. I keep going back to that. The child was allegedly left to unalive while these defendants watched her deteriorate. No child should ever endure such horror and we will seek justice for Jordan. Thank you very much to this district attorney, okay?

[00:10:51]According to the investigation, by the way, this happened on December 29th at approximately 10:30 a.m., this woman, Kelly, um, that's her last name, called 911 to report that Jordan had gone into cardiac arrest and paramedics found the child unconscious and transported her to NYU Langone Hospital Suffolk where she was pronounced deceased, okay?

[00:11:18]The autopsy determined the victim was deceased as a amount of as a result of massive untreated infection.

[00:11:29]So, and then they talk about sharp force injuries and um, you heard the video say that there's 90 injuries. Um and you know I There There literally are no words and I I don't want to just read over it and just you know, basically It's It's too much. I I don't even want to reiterate those those things. It's just It's just too hard.

[00:11:56]Um but again Uh they say that she's Kelly is the fiance of Jordan's father and in December 2024 the Suffolk Child Protective Services placed her with her um at her request. You see what I said?

[00:12:15]And in April 2025 she gained full custody and guardianship of Jordan, okay?

[00:12:22]Um and they also recovered photographic and video evidence from her cell phone and cloud-based accounts documenting the alleged prolonged I There are no Again, there are no words to describe.

[00:12:40]No words to describe.

[00:12:42]Anyhow, I'm not I'm I'm you know, I'm not going to go into all of that detail again. We've We have a the gist of what this poor girl went through.

[00:12:52]Um we talked about the 40 days of school. We already talked about that. Um we talked about fabricating excuses and I did um mention the trip to Disneyland, but she said it involved different illnesses.

[00:13:06]And you know, obviously it was a It was a an excuse because maybe she had some visible marks on her or something like that.

[00:13:15]So, on May 20th she was arraigned um on the indictment before the Supreme Court. One count of murder in the second degree, one count of reckless endangerment, one count of unlawful imprisonment, three counts of endangered the welfare endangering the welfare of a child, okay?

[00:13:37]So, she is uh held on 5 million cash and 10 million bond. Wow. Or 10 million partially secured bond. She ain't getting out no time soon. Um she's due back in court on June 23rd and faces up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted of the top count.

[00:14:00]Um she has a lawyer, whatever. So, um Renner, which is the mother, uh was charged with one count of manslaughter in the second degree, one count of endangering the welfare of a child. And she is held on 50,000 cash, 500,000 bond. Uh and she faces up to 5 to 15 years in prison if convicted on the top count.

[00:14:28]She's got herself an attorney as well.

[00:14:30]And then the daughter.

[00:14:32]She has been charged with one count of unlawful imprisonment, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. And she is held on 25,000 cash, 250,000 bond, faces up to one and and a quarter to four years in prison if convicted on the top count. So, this is where we're at with these uh three.

[00:14:57]And honestly, all of them, as far as I'm concerned, all of them should be at the top. Top count and they should all be getting the same thing and they all need to be put under the jail. They should never see the light of day ever.

[00:15:13]Ever. And and you know, it it's literally I just can't get over family.

[00:15:25]What kind of person like you you're not a person. You're you're literally not a person. If you have in your mind that I'm going to take custody of this beautiful 7-year-old girl only to torture her.

[00:15:40]And then you document it.

[00:15:43]And you're having a good old time watching her suffer.

[00:15:47]And you're singing and you're laughing.

[00:15:49]Then you're strategically planning what your excuse is going to be and how you're going to you know what lie you're going to tell. What kind of people again, not people.

[00:16:00]And this goes back to what I have always felt when it comes to the folks and some folks who choose to take custody of black children. This isn't the first story of the folks taking custody or adopting black children and they're placed in worse situations than where they left, right? We we've seen stories.

[00:16:27]There are uh you know, couples that are in jail now or have been sentenced to to prison for you know, modern-day slavery with these black kids that they adopt. And this you know, this kind of abuse. So I've always taken a version. I've always had this feeling in my gut that was just bothered me whenever I saw the intention of I'm going to fly to Africa or I'm going to fly to Jamaica or wherever. I want to adopt a black baby. It's like why?

[00:17:06]There are several babies and children that look like them that they can adopt or they can take custody of. So why?

[00:17:17]So I go back to what I said before. All of those people have failed this little girl. From the parents to the school to CPS, and of course to these three subhumans.

[00:17:34]Everybody is responsible. Everybody.

[00:17:38]As far as I'm concerned.

[00:17:40]And everybody needs to be investigated.

[00:17:43]Everybody needs to be brought to the table. Why didn't you call CPS? Why didn't you question the fact that she was absent for 40 days? Why didn't you do any wellness visit? Like all of that.

I mean, they said that you heard in the the video that some of the injuries looked like she was you know, that thing was happening to her that happened a lot in slavery, which I just don't even want to repeat, but you know what I what I'm talking about, family.

[00:19:50]Yeah, who who failed her? Everybody.

[00:19:53]Everybody. The system, the people, everybody. And what I'm hoping now is that the law, the system that involves the law now does not fail this little girl.

[00:20:05]And we make sure that these three individuals are you know, I mean, literally placed under the jail. Literally.

[00:20:15]Uh Monica Williams said the father. Yep, the parents. Yep, I agree. The parents Yeah, Andre, you said they all. Yep.

[00:20:23]Um Elizabeth, you said so sad, no one heard her cries. Yeah, you know, um I saw some video clips San Elizabeth with some some neighbors who were saying things like they never saw any marks on her or anything. There was no alarm bells, right? And then when you look at the video, you look at the neighborhood and the home and stuff, they used to hide behind their I guess they're some sort of Christians. So, they had all these beautiful like signs and stuff. And then you also see that they have like uh I don't know, like a little shrine for her, like they're they're like grieving.

[00:20:58]Give me a break. So, you know, a lot of the neighbors said they didn't really see anything that was, you know, raising any alarms. It just goes to show you could be living next to some people and never know what's going on inside that house, you know?

[00:21:18]But I agree with you. Why did she miss so many days from school?

[00:21:22]I think that she missed so many days from school because probably she probably had some physical visible marks or something on her some of the injuries that they couldn't hide.

[00:21:32]So I feel like that's why, you know? Um in my opinion, that's what I think. Uh Trap King, you said my son is 5 and 2 weeks and trying to find um a sister is difficult because trapping trusting people is uh yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:22:00]Bad choices by both parents. Yeah. It started there because if those parents didn't make the choices they made, she would have been in their custody her their custody. So there would have been no reason for these people to uh take custody of her. It wouldn't even have been an option.

So that's why I'm saying I'm I'm the school I'm putting the school on the list because how do you have a child missing 40 days and you don't think to yourself, "Hmm, I think I need to maybe just have CPS do a visit. Do a wellness check. I'm concerned about the absenteeism of this child." And we know, as I said earlier, if it was a black mama and a black daddy, they would have been calling for sure and it would have been for way less than 40 days.

Man, I mean, I'm telling I'm talking about every single black major institution, major organization would have been raising a fuss. We would have seen seen Ben Crump out here, Dr. Candace Matthews out here. Everybody would have been out here if these people didn't get charged. Like what?

[00:24:42]No. There's you can't look at that and not put down some serious charges on these people.

[00:24:56]Yep, I agree. So many lessons here. And the sad part is will they actually learn the lesson?

[00:25:04]If another case should come up like this, would they actually learn?

[00:25:08]Will they actually think about this, remember this, remember this little girl, and say, "You know what? All of these red flags, we need to look at." I mean, I personally feel like the whole system needs a complete overhaul. Like, there needs to be more processes in place before you place a child with somebody that's not their parents. There definitely needs to be, right? And so, her just being this man's fiance, to as far as I'm concerned, is not good enough. I also wonder, does either the the biological mother or the biological father, do they not have family members? Do they not have an auntie, an uncle, a brother, a sister, a mother, a father, a grandmother, grandfather? Like, isn't there wasn't there anybody on the black side that could have taken this little girl? You know, that's the other thing I'm wondering. So many questions.

[00:26:00]But right now, the main focus is on these three because, well, they're the reason why this little girl's no longer here. So, they're not even really bringing any information about the the biological parents. I hope one of them comes forward. Like, I really do. If we can get an interview with daddy who's behind bars or or mom, you got to come forward. We need to have some conversations here. We do. And you need to really push for you know, serious charges on these people that they don't get to you know, no quarter to 4 years and they're out, or 5 years and they're out. No, they all need to stay there for life.

[00:26:42]Right, Andre. I agree. I'm saying the same thing. They should never see the light of day.

[00:26:49]Not one of them, William. Not one of them have common decency. They're not human beings. They're not. You can't possibly be a human being and do this to a defenseless child. And I you know, there's nothing you know, we as black people, we can sometimes, you know, we discipline our children, right? A certain type of way.

[00:27:08]This is beyond. This is this is There's nothing that child would have done to deserve this. Nothing. Nothing.

[00:27:18]Yeah, William, I agree with you. I agree with you. Solitary confinement is probably what they're going to try to to to push for them because people will be looking for them. Trust me.

[00:27:39]Daddy really um Yeah, the the the parents are at the the you know, the top for failing this child. The top. I agree with you, Andre, again. I agree.

[00:27:52]Um I appreciate all y'all. You got so much to say. This is really heartbreaking and I see this. This is really really heartbreaking. I feel you.

[00:28:00]I feel the same way. You know, we as uh journalists that are out here researching and reading and all this stuff, it hits us. It It's very hurtful to see this, right? It's really really really hurtful. Really hurtful.

[00:28:15]Uh bubbly bubbles, you said there's been so many cases um of black children being left. Mhm.

[00:28:23]Um yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And that's why I hope that this story will definitely um make the child protective services and these agencies that place these children with um you know, the folks or even if it's not the folks, there needs to be a better process of making sure you're checking in on these children. And also the school. There needs to be a better process where you are stepping in if you see something that doesn't seem right.

[00:28:54]No child at the age of seven should miss 40 days of school.

[00:28:59]Unless uh if you're you know, if you're a sickly child or whatever, usually the parents would have doctors notes and stuff like that to show, okay, that my child is suffering with asthma or whatever the case may be. So, you know, um we're in and out of the hospital and here's evidence of that. You know, usually it follows with something. I remember when I was in school, if I was sick, I had to you know, I had to bring a note home for my parents to sign and my parents would have to write a note just like they would have to do uh back in the day anyway with your work. You always had to produce evidence of all of these absenteeisms. So, again, the school also failed this little girl.

[00:29:40]They sure did. Bubbles Bubbles, you said they really hate us. Yeah.

[00:29:46]Uh McQueen, you said uh and then they wonder why we'd rather do our own thing.

[00:29:52]Yep.

[00:29:53]Yep, this is why we'd rather do our own thing. So, again, I say uh more than one person and more than one system failed this little girl.

[00:30:07]And I am hoping and praying that this situation is going to cause these institutions to really look at the your current processes and then look at where things need to be finited, where things need to be improved, and if it means layering in more wellness checks, all of those things, you got to do it. You got to do it. Our black children's lives matter, okay?

[00:30:38]I don't recall seeing uh these kinds of stories going on with non-melanated children that are, you know, adopted. We certainly aren't doing that to non-melanated children if we take custody of them, we as black people.

[00:30:58]And I'm not seeing non-melanated people doing that to non-melanated children, at least not to the level of what we're seeing with our black babies.

[00:31:08]So, that in and of itself is enough of a reason for these institutions to be like, "I'm keeping a closer eye on this."

[00:31:16]But, you have to care first, right? You got to really care. And you got to be in that mindset of "We're not If this isn't a complexion for the protection. Oh, she's with a white mom, so it can't possibly be that there is something suspicious going on, even though she was missing from school for 40 days, right?" Can't possibly be.

[00:31:41]Exactly, Michael Gresham. We are not that kind of people. We are always kind and give grace and all that stuff. We don't think that way. That's just not our culture. It is their culture.

[00:31:56]Yeah, I'd rather keep children in the family. Yep. Yep, somebody that's blood.

[00:32:00]That's why I'm wondering, McQueen. I'm really wondering, where's the black side? Where's the relatives on the black side? Did they just say I don't want this little girl? Like, what happened?

[00:32:11]And I Listen, if I had the opportunity to sit and talk to the daddy and the mommy, I would ask these questions. Do you not have a sister? Do they not have any aunties and uncles? Do they, you know, what about your parents? You know, what happened here? What happened? Why was this woman the most qualified person to take this child?

[00:32:36]So many questions. So many questions.

[00:32:38]But I tell you what, I'm definitely going to be keeping my good eye on this case because I want to see how this plays out. I want to see what happens with these three. Um, I want to see if there are any improvements. I want to see if there are any um statements that are coming from child protective services, any statements coming from the school that she went to, anything. I want to see accountability. I want to see uh what we're doing now to make things better, to improve systems. I want to see.

[00:33:13]So I'm definitely going to keep following up and trust and believe me when I tell you I'm going to be making some phone calls if I don't see any real answers because you know what tends to happen family with these kinds of cases and when it comes to us. You see it in the news, it circulates for a minute or two, it's in the algorithms for a hot second, then it's gone, then we don't hear anything more about it, right? It's all of a sudden washed in the trees and then we move on to the next, you know, whatever hot news that's that's circulating. So we're not going to allow that to happen here. We need justice for Jordan. Justice for Jordan. Okay?
