Money that represented the daily payroll for several hundred workers in 1931. On the 30th of September 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt dedicated the dam more than 2 years ahead of schedule. The crowd numbered approximately 15,000 and 14 workers were honored with a moment of silence.
