[00:00:01]We next turn over to Donald Trump and his board of peace, which was created to oversee Gaza's post-war reconstruction and is now facing a major financial crisis. According to a report, the official World Bank fund created to finance the project remains completely empty 4 months after the initiative was launched with billions of dollars in promised support.

[00:00:30]Trump had described the board as one of the most consequential international organizations ever created and announced that more than 17 billion dollars in pledged funding for Gaza's reconstruction.

[00:00:44]But despite those promises, reports say not a single dollar has been deposited into the official account managed under the World Bank structure. The plan has been stalled by continued instability in Gaza, Hamas's refusal to disarm, and growing concerns over the board's governance model. Under its charter, Trump is designated chairman for life with broad control over appointments, budgets, and funding decisions. While contributions from the UAE and Morocco have helped cover basic administrative costs, large-scale reconstruction in Gaza remains frozen on paper. Joining us once again is Robert Fantina to discuss this. Uh a lot of analysts, experts called this Donald Trump's effort to counter the United Nations after that escalator broke after he was trying to get up it. Um And now, uh we have seen, of course, the the world economic implications that this conflict is causing. And now, um Donald Trump and his board of peace seemingly um has no funds.

[00:02:03]Um Did you expect anything else?

[00:02:06]No, I really didn't because this is no one in the the region really wants Trump's plan. Trump's plan is to turn Gaza into a resort. It'll be called Trump Gaza or something.

[00:02:18]Something with his name on it. It has no input from the people of Palestine and they are entitled to to decide to determine their own future.

[00:02:28]So, this is not something that is popular throughout the Middle East. Some Middle Eastern nations that have uh uh opened diplomatic relations with Israel, the the leaders may say may see some some favorability in this, but the people throughout the Middle East and many Middle Eastern government governments reject this idea completely.

[00:02:47]This board of peace with Trump of all people as its head for life, what kind of what what experience does he have to bring peace to this region, to any region, to rebuild a country that he and his government have supported the destruction of, a country that that has and continues to be victimized by genocide financed by the United States?

[00:03:10]This whole thing, the whole board of peace makes no sense. It's completely illogical, but it's typical of Donald Trump.

[00:03:17]Now, this was one of Donald Trump's big peace deals, of course, if not the biggest. Um the the ceasefire in Gaza.

[00:03:25]Since then, we've seen nearly a thousand Palestinians killed post um this October 2025 ceasefire. Um one of the eight that he negotiated, which he consistently repeated uh over and over again. The others um being Thailand, Cambodia, um which we've seen uh break out once again. Um India-Pakistan, which he also claims to have negotiated. Um both countries reject that he finalize that.

[00:03:57]Uh what does this say about Donald Trump the peacemaker who ride endlessly for that Nobel Peace Prize?

[00:04:07]It it's it shows his his mindset. He wants the Nobel Peace Prize. He kidnapped the president of Venezuela. He's bombed he started a war with Iran. He's supporting the continuing genocide in Gaza. He's supporting Israel's war against Lebanon.

[00:04:24]It's all aggression. The and the idea that that he brokered a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Palestine is ludicrous. Not only as you said a a thousand people have been killed since then by Israel.

[00:04:39]The the part of the ceasefire was that humanitarian aid would flow into the country. That's not happening. Some aid is coming in but it's not coming in through NGOs. It's coming in through private companies that are charging people who don't have any money for food. So this ceasefire is ludicrous.

[00:04:58]I've heard it referred as a one-sided ceasefire which of course is an oxymoron because Israel rather Palestine released the remaining prisoners is refusing to disarm Hamas because we know when any aspect of the Palestinian population has disarmed previously it has resulted in almost immediate slaughter. So of course that isn't going to happen while Israel is not not maintaining any of its side of the agreement. So Donald Trump as a peacemaker saying those words in the same sentence is just ridiculous. He's a warmonger.

[00:05:36]He's a narcissist who just wants more glory for himself and he he thinks that calling himself a peacemaker does that.

[00:05:43]He also thinks that overthrowing governments and bombing them makes him famous and that's what he's looking for. But this he is a totally out of control leader on the world stage and he he's he's making continuing to to cause more unrest, more dissension and more suffering throughout the world.

[00:06:06]In terms of of the pomp and the pageantry of Donald Trump's ceasefire agreements, we have saw that big ceremony for the board of peace last year. We saw a motley crew of leaders to say the least gather on that stage with Donald Trump for him to form this body. Now seemingly since the Iran war broken out, attention has been taken away from Gaza.

[00:06:35]We saw the um once again in Southeast Asia the the Thai-Cambodia breakout where he brokered the Kuala Lumpur peace accord towards that once again broken broke out in fire and fighting had to be simmered and simmered down largely with China's involvement.

[00:06:57]But in terms of the optics and what Donald Trump wants from these peace deals is it merely this ceremony, this legacy of being a peacemaker, this title that he wants from brokering this peace and only for the longevity of it and the foundations of it to fall apart?

[00:07:18]As long as he gets some some glory at the moment. As you mentioned the the board of peace ceremonies, he was lauded and praised and and that's what he wants. The fact that it's all fallen apart since then doesn't matter. He'll look to the next the next artificial praise ceremony that he can that he can bask in. That's why he's building this golden arch uh in Washington D.C., his ballroom. These are all tributes to himself. He doesn't care about what comes afterwards. Uh with the the ceasefire, so-called ceasefire agreement in up in uh Palestine, he got the ceasefire agreement signed.

[00:07:58]The fact that Israel isn't abiding by it, and people are still dying and suffering, doesn't matter. It was signed, he was praised for that, he moves on to the next thing. It's complete hypocrisy, it's complete narcissism. He just wants to be glorified and praised, and as long as that happens, he doesn't care what what what the fallout is.
