My Herbal Apothecary Tour
Added:Good morning y'all. I'm Tracy and welcome back to Justicette Farms. It's raining again. It's been raining for weeks and it is a blessing. I woke up this morning to rain and it's still raining right now. I was going to take y'all out into the herb garden. We were going to harvest herbs together this morning and talk about a few herbs.
But since it's raining, I'm going to take advantage of a rainy day and do a project that I've really been needing to get done. So, I'm going to bring you guys along with me today and we're going to work on reorganizing my herbs, my apothecary chest, and we'll talk about a few herbs along the way and some of their benefits and uses. And I'm going to show y'all my new herb product supply room. I think that's what we're going to call it. This has gotten a little bit disorganized and it's hard to find exactly what I'm looking for because I don't have it labeled really well. I have the tops of my herbs labeled like this, but I don't have labels, you know, in the front where I can actually see them without having to pull everything off. First thing I'm going to do, I'm going to pull everything off. We're gonna dust it and clean it, of course.
And then I'm going to touch up these paint spots. There's I've nicked my chest a little bit and scratched off some paint in some of the areas, which is driving me nuts. So, I'm going to go ahead and touch that up since we have everything pulled off. I'm going to relel my herbs and then we're going to put them all back in a more efficient system. This is our kitchen and this is the foyer of our home.
and we had this as an office space for Jean. So, we decided to move Jean's office into my office with me because he really needs a good private space to work with quiet. He's on conference calls all day with clients, with his bosses, and he just needed a space to be able to go in, shut the door, have quiet and privacy to work. And it's working out really good. We rearranged my office and fixed it to where we both could have a good working space in there. It's working out great. So then we decided to take this foyer and turn it into my herbal product supply room because herbs have been taking over our home.
It really is, y'all. I needed a space to organize all of my supplies that I use to make herbal products and my finished herbal products because I did just have them like stacked up in boxes. I've had them in the laundry room. I've had them in the kitchen. I've had them in my office. Everywhere. They've been everywhere and no real organized system and it's kind of hard to function like that. I went to Home Depot and invested in two of these metal shelves, which fits perfectly on this main wall here.
And for right now, it's doing me well, but I might end up having to add more shelves in this room. So, this rack right here has all of my supplies on it that I need to make my herbal products.
So, on the first shelf here, I've got my double boilers, my food processor. I've got other kitchen equipment that I'm going to bring in here. I'm starting to keep my equipment that I use to make my herbal products separate from my equipment that I use to cook with.
Because when you have an herbal business, when it's set up properly according to guidelines, you're supposed to keep all of your supplies separate from your culinary, your normal everyday cooking supplies. So, I'm trying to get organized and compliant with all of the rules. So, uh the up here will be all of my equipment that I need. This shelf right here holds all of my herbal oils.
So, these over here in the big half gallon jars are my herbal infusions that are infusing right now. And I've got different ones, different recipes for the different products that I make. So, each one of these is different for the different products that I make. They have different ingredients in them. And every day or so, every other day, I come in and I just turn them upside down. Let them sit upside down for a little while.
And then I come back and I turn them right side up. And that just keeps them all It makes sure the herbs are always completely submerged into the oil. Now, when you're making infused oils, you want to use dried herbs. Um, I always use dried herbs. Otherwise, they'll mold and they'll go rancid, and you certainly don't want that. We need to at least let them infuse for a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks to extract all of the good beneficial properties from those herbs into the different oils. So, four to 6 weeks is a minimum. I really like for it to go 6 to 8 weeks, but the way we've been making products lately, 4 to 6 weeks is about as long as I get to go. So, I try to keep quite a few of these going and infusing so that I've always got some ready to strain off and use for our recipes. My daughter-in-law, Kaani, my our oldest son's wife, has been coming over once a week and helping me make herbal savs and herbal products, which has been absolutely wonderful. She brings my little granddaughter, Ella, and we play and have tea parties while we're working. And last week, she brought Jordan and Kiana, which are her older children, and they're my grandchildren as well. And they helped me last week. They labeled things. Uh, I taught Jordan how to infuse an oil and they helped me do a couple of farm projects. Hey, Lonnie's mom used to own a herbal shop in New Hampshire and she used to work at it with her. So, it's pretty cool that, you know, we're getting to do this together and it's been a real blessing that we're getting to uh get to know each other a little bit better and spend time together and do something that we both enjoy. So, it's been nice having her come help me once a week. Um, we've actually developed a new product together. Chase, my son, her husband, requested that I make a beard oil for him. He's got a full beard and he loves to use beard oil. He's about the only one of my guys who does. Jean don't care for it. Chance don't really use it. He's the only one that uses it and he requested that I make a beard oil for him. So, we've been working on developing one of those and I think we've about got it. So, it won't be long and that'll be offered on our shop. These oils right here are different ones that we've actually strained off. We strained all of the herbs off from the oil and that's what we're left with. This one is Breathe Easy. So, this is the oil that we use for our Breathe Easy Sav. On this shelf is some of the ingredients that I use.
So, these are different oils that I use in the different recipes. I've got vitamin E, grape seed, sunflower, argan, apricot, kernel, uh, hoba, castor oil, avocado, um, laneline.
Um, down here, these are the things that I use the most of. So, I try to get them in big gallon jugs. I've got sweet almond oil is the primary one that I use. So, I've got some of those. I've got um coconut oil, um olive oil, shea butter, cocoa butter.
These are magnesium flakes that I use for the magnesium cream. We got bentonite clay, arrowroot powder. Um this is beeswax from our bees. I'm just going to show you some of these wax bars. If you don't know, we're beekeepers, so we have honey bees. The honey bees were on the farm before we actually got to live here. And when we harvest our honey, we save all of the wax and render it down. And then I pour it into 1 oz wax molds because all of my recipes are in ounces.
So it's easy when it calls for 2 oz of beeswax just to throw two of these bars in the pot and melt them. So this is our beeswax, which is so super cool. I try to use the majority of everything in my products from our farm. So most of the herbs, I would say 80% of the herbs in our products I grow. Uh and most of them I start from seed, but they are out in my protege garden. I grow them, I harvest them, I preserve them, and then I create products with them. The beeswax that we use for the savves and the creams is from our honeybees and I know without a doubt that they have not been sprayed and they are as organic and naturally as they can be. Now the carrier oils and essential oils and ingredients like shea butter and magnesium flakes, bit clay, those kind of things, we don't grow those here on our farm. I can't grow those. Now, uh, the essential oils, I could actually do that from my herbs, and that is one of the things that I do want to learn how to do. I want to get a distillery and be able to uh, produce our own essential oils from our herbs, at least some of them. I think that would be just so incredibly wonderful and beautiful to be able to do that. It's on my list of herbal skills to master. So, one day I'm going to invest in a beautiful copper distillery and I'm going to learn how to extract essential oils from my own herbs. Won't that be lovely? But as of right now, I'm not doing that. So, I get just about all of these products, the oils, the shea butter, all of the ingredient products that I can't grow myself, I get them from Bulk Apothecary.
That's my best resource. They have organic, natural, unrefined products.
And any of the herbs that I run out of or I don't grow enough of, I order from Mountain Rose Herbs or Monterey Herb Company. Those are my two primary sources for ordering dried herbs. As far as my essential oils, I order them from Young Living. I've always been a Young Living oily girl. Uh for gosh 20 years probably I've used Young Living, but I just recently started using Revive oils because they're a little less expensive.
In the research I've done, it looks like they're really good quality essential oils and I I'm really enjoying them. I think that they're pretty good. So, um I've been ordering some of their oils to try out. And on this bottom shelf here, these are my jars and my tins for my savves, lip balm tubes, things like that. My packages for my teas. Okay, so on this shelf, this is our finished herb products. Um, this is our honey.
So, like I said earlier, we are beekeepers and we harvested honey about two weekends ago now and we ended up with 250 lbs of honey this first harvest. We'll be harvesting again in late July. These are our tea diffusers that we sell on our shop. So, you put this down inside your teacup. Put your herbs in there. About a tablespoon for an 8 oz cup. Put your lid on. Let it steep. And then you've got your tea to drink. So, this is one of my most favorite tea accessories that Gan and I use every single day. These are some of my herbal tea blends that we're making.
I want to just talk to y'all about some of these herbal tea blends for a minute and share some of their ingredients and what they're good for. I started developing these herbal tea blends for me because I love herbal tea. I love herbs and there's just so many wonderful benefits to drinking a cup of herbal tea. You can combine different herbs to help you with different issues and it's just a delicious delicious one of the most delicious ways to get those herbs into your body and into your system. So that's why I started developing different blends of herbal teas was for my own personal benefit and for different ones in our family. This one right here is called just digging's.
This is one of the first ones that I made and this is a good sleepy time tea.
So this has chamomile, passion flour, holy basil or tulsi anise, lemon balm, lemon verbina, dehydrated oranges and cinnamon bark. So this one is really good. a good nervine. It's good for calming your nerves, calming anxiety.
Um, if you can't get a good night's sleep, this is a good tea to drink before you go to bed. Um, we've got a walk in the garden herbal tea. This is one of my new ones that I developed this spring and it's just a lovely little tea blend of rosel hibiscus, blue butterfly pea, rose petals, peppermint, red raspberry leaf, chingula, lemon balm, lemongrass, elderflower, lavender buds, and dehydrated orange. It's got a lot of beautiful herbal ingredients in it, and they all have incredible medicinal benefits for you. Elder flour is really good for allergies and sinus issues.
Rosel is great. Rosel is in a lot of our teas. It's the main ingredient in a couple of them. Rosel is an incredible herb. It's an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, uh natural diuretic. It's um it helps with cholesterol issues, blood pressure issues, diabetes issues. It's a good liver detox.
So many benefits to it. Um, peppermint.
You know what peppermint? Peppermint's good for headaches. It's good for nausea. It's good for digestion issues.
Um, lemon balm is a good nervine. It's calming, helps to relax you, helps with anxiety, depression. Um, it just helps to stabilize your mood and calm you down. Uh, lemongrass does the same thing. Lemongrass is also an analesic, so it helps with pain. Elderflower is good for sinuses and sinus issues. So, this is a lovely little herbal tea blend. My friend Laura at Simply Making it, this is her favorite blend. Um, Sweet Relief is one that I made for my personal self for allergies because I suffer with sinuses and allergies. So, I developed this tea called Sweet Relief Allergy Relief Tea. has stinging nettle, peppermint, lemon balm, ginger root, licorice root, roselle, hibiscus, red clover, mullen leaf, oat straw, plantain, dehydrated oranges, and lemons. A lot of the herbs that I just mentioned are really good for allergies, sinus issues, congestion, mucus, all of those nasty things.
Um, we'll do a more in-depth video later telling you details about each herb. And I do have some videos in my herb playlist that about some of these different herbs in more detail. It tells you all about them. So, you can go back and check out our herb playlist. We do have another tea called warm winter night which main ingredients is rosel and it has a lot of the different spices and herbs that um have that mullen cider type flavor to it. It's really delicious. And I have one called cozy fall nights that's really good too and that'll be coming back in the fall. We do have warm winter night on our shop still available. We were going to take it off and discontinue it until wintertime, but everybody loves it and everybody requested that I keep it, so we kept it and it's available on our shop. Now, these are the two new herbal tea blends that I just developed. And this one is called Golden Hour because who does not love Golden Hour in the Garden? And this one too has rose ale, rose hips, which is great vitamin C source and great for building your immunity, lemongrass, cinnamon, a little bit of cinnamon chips, not many, and dehydrated orange. And this one is different than the warm winter night.
The warm winter night has more of that mullen cider flavor. And this one is a little bit lighter. And this one is really good as a hot warm tea or it's great as a cool beverage. So you can take this and steep it in hot boiling water for 30 minutes just like you would for your hot tea. Then after it finishes steeping, add strain off your herbs. Add some honey to it to sweeten it because rode rosel does have a little bitterness to it. So add you some honey to sweeten it up. I do highly recommend just stick it farms honey. Add that to sweeten it up and then put in the refrigerator and let it get good and cold and then pull it out. Add you a splash of orange juice, apple juice, pineapple juice, mango juice, whatever juice you like and serve it with ice and it is such a delicious, refreshing, cool drink. and you know, grab you a cup of either hot tea or cold tea and go take you a walk in the garden in the golden hour.
You'll be happy. All right, the next one that I've developed is cottage garden lemonade. So, this is created for another cool, refreshing drink while you're working in the garden because y'all know it's getting hot and we need those cold, refreshing, nourishing drinks while we're outside working. The cottage garden lemonade will be available on our shop next month in July. And it is elderflower, lemon bomb, lemon verbina, and lavender buzz. And it's like a good lavender lemonade. So, you make it just like you would a hot tea. Add your honey, put in the refrigerator, let it cool, and then add a little bit of lemon juice to it, and you've got a delicious lavender lemonade, a cottage garden lemonade.
It's really, really good. And this is something to look forward to. It'll be available in July. So, as of right now, these are the herbal tea blends that I have available that I've developed and feel like I've perfected. Um, I'm always working on creating more herbal tea blends. I'm always combining different herbs together as as far as, you know, what their benefits are and as far as flavor because, let's face it, if it doesn't taste good, we're not going to drink it. So, I'm I'm always working on creating different herbal tea blends.
It's one of my passions. I love doing it. So, this is what we have available so far for y'all on our shop, just digitfarmms.com.
This shelf has a lot of our savves that we make. So, we've got they're all boxed up right now cuz I'm getting ready to take these to farmers market this weekend. This is our newest one. This is called Rugged Restore. My daughter-in-law Kaani and I just created this and this is for the men in our life. It has more of a masculine fragrance to it. So, we've got Rugged Restore. Comfrey Comfort is a favorite.
Allpurpose sav is a favorite. Breathe easy is a good one for um like sinus issues. It's almost like a natural vapor rub. Muscle and joint pain relief. Sav is really really good. It helps to relieve um some arthritis pain. It helps my father-in-law and my mom with their neuropathy. It just helps with muscle and joint pain. Barefoot balm is one that's really good for those dry, cracked feet or um aching, sore feet.
And then this is the sweet rest magnesium cream, which is really nice to rub on the bottom of your feet and your legs before you go to sleep. just helps you get good rest and it helps with those leg cramps and restless legs.
These are our soaps. My friend Laura at Simply Making It makes our soaps for us.
So, we have a In the Woods collection of Cedarwood Breeze, Woodland Hideway.
Um, let's see. What's the other?
Whispers of the pines, which is one of my favorites. It smells so good. And then we have an in the garden collection.
That is the rose garden, the herb garden, and the bee garden, which is honey and lavender, our honey. So, our friend Laura at Simply Making It has a goat farm and she has a soap making business and she makes lotions. She makes all kinds of products and she is so super talented, y'all. And she has got the soap making, goats milk soap making skill down to a perfect science and art.
She is fabulous. So, she makes our soaps for us and she does an incredible job.
They smell so good, y'all. And they work so good and they're natural and they're good for your skin. You know, our skin is the biggest organ of our body and we need to really take care of it and be intentional and careful about what we put on our skin. I feel confident in using this soap because I know where the ingredients came from. And Laura is amazing. And if y'all don't know Laura, y'all go over and check out her shop, Simply Making It. She has all kinds of incredible products.
Okay. Also, we've got these cute little journals that my friend Jacqueline makes for us. And these have our garden gate on them. Aren't they so super cute, y'all?
That is our garden gates. And it says, if you look the right way, you can see the whole world is a garden. And it's just blank journals. I am a journaler. I have been since I was a little girl.
I've got a whole entire bookshelf in a closet of nothing but journals. And um you know, it's how I talk to God. It's how I pray. It's how I can go back and look and see those prayers answered and just see how he works in my life. It's almost really like love letters to the Lord, prayers to the Lord, and even a lot of complaints to the Lord.
If you're like me and you're a journaler, this is a cute one to have.
All right, what else do we have down here? Oh, these are our this is our newest design on our shop, the cottage garden design. So, this is a cool tumbler with our cottage garden design on it. And we also have our t-shirts.
I've got these here because I'm going to take a few to the farmers market with me. But this is our cottage garden design. Isn't this beautiful?
This is probably one of my favorite designs we've created. It says, "Here among the flowers, my soul finds rest."
So, it comes in this pink and this green. And June will be the last month that these are available. We'll be discontinuing this design, and we're working on creating a new design for July. These are just some little gift sets that I put together for Father's Day. So, it's a couple of the in the woods soaps and the rugged restore sav. And I'm going to have these at the farmers market this weekend just in case anybody's looking for a little Father's Day gift. And the rest of all this is just packaging. So, like these are our tea packages that are already labeled and ready for tea.
And that's just packaging and bags down there. You've had the whole tour of the herbal product supply room and I'm still working on it. I think I'm going to You see those spots up there?
The house come like that. It's where somebody got oil on the sheetrock. And I think what I'm going to do is beadboard this wall or maybe do like a fun wallpaper or something like that. I don't know what I'm going to do, but KES, all of those things does not cover it up. So, we're going to have to get creative with this to hide that. I've shared with y'all in previous videos this year that we are working on the exterior of our home right now. We got a new roof. We got new windows. We're about to start painting the outside.
When we get all of the exterior projects done, then we're moving to the inside to work on. Uh we're going to paint. We're going to fix things like that. We're going to put down new floors, new trim.
We've got a lot of things to do to the inside of our home. So, whenever we get to the point where we can work on the interior, I'm going to come up with something creative and and beautiful to do with this wall. There's a couple of other walls in our house that have the same issue. So, I really want to get those issues addressed because it does bother me. I think I'm going to get like some sheer drapes to put right here. I'm not really a big window treatment girl.
And I'm think I'm going to do like a shelf above my window and put plants, house plants all up there. And we might end up doing like a corner shelf here because I know I'm going to need more storage room.
And you know, I don't know what's going to end up happening right here. But for now, it's all okay.
And then I moved this little table in here that I've had for a really long time just because I needed a good work surface. And this works out good because it's not too big. Doesn't take up a whole lot of room in here. And it just gives me a little space to set things on or to sit down and label things. I really want to find a different chair to go right here. So, I'm on the hunt for that. Before I get started on my apothecary chest, I'm going to make a nice cup of tea to enjoy while I'm working on it. I'm going to be having golden hour right now. So, I'm going to make it in my big teapot because I'm going to have a cup right now and then I'm going to put the rest in the refrigerator to enjoy as I take my little golden hour walk in the garden this afternoon.
This teapot makes about five cups of tea. So, I'm going to use five tablespoons of my golden hour herbal tea blend.
Actually, I'm going to go ahead and use six because I like my tea strong.
I almost forgot to tell y'all. We selected our winner for our honey giveaway that we did last week. And her name is Gracie. and we'll be shipping this jar of honey out to her tomorrow.
So, if you don't know what I'm talking about, on last week's video, we did a honey giveaway. So, you just had to put a comment, it's so sweet, in the comment section and we put your name in a bowl and last night on our live, we drew the winner and you had to be present at our live to claim your prize. So, Gracie won our honey and we're sending it to her tomorrow. It was so much fun on last night's live. We decided to do another giveaway this week and we're going to be giving away one of our herbal tea blends. So, all you have to do to enter to win a package of our tea is to like this video, watch this video, like it, share it, hype it, and in the comment put it's tea time. And you have to be present on our live next Monday night, which will be June the 8th at 7:30 p.m.
We go live on Facebook and YouTube. And you have to be present for the drawing to be able to claim your prize if you win. Our tea steepen. I like to let this blend steep for about 30 good minutes.
So, we're going to go ahead and get started on this apothecary chest. First thing I'm going to do is I'm going to pull everything off and put it on the table.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
This is my drawer of essential oils. And this is a disaster. So, you can't really see what I've got. I tried writing on some of them, but you can't really see what I've got until you actually pull it up and read it. And that's just not very efficient. So, I've ordered some little dot labels for essential oils, and I'm waiting on those to come in, and then I'll reorganize all of these essential oils into a better system. For right now, I'm just going to shut the drawer.
I'm going to go ahead and paint all these little nicked up spots on here and let it be drying while we label relabel and organize all of these dried herbs.
So, this is bare paint and primer and it is cracked pepper black.
Heat. Heat.
I mean, does it get any better than this? A rainy day in the apothecary working with herbs with a good hot cup of herbal tea, hanging out with friends.
Cheers, y'all. This is St. John's wart.
St. John's wart is another great pain relieving herb. And I use this in with my um uh arnica and cayenne peppers to make my muscle and joint sav. Man, y'all, I wish Renee was here to write these for me. Her handwriting is so beautiful and mine is so not.
St. John's wart. Nice.
Um, licorice root.
All right. Licorice root is a good mucilaginous herb. So, what that means is mucus, the mucus that's in your chest, you know, when you have a cold and stuff. respiratory infections and stuff are uh in your throat, in your sinuses, in your nose. It helps to break all of that up and it tastes good. It has a a licorice flavor to it and it tastes good. So, this licorice root is in our um allergy relief, sweet relief allergy herbal tea.
This is echanasia or purple cone flour.
Many of you probably know a little bit about it. It's pretty popular and most commonly used for building your immune system. The secret to it is is you need to start taking it at the very first onset of feeling bad. You know that little bit of tickle in your throat or that little cough or that little scratchiness, little sniffle. As soon as soon as you feel it coming on, go ahead and start taking echynasia because it works best as to fight it in the very beginning or as a defense against something. So like if you know you're going to a family get together and there's going to be a sick kid there, you know, you might want to take start taking you some echynasia before you go and continue to take it for a little while when you get back. But don't take this for too long of a period of time.
You know, I would say don't take it more than seven to 14 days. And um the best way I think to take echynasia is in a tincture form. I don't really like it as a tea. I like to make a tincture with it and just take a couple of dropper fulls of echynasia if I feel something coming or if I know I'm going to be in sick territory.
The next one is oat straw or a sativa.
So this is a good anti-inflammatory, great for inflammation, good for blood flow, it's good for your cognitive thinking, your brain function. Um, it's good for heart health, helps lower could help lower cholesterol.
Um, and it's also full of nutrients. So o straw is one that was new for me last year. I started trying to do a little research and learn a little bit about it and I really have began to like it a lot. It has a lot of nutrient content in it. So it's a really good one. This one is holy basil or tulsi which is a great adaptogen. It helps to reduce stress levels, helps to improve your sleep, helps with depression and mood issues, and just helps to balance you out. It's also um good for heart health. It's a good anti-inflammatory. It's holy basil is like really really good for you and one of the greatest adaptogens.
This is dandelion root, which is great as a detox herb. It's good for detoxing your liver and your kidneys and for good liver and kidney health and function.
It's a good diuretic, a natural diuretic. It's antioxidant. It's good for your digestion.
Dandelion root is definitely one to have. Now, the leaf, all parts of the dandelion is edible and usable. the leaf, the flour, the root, all parts.
This one is raspberry leaf, which is an antioxidant.
And it's really good for women. It's good for mothers. It is good for morning sickness when you're pregnant. It helps with uterine health. It is good for menstrual cramps.
And this is a pretty good one. So, um it's hard for us to grow raspberries here. They don't really like our heat so much. But I planted a raspberry plant um earlier this spring, and I'm growing it primarily for the red raspberry leaf.
The fruit's pretty great, too. So, if we get raspberries, that will just be a plus.
This is red clover flower. The little flower tops on red clover. Red clover is a great uh cover crop for us. So, the pollinators love it. The deer love it, but the pollinators love it. Um, it's a great ground cover. It's a good weed suppressor. It's excellent for the garden. I planted uh red clover all in the orchard like in between the rows on the pathways and it just looked beautiful and I was able to harvest some because it also has a lot of medicinal benefits. It's good for menopause. It's good for perry menopause for all of my friends out there who are going through it. I feel your pain and it is it's great to make a tea out of this for menopause. It's also good for some allergy relief. It's also good to help build uh bone density and it's good for heart health. So, red clover flower tops. I have this in our um sweet relief allergy tea.
I've still got a lot of herbs here, y'all, to get labeled, wiped off, and labeled and get put back on this apothecary chest today.
And I love sitting here talking to y'all and telling y'all a little bit about each herb and cuz I'm just so passionate about herbs and I just love them and I love sharing the benefits of herbs with y'all just because I know how much they can help people naturally.
And um you know, I could sit here and talk to you about these herbs all day long, but this video would end up being 3 hours long or longer, and we just can't do that. So, y'all just stay tuned with us on our channel because I assure you I will be talking about herbs again.
Herbs is a main topic in just about every single one of our videos. Okay, y'all. I'm going to get this knocked out. I'm going to get all of these lab wiped off and labeled ready to go back on the shelf. And then I'll meet back with you then and show you how I'm going to organize. I finally got it finished.
So everything is labeled and it's in order. It makes sense to me.
Anyway, on this shelf, this is lemongrass, lemon balm, and lemon verbina will also be going here. I'm just out of it right now. So this is all like spice type herbs like ginger, cardamon, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon.
Um this shelf is kind of a miscellaneous. So rosemary, sage, marshmallow, blue butterfly peas in there and a hissip.
This is all mints and basil. Different kinds of basil. This is where my teapot and my tea mugs and tea diffusers go. Up here is all my roots. So like comfry root, argalus, ashwagandha root, ginger root, uh turmeric root, all that kind of thing.
In here is this is where the anukica arnica st john's wart passion flour spalanthes is down here is all of the things like oat straw plantain mother wart just different herbs but it makes sense to me the way I have things organized and down here there's echynasia back there these are my tea blends All of those are my tea blends that I just put in jars that we drink. And there's some holy basil. And then y'all know this is my essential oil drawer. That's this is my next project soon as my labels come in. This is backup herbs that I had to purchase. And then these are just extra herbs. I already have some of those up here.
This is tinctures that are ready to be used. And down here is a capsule maker that Sheila Hosol sent me. A nice gift, my cheesecloth. Then over here, I've got rose petals and lavender buds.
This is dehydrated fruit that I use in my tea blend. I've got apples, oranges, peaches. I'm out of my lemons. This is all chamomile and rosale. You can see I'm almost out of rosale. And down here is chingula. Hope today's video was helpful for you in some way. Maybe I talked about an herb that you didn't know about, introduced you to a new herb, or maybe you do know about it and you just forgot about it, but you need it in your life and I reminded you of it. that would be awesome, too. Or maybe today's video just inspired you to find a space in your home to make you an apothecary chest. Go out and grow you a couple of herbs. Even if all you can do is grow them in a pot on your balcony or your patio, just grow something. Grow an herb. Learn about that herb. Use it.
Create something from it. either a tea or a sav or a bomb or a tincture. Create something from it and I promise you, you will be hooked and before this time next year, you'll be an herbalist and you'll have a full-blown apothecary test. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel, watch this video all the way through, like it, share it, hype it, and comment.
It's tea time. and then show up next Monday night, June the 8th at 7:30 p.m.
on our live at the farm table and we will announce the winner of one of our herbal tea blends. And if you're interested in any of the herbal products that I create from our farm or any of our merch that we have to offer over on our online shop, go check it out justfarmms.com.
We sure appreciate all of your love, all of your support, and thank y'all for hanging out with me today. I'll see y'all next week in the garden. God bless you.
