When removing invasive species from natural areas, it is essential to understand their growth patterns and reproductive methods first; for example, Japanese knotweed spreads through underground rhizomes, making surface removal ineffective, while pulling flowering plants like garlic mustard can spread seeds and flowers, worsening the infestation.

Learn the proper way to remove invasives if you want to help out your local park! #invasivespeciesAdded:
I know nowadays we're really taught to despise um especially these invasive plants but even not invasive non-native plants.
Mostly brought over to Europe from Europe or Asia.
And you might want to help out your local park by helping to remove the invasives.
But it's a good idea to study how they grow and the best way to get rid of them.
Um these Japanese knotweed very invasive.
These grow through rhizomes which are like a root system that goes under the under the ground and then they pop up somewhere else.
So this is this is not really going to do much for remediation or removal. You can see all the little ones that have popped up next to this one.
So I also saw a lot of garlic mustard yanked out of the ground along this trail but again it's got flowers on the end of it um at this time of year so when you're yanking them out or pulling on them and then throwing them on the ground you're actually spreading the flowers around.
So yeah, it's good idea to just study up a little bit before you go at it in your local park. Make sure what you're doing is actually helping.
