P/E (Price-to-Earnings) ratio compares a company's market price to its earnings, helping investors assess how expensive a company is relative to its profits, while P/BV (Price-to-Book Value) ratio compares market value to net assets, indicating whether a stock trades above or below its tangible asset value; investors should consider both forward PE (using expected future earnings) and recent year metrics, as future projections can be overly optimistic, and remember that valuation is just a number—price is what you pay, but value is what you get.

P/E and P/BV Explained Simply | Company Valuation BasicsHinzugefügt:
Now, let's talk about valuation. Even a great company can become a bad investment if you pay too high of a price for it. One of the most common ways investors evaluate valuation is through simple multiples like PE and PBV ratios.
PE stands for price to earnings ratio.
It compares the company's market price with its earnings. In simple terms, it helps investors understand how expensive the company is relative to the profit it generates. PBV stands for price to book value. This compares the company's market value with its book value or net assets.
Some investors focus heavily on forward PE, which uses expected future earnings.
But personally, I also like to look at recent year PE and PBV because future numbers can sometimes become overly optimistic and unpredictable.
At the end of the day, valuation is just a number. As Warren Buffett famously said, "Price is what you pay. Value is what you get." I don't want this video to become too long. So, if you want a more advanced video on company and stock valuation, comment value below and I'll make a dedicated video about valuation.
