The blockade was put up in April in response to Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz. The United States and Iran agreed to a ceasefire in early April, but President Donald Trump is currently reviewing an agreement that would extend the ceasefire and hopefully open the Strait of Hormuz. The United States blocking six ships so far with one being a wild card to proceed.
