Puppies undergo rapid developmental changes in their first two weeks: at 7 days old, they are blind, deaf, and move by scooting on their bellies, while by 14 days old, their eyes open and they begin walking on wobbly legs, though their inner ears continue developing until 3 weeks old when they can finally hear. During this critical early period, intentional handling including ear rubbing, tummy rubs, paw touching, and back stroking helps puppies become accustomed to human touch, preparing them for future interactions like nail trims, baths, and affection from their family.

Two Weeks Old. Puppies eyes are open!Added:
I give you all of my love. Give you every touch. Till the sky turns to star dust.
I get lost in your life. There's a look in your eyes.
It sure took its sweet time, but spring has finally made its way to Lake of the Woods. The days are warming up, the trees are budding, and the birds have returned.
My heart beats an one week brings a whole lot of change when you're a puppy in the second week of life. At 7 days old, the puppies are blind, deaf, and scoot themselves around on their bellies. At 14 days old, the puppies can all see and are getting used to moving around on their wobbly legs.
While they are not running yet, they are well on their way to being the floppy puppies we love to play with.
Even though their eyes are open to take in the world now, their inner ears are still developing at 14 days old. By 3 weeks old, their ears will unseal and we will have puppies that can hear our voices as we talk to them.
>> Having three mamas in the house now, puppy rearing has been a family affair.
Luna and Sky love babies and take every opportunity to be with the puppies.
Haley has taken those moments to get her belly scratches and head rubs or cool off on the tile floor.
During these first two weeks with the puppies, we are intentional with how we handle them. We make sure to rub their ears, their tummies, gently touch their paws, and rub their backs all the way down to the tip of their tail. This touch exposure is getting them used to all the touching that comes in a human world. From nail trims and baths to affection from their awaiting family.
Now, here's the growth update for these pups at 2 weeks old.
