Fish have evolved remarkable adaptations that allow them to survive in extreme and unexpected environments, including air-breathing capabilities (Florida gar), perfect camouflage (sargassum angler fish, pipe fish), and specialized feeding structures (trigger fish, needlefish), enabling them to inhabit locations like storm drains, roadside ditches, seaweed beds, and ocean tunnels where most species would not survive.

I Found Fish In Places You'd Never Think To Look...Added:
In the wild, there are fish living in places nobody would ever look. Like this angler fish that's literally living in a plastic cup. And in this video, we'll be searching crazy locations to find rare fish, creatures, and even dangerous predators. We're at the start of our path, but the closer we get to the end, the more insane the creatures will get with the craziest living underneath abandoned objects. And our goal is to give the coolest animal we find a home inside of our warehouse. Starting with our first spot, a storm drain. Now, you might be wondering, how would a fish even get inside of here? Well, this drain is actually connected directly to the ocean. So, smaller fish swim inside to seek shelter from their predators.
This sewer is borderline overflowing right now, which means there's probably a lot of fish inside of here.
>> So, we baited up our rod and dropped it down to see what we could catch.
>> So hard to feel. Oh, I'm getting bit.
I'm getting bit. Leave it. Leave it.
Leave it. Bet. Are you sure? Oh my god.
OH MY GOD. AND RIGHT AWAY, WE CAUGHT A CHECKERED puffer fish. These guys are practically baby piranhas. As soon as a shrimp hits the water, you know they're going to be all over it. But as we move through this video, the fish only get crazier. Bringing us to our next spot, this disgusting roadside ditch. There's only 4 in of water in here, and it's over 100°. Most fish would die in here within minutes. But before we start searching through this disgusting water, we grabbed a bunch of gear for today's spot off Teeu. We got fishing reels, hooks, nets, and even this little critter key.
>> So, I'm going to drift this tiny bait fish through the ditch, and whatever eats it is going to be big. Someone's biting it.
Is that a snook? Snook? Oh my gosh, that is the rarest. What? That's insane. Are we hallucinating?
>> And as you can see, even we were shocked by what we caught. A snook. But that wasn't the fish we were after. So, we quickly released him and kept fishing.
Huge thanks to Teeu for sponsoring today's video because right now they're hooking you guys up with an insane deal.
All you have to do is download the Teimu app and enter our code into the search bar to grab 3 to 10 items for $0. Oh, there there he is. I see one. I see one.
I see one right under the couch. Right under the couch. And the most important part is you enter the code into the search bar before shopping or the deal won't apply. Once you type it in, you can unlock all kinds of stuff. Fishing gear, outdoor gadgets, tackle nets. They even have high-end brands like JBL and Beats. So, if you guys want to check it out, type in our code that's popping up onto the screen into the T-Moon search bar or hit the link in the description before the deal disappears. Give me a beat. Give me a bait. Give me a beat.
Suspect coming out the right. Coming out the right. He's in about 2 in of water.
>> Oh my god. I see him. I see him. I see him. He's on it.
>> He got it. He's got the tail.
>> Oh my god.
>> You can get the head.
>> These things are hard to catch, dude.
>> Can't see him.
>> Hit him.
>> Nice, Jake.
>> I GOT HIM. GET DOWN THERE.
>> Get down there. Get down there. Get down there.
>> Get down there.
>> He's heavy. Chris, get him.
>> I GOT HIM. LET'S GO.
>> LET'S GO. LET'S GO.
>> LET'S GO. NEVER send fish GUY CHRIS.
HERE. GET ME out of here.
>> Let's freaking go. The air breather.
That is the only fish that could possibly live in that 2in deep creek.
>> This is a Florida gar. And the reason they can survive in water this bad is because they're actually air breathers.
They can swim to the surface and gulp oxygen straight from the air, allowing them to live in hot, stagnant ditches where most fish would suffocate. These prehistoric predators have been around for over a 100 million years, can grow over 4 ft long, and their mouths are packed with rows of razor sharp needle teeth built for grabbing fish.
>> OKAY, THERE GOES JACK.
>> OKAY, THERE GOES JACK.
>> WILLIE. WILLIE.
>> There goes E. There he goes.
>> Now I'm pissed. All right, buddy. See you later. That's a crazy fish, dude.
That thing can live on land pretty much.
>> Went right back under the weeds.
>> How's your ass?
>> I smell like gar. I'm in a swamp.
>> You look like a gar. Question for the comments. Does Jack look more like a needlefish or a gar? Give me 6 months.
>> I say he's a gar.
>> Give me 6 months. I'm going to be a goliath.
>> We literally just stumbled across this abandoned pool and I actually see fish swimming inside of here. So, if this video gets 150,000 likes, we're coming back and we're going to catch the fish.
And if you thought that spot was crazy, well, we're about to find out. Our next spot will blow your mind. But we're not searching in the water. We're searching in the sea. It might just look like yellow floating grass, but it's actually a home to millions of camouflaged creatures. And when you pick it up and shake it out, you can find things from shrimp all the way to angler fish.
>> Look at all this seaweed moving through the inlet.
>> That is pounds of weed.
>> I mean, my net is full.
>> Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. File fish. No way.
>> Wildfish. No way. Seaweed file, >> dude. That is so sick.
>> That is sick.
>> This is a plain head file fish. One of the many fish hiding in the seaweed.
Their flat bodies and rough skin help them blend in perfectly to avoid predators. But right as I was checking out his camouflage, he flopped out of my hand and got stuck in the rocks, leaving him to dry out. Are you kidding me?
>> I knew that was going to >> Where is he? Stay strong and don't give up.
>> He's right down there.
>> Stay strong. Don't give up.
>> Not in the water.
>> Come on.
>> No. Timmy's in here.
>> Chris, stay strong.
>> Timmy's done.
>> Timmy's dead. There he is.
>> Got Timmy.
>> Put him in the critter keeper. Please take him. Put him in here. Timmy, never back down. Never. What? Don't ever give up. Thank you. I I hear I hear something. I hear something serious right here. Big file. Big file.
>> God. Way bigger than Timmy. That's a giant.
>> So, we got Timmy and Johnson. Oh, another file.
>> Little little guy.
>> That guy's tiny, dude. But you can see just how orange he is. He'll blend right in with that seaweed.
>> It was clear that this seaweed was loaded with fish. So, we kept scooping because there's crazier creatures to find.
>> Don't break my net, bro. That's going to break big wood right there.
>> Our favorite neck.
It's >> good, right?
>> Did you just eat that?
>> Something's wrong with him. Like I tell you guys every single video.
>> I mean, when you see when you just see that dent, this could solve a lot of issues in the world. And I might be the first one onto it.
>> After searching through this scoop, we found tons of seaweed crabs, shrimp, and even a baby Bermuda chop, which led us to believe there was a seaweed monster lurking about. OH MY GOD. ANGLER.
ANGLER. ANGLER. ANGLER. ANGLER. ANGLER.
Holy cow. Oh my god. Oh my god. Seaweed angler fish. Seaweed angler. No way. No freaking way. Let's go, dude.
>> That might be the rarest creature we're going to find today.
>> This is a sargasm angler fish. One of the most perfectly camouflaged predators in the entire ocean. They spend their lives hiding inside floating seaweed where they blend in almost perfectly, waiting for small fish and shrimp to swim too close. Comment down below the craziest creature you've ever heard of.
The top comet we're going to try and buy to keep in our warehouse. But in our next scoop, we found a fish that we've never seen before.
>> OH, PIPE FISH. PIPE FISH. PIPE FISH.
PIPE FISH. HOLY COW. GOD, JACK. Holy cow. Come here, pipe. Let's go. That's what we were hunting all day.
>> This little fish is called a pipe fish.
A close relative of the seahorse. Their long, skinny bodies let them blend perfectly into floating seaweed where they hide from predators and sneak up on tiny shrimp to eat. And just like seahorses, it's actually the male pipe fish that carries the eggs. But right after finding that rare fish, we found something even crazier.
>> Oh my god. Giant angler. Shut up.
>> Shut up. You found the mother.
>> This thing's huge.
>> OH MY GOD.
>> Size of THIS ANGLER.
>> OH MY GOD. He's huge.
>> Oh my god.
I've never seen him. We need a bigger.
>> Are you kidding me? That thing's the size of a baseball. All of our creatures going into a bigger container so you guys can get a really good look at them.
Holy cow, >> there's so many. There's a pipe fish, two angler fish, a pipe fish, two crabs, and two file fish. And as we let all these creatures go, you can see just how perfectly they blend into the seaweed.
But not only are there millions of fish living inside this stuff, most people don't realize sargasm is actually one of the best baits to catch expensive aquarium fish. So to prove it, we put a piece on a hook and threw it out to see what we could catch. And right away, we got a bite. Come on, Jack. Get him. He's got me hung slung right now. He's going to get you off. Oh, >> that's what we do.
>> That is what we do right there. That is what we do.
>> Let's go.
>> Beautiful prince. Oh, he just came off.
Hook in my hand. That's how you turn seaweed into an aquarium fish right there. This is a princess parrot fish.
Their beak-like mouths are strong enough to scrape algae straight off the rocks.
And believe it or not, parrot fish are responsible for creating a lot of the white sand you see on tropical beaches.
That parrot fish was crazy. But this next spot might be the creepiest one yet. a secret hidden tunnel that connects all the way to the ocean. Fish love hiding inside these tunnels because they're dark, protected, and packed with fresh moving water. And since schools of tiny bait fish get swept right through, predators can just sit there and wait for an easy meal to swim by. All this running water is coming straight from the tunnel. That means all those fish are getting pushed down this stream out to the open ocean. Who knows how deep this tunnel goes. I mean, there could be a shark living in here. I'm going to do a small investigation. See how deep I can get inside this thing. Freaking scary in there, man. Look at this freaking spider. If I get bit by that thing, I'm done. I'm going in. Oh my god. I can hear my voice echoing.
Oh my god. This is horrifying. What the hell was that? I'm just going to do some swiping. Wa! What's that? Did you see that? Right on my head cam. Right under this log.
Wa!
There's fish in here, dude. I think he's over here.
Got him. Let's go. Baby puffer living inside the tunnel. Look at him. He's blown up like a balloon. That's crazy.
There's got to be more fish in here.
Let's let this guy go downstream. Ready?
Woo! Like a little balloon. Deflate, buddy. After confirming there were fish living inside the tunnel, it was time to step things up. So, we broke out some shrimp, baited our hook, and started casting it into the tunnel. But there was one problem. The current was ripping so hard that it kept sweeping our bait right back out before anything got the chance to eat it. That current is going way too fast. We're going to have to switch up our strategy here. Oh, this is what we call close quarters fishing.
We're going in the tunnel with the rod.
We got an 8ft rod. That means we can get about 10 ft back in here. Try and keep it as far back in there as I can. I'm getting nibbles. Oh, I got one. I got one fish in there. I got one. Oh, let's go. Snapper. I knew there was a snapper in there. Not a mangrove either. That's a dog. Look how pretty that thing is.
Holy cow. He's just living back there. I mean, if that if I'm a fish, that's where I would be. It's probably literally a never-ending buffet of food that's just coming right at you. Why would you ever leave that? I know Chris wouldn't. I wouldn't. That was a buffet.
>> I love buffets. This might just look like a tiny fish now, but this is actually a baby dog snapper, a predator that can grow over 3 ft long. As they get bigger, their jaws become insanely powerful, allowing them to crush crabs, shrimp, and smaller fish. But it was time to make another cast deeper into the tunnel.
>> Oh, more bites. Something's pulling.
Something's pulling. Something's pulling. Got it. I think. OH, NEEDLEFISH. NEEDLE FISH. NEEDLE FISH.
Needle fish. It's probably feeding on all those glass windows in there. Holy cow. Look at that. You do not want to get bit by that guy right there.
>> This is a needlefish. And they are some of the fastest predators along the shoreline, using their long torpedo-shaped bodies to explode through the water chasing bait fish. Their jaws are packed with razor sharp teeth designed for grabbing slippery prey before they can escape.
>> This dude has so much yellow underneath his mouth and inside of his mouth. I've literally never seen that before. It's a neon needle. We're going to name you Neon, buddy.
>> See you, bud.
>> So, we let the needle go and headed to our final destination, a spot only accessible by boat.
>> We're out here in the middle of the ocean to find fish underneath floating objects. Out in the ocean, debris, logs, and even trash float here from all over the world, picking up creatures along the way. These creatures use the floating structures as shelter from the big predators that lurk in these waters.
This is a giant buoy that we just stumbled across while looking for floating debris. So, to prove there's fish living underneath it, we're going to cast this bait right under it. Fish on. First fish. What do we got?
If that ain't an aquarium fish, I don't know what is. I mean, that is a nice trigger. This guy is living down there.
That is something you definitely do not want to get bit by. This is a gray trigger fish. They've got insanely strong jaws built for crushing hard shelled prey like crabs and sea urchins.
And when these fish get territorial, they'll actually chase divers and attack anything that gets too close. But we let this guy go and kept fishing underneath the buoy. Another one. Another one.
HOLY. WHAT THE HECK is that? WHAT IS THAT? WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE AN ORFISH?
>> THAT'S AN insane fish.
>> What is this? I've never seen this before in my life. That's a never-before caught. Oh my god. All because it's right under this buoy, MAN. OH. OH, HOLY.
OH MY GOD. HE'S GOT THE FREAKING CRAZIEST TEETH. He just beat it right in the hand, bro.
>> This is a pearly razor fish, a colorful predator covered in bright blues, pinks, and yellow markings. Even though they look harmless, their mouths are lined with a sharp teeth built for grabbing prey. And if danger gets too close, they can launch themselves straight into the sand and completely disappear in seconds. And as beautiful as this fish was, we released him and casted another bait under the buoy.
>> I'm on another fish. Light line here.
Ultra light line. Here we go. Oh my god.
OH MY GOD. MULIO. MATIO. No way. Baby Mulio. BABY MIO. Let's go. We have caught some serious aquarium fish here.
>> This is a scrolled file fish. One of the weirdest fish living around the reefs.
And even though they don't look intimidating, those teeth can do some serious damage. We found some insane fish today, but only one was worthy enough to come back from the warehouse.
The sargasm anglerfish. This sargasm angler fish is going to be the perfect addition to our mini predator tank.
He'll fit in perfectly with Nanners, our banana eel, and Finn, our baby shark.
Everyone drop a comment of what you guys think we should name this guy down in the comments cuz he is a true one-of-a-kind fish. I mean, that is amazing. Look at that thing.
