Government property allotment rules require officials to vacate government residences when they leave office, and alternative accommodation must be provided; political controversies arise when former leaders refuse to comply with these rules, as demonstrated by Rabri Devi's refusal to vacate her government bungalow in Patna despite receiving a notice to move to an alternative residence.

Bihar News | "Let Them Evict Me By Force, I Won't Vacate": Rabri Devi On Evicting Government BunglowAdded:
The latest political controversy has erupted in Bihar after RJD leader and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi was issued a notice to vacate her government-allotted residence. This is at the 10th Circular Road in Patna. Rabri Devi challenges Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary to remove her from the government in Bangalore by four. Saying she would not sell the premises voluntarily and according to the notice an alternative accommodation has already been offered to her at House No. 39 on Harding Road. Now however the move has triggered a political squabble with the Bihar Deputy Chief Minister calling out Rabri Devi to follow the rules set by the government. JDU leaders also went on to slam Rabri Devi for asking her to lead by an example and not cling to a government bungalow. With this, the RJD has rallied behind Rabri Devi alleging that the action was politically motivated and it being aimed at its senior leaders.
When he said they will not vacate, he said what will they do, they will not vacate, he said what will they do, they will not vacate, he said what will they do, they will not vacate, he said what will they respect, such people are honorable MPs and MLAs.
Apart from these two categories, there are people who have unauthorized houses. Who has won and gone to the Lok Sabha and has been the Chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council. His gym has a separate house. The allotment of houses is not being done as per the rules. The houses allotted to the ministers are not demarcated. It does not happen on that basis. So you can give it to the minister anywhere. So to defame, a minister from Scheduled Caste has been placed here.
So this is a way the government has deliberately chosen to harass and humiliate. At this time, whatever the law says is what happens and everyone has to follow the rules. There should be no dogma on the question of what the law says.
Because you are the leader of the opposition, your conduct will be worth following for your MLAs and when there is a process for this and alternative accommodation has been provided, then we believe that stubbornness should not be shown.
He said that in the beginning, that is a process, there are by-laws for this. Three notices were sent earlier. It is not like that you can get someone's house entered whenever you want and when will you get it vacated because the question is that one should not keep an eye on the government property, earlier also a notice was issued by the legal department to vacate it, there was no allotment in anyone's name and now again the cabinet has been expanded and new ministers have also been made, so 10 Circular Road residence has been allotted in the name of Honorable Minister Nand Kishore Ram ji.
Then the legal department has issued a notice as per the rules.
Now the honorable ministers also need accommodation. So it is natural that as per rules it should be vacant now. Earlier the allotment was not allotted in the name of anyone.
But now 39 Harding Road is also ready there and now it is named after Honorable Minister Nand Kishore Ram ji. So now in this regard the department has issued a legal notice.
See, the government has made rules and everyone should follow them and especially the public representatives, every person should definitely follow the government's policy so that those who are in his government, that is, they should stay, when they were in the government earlier, they were staying and they were staying even after that, so if there is any rule of the government then the government should not leave it.
Once again bungalow politics is erupted in Bihar and right now we are standing outside the Circular Bungalow in Patna and this is the bungalow where the Lalu family is living for the last 21 years and newly Bihar government instructed and advised and issued a notice a fresh notice to Rabri Devi to vacate this bungalow and shifted to the 39 Hardinge Road which is the new bungalow that is allotted to the leader of opposition Rabri Devi and we are reporting from the Circular Bungalow in Patna and this is called once a power center of Bihar politics as you can see a big lantern which is the symbol of RJD you can see at the top of the gate of the 10 Circular Road and you can see here the name of Mrs. Rabri Devi former Chief Minister Bihar and this is the bungalow where the Lalu family is living for the last 21 years the RJD supremo Tejashwi Yadav, all the top guns of RJD is living in that bungalow for the last 21 years and now a fresh notice has been issued by the Building Construction Department to vacate this bungalow.
