Ukraine Heavily Dependent On US Patriot Systems | Ukraine Sounds Alarms As Attacks Intensify | WIONAdded:
Ukraine is facing waves after waves of Russian strikes. Well, now President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is urging calling Washington for more missiles and air defenses.
But America is confronting a growing problem of its own. Well, its weapon stockpile is under strain. Take a look at our next report.
>> The skies over [music] Ukraine are growing more dangerous by the day.
Air raid sirens, missile interceptions, [music] drone attacks.
These are the latest images showing the aftermath of a Russian attack on the southern Ukrainian city of Odessa.
And now fears are rising in Kyiv that Russia is preparing an even heavier wave of attacks in the months ahead.
Ukraine is fighting back aggressively, too. Kyiv's forces have expanded long-range drone and missile attacks targeting military facilities and strategic [music] sites deep inside Russian territory.
The battlefield is widening, the tempo is rising, and both sides are intensifying pressure.
But the situation [music] in Ukraine is dire. It is running out of critical ammunition.
President Zelenskyy [music] has issued a fresh appeal to US President Donald Trump pleading that Ukraine [music] urgently needs more Patriot missile systems and advanced interceptors to defend its skies. Zelenskyy says delays [music] could leave Ukrainian cities exposed.
The request comes just days after one of the worst [music] combined missile and drone attacks launched against Kyiv since Russia invaded [music] Ukraine more than four years ago.
But now the US is facing its own crisis.
Washington's advanced arsenal is drained.
Stockpiles of long-range interceptors [music] and precision missiles have been fed into the Iran fight. Rebuilding stocks takes years. Analysts warn the United States will not replenish high-end weapons quickly.
Among the critical weapons which are running low are Tomahawk cruise missiles which are [music] used to strike targets deep inside enemy territory.
And Patriot and THAAD interceptors that defend against incoming missiles and drones.
Washington must now choose between maintaining its own domestic combat readiness, fulfilling obligations to other global [music] partners, or shipping its remaining high-end munitions to help Ukraine [music] protect its skies. This create a brutal strategic dilemma for the Pentagon.
