13Weather morning forecast | Saturday, May 9, 2026Añadido:
to start your Saturday morning back here in central Indiana. We are off to a great start. The rain has cleared out.
>> Yeah. We're starting to clear up and and dry out and it's going to be a great day. I think today is going to be one of the better weather days that we've got in the extended forecast cuz we're going to go right back below average this upcoming week for at least most days. So today, we've got southwest winds, we've got sunshine, we're going to dry things out, and we're going to warm things up >> All right. with the help of both of those things coming together. Here's a live look on the north side where we had a few lingering clouds just a few moments ago. That has all since really cleared out for us and sunshine is that dominant weather feature out there right now. Becoming mostly sunny officially at the airport as our temperature is now on an upward trend. We've been hanging out in the low 50s so far during the overnight and now we're up to 57 southwest wind at 8 mph. I do think it will be breezy at times today with wind gusts in excess of 25 mph possible. It's going to help to warm things up for us though today. That rain is now long gone exiting off to our east as we have started to clear our sky out really across the board. That dry air is starting to take back over. So all of this rainfall that we've had reported over the past 24 hours will likely start to evaporate and really dry up here at the surface. And we had a pretty decent amount of rainfall too. As we go back to yesterday evening when this all started, Connersville picking up just shy at 3/4 of an inch of rainfall just south of Indianapolis. We had the heaviest of the rain. Over an inch reported in Shelbyville, Greenwood over to Martinsville 1.35 inches and nearly an inch and a half rainfall report over in Spencer and Owen County. So certainly a decent amount of rain. We are now on the backside of all of it though. If you're coming downtown, join me for kids day.
We're going to have a crew from WTHR on Monument Circle as well hanging out with the kids. I'm going to be MCing the Rookie Run that gets underway at 11:15 this morning, runs until everyone has a gone through all of the waves with the different age divisions. It's going to be a fun day. We've got great weather for it, 69 at that 1:00 hour, and then as everything kind of wraps up in the 2:00 hour, we'll be in the low 70s. A really nice afternoon as we eventually top out near 75, 74 in Shelbyville, and 76 for our friends down in Columbus today. And as of today, that average high jumps to 71. So, everybody getting a little bit back above average for today. Lots going on in downtown Indy tonight. We've got the Indians, the Indy 11 going to be in action in downtown, as well as Lucas Oil Stadium hosting Morgan Wallen. A lot of fans in town for this.
It's going to be a busy one in downtown, so make sure you're coming extra early to make sure you can secure your parking. We've got clear skies and wonderful weather for everything going on tonight as we eventually drop back into the 60s.
Then as we get into tomorrow, there will be a weak cold front that's going to slide across the state during the overnight. That could pose the threat of perhaps a few scattered rain showers.
Not going to be an all-day rain out of it for Mother's Day, but I do want to give you just a heads-up that we'll be monitoring an isolated rain chance as we look ahead at Mother's Day. And then one more quick wave of rain going to come through. This is late Tuesday into the early morning hours on Wednesday. That's going to be the best bet for some more widespread shower activity. There might be a lingering shower on Wednesday, but most of that's going to wrap up. And that will again bring in that cooler air mass dropping temperatures behind that system Tuesday back into the mid-60s for Wednesday and Thursday, and eventually we're back to 70 with some sunshine to wrap up next week. We'll be right back.
