An evidence-based immigration policy should be selective and based on national interest, considering factors such as cultural compatibility, fiscal impact on public services, economic contribution, and public safety, rather than being driven by ideological or emotional considerations.

Green Party: Immigration Debate is About to Get Even More INSANE in Britain – SDP's William CloustonAdded:
When I hear about the SDP as as the kind of conservative left, I I kind of think, oh, maybe that's me. I'm always wondering what what am I and all of the and I think many people in the audience as well, everyone's sort of wondering where they fit in today's thing. But then when I hear conservative left, I also sort of think of, as we just mentioned, David Cameron and and people like that. And it's like this this mass immigration, this kind of really, you know, so >> what are they then? Conservative super left or what are they? Or not conservative? I suppose >> they're not conservative. No, they're they're sort of blar centrists and it's awful really. They're just liberals of various kinds. The trouble is you got liberals everywhere.
>> Uh, [clears throat] you know, and I think [sighs] in summary, most of our problems are sort of downstream of a lot of too much social liberalism, too much economic liberalism, arguably sexual liberalism as well, which is a slightly different topic. Louise Perry talks about that.
Uh, and and those are the difficulties and and so the the in politics they're everywhere. I mean, the number of people, Andrew, that actually think like us in the Tory party is quite small. You know, there are a few Nick Timothy, you know, actually Danny Krueger is quite like us, but he's gone to reform, which is quite challenging. Miriam Kates, one or two others, and then and then you've got the blue labor thing, which but it's all very niche this. I mean, I think we were chatting before, you know, um most people don't know about these little groups.
>> Yeah.
>> But the odd thing is that most people sort of agree with us. So, I'm in a pub and I talk about these things. Yeah. Do you think it's a good idea that we've de-industrialized and the Midlands and the North, you know, have all these people unemployed and we're not building power stations, we're importing energy and you're getting poorer. Most people are our side. They know they can see it.
>> That's interesting. What about um there was a a point system immigration system that I think you you were in in favor of. How would that work? Well, we're sort of yeah, we are that's that was the immigration policy we we we published last year for the manifesto for the So, everyone is I mean I think there's a massive vibe shift on migration identity uh generally happening right now. I mean it's it's shifting rapidly. The basic idea is that you should have immigration in the national interest and you should have immigration which is evidence-based >> and I you know for years people like Cameron actually people like Cameron all all the new labor people used to run around saying evidence-based policy you know that's what we want evidence-based you know it was like a a vibe and um but they never did it like if you had evidence-based policy a lot of groups that we allowed to come into the country culturally dissimilar >> I would describe as quite backward society uh you wouldn't get in. You wouldn't have them on the evidence because they're disproportionately fiscally negative, very burdensome to the state in terms of social services, housing, very high rates of unemployment and economic inactivity, and also very high in certain groups, very high higher rates of violent crime, sexual assault, and murder at the extreme level. So, if you had an evidence-based system, which we advocate, you'd be far more selective about who you let into the country. And um the country of course would be better off because it's got to be in the national interest. You're not helping any citizen, no matter what their background in Britain if you if you're not selective about migration. Got to be. Can I ask you a favor?
