[00:00:04]Thank you for staying with us. This is still the morning spring on Western Spring TV television. Right about now we get to talk about the state of the state, the state of Lin Bengal, you know, smarting off uh different um political primaries, party primaries or political parties and um the reactions from even party members within some of them complaining about manipulation, some of them talking about their high-handedness of their leaders. Um you know uh some would say maybe this is not new especially in the all progressives congress in ocean state where you remember the election that produced ashola amber of the APC that particular primary was so controversial because many of his co aspirants at the time were disqualified on um you know allegation or offenses of not properly filling forms you know being properly nominated according to the party guidelines um you know many of them at the time you know the man who is now senatorial candidate in the same party Dr. Prince Senator Mish you know and many of them at the time but one name as you know stood out out of the lot that's the name of the former a former deputy uh governor a former senator a former national secretary of that same party progressives congress and tongs have been wagging that maybe the and felt so spited at the time even when others attended a meeting you know at the villa he wasn't there but then he was seen on a live TV you know bearing his mind about what truly happened in fact he called it a joke at the time you know and one truly will wonder how will you say apart from being a former deputy governor you know even in the early days of this republic you know apart from being a senator was a former national secretary and with the president. He even spoke to how he came through for him at that time you know but this is what we are seeing and it will appear that the grievances from the man is still on. Well, few weeks ago, we saw a purported meeting, you know, a truce between himself and the leader of the party in Ocean State, uh, former governor, the current minister of Marina Blue Economy, Raju Goah. We had the exchange and shake. But then on this program, we had many of their disciples from both camp saying, where are the communicators? What are they saying? you know handlers or uh party members were just going to town to say oh all is well they've mended the offenses but nothing from the omissionary camp nothing from the camp and with what has been happening it is appearing that the omic camp is a bit cold on this matter maybe the grievances is still there yesterday on the program we had the former chra secretary to the same alligator while he was a governor Isma and he spoke on a range of things about the state of the state and he mentioned really which has gone very controversial now that Senator Yolo Mish should really be a party man that before he became a national secretary many persons came through for him including his at the time that he benefited from the benevolence of go and if he's talking about imposition that while he matched as a national secretary or in other capacity he was imposed as some persons as well. So why is he appearing quote and unquote to be crying now you know on this matter? So of course when such statements are made there will be a right of reply. The missionaries block of the APC um you know sought for a right of reply and they are being represented money by former commissioner youth and sport in the state. Honorable Yawa is in our studios. Ma is that irrespective of that truce quote unquote truce that photo ops that we saw between um you know yellow your principal and that in which no communicate till date some feel something is wrong there might still be nurses from grievances you know we're talking about this particular graphics here and that he hasn't spoken really the party campaign is on. He hasn't been seen. Many of his disciples like yourself has not been seen even while maybe few names have been thrown up in the campaign structure. They have not been vocal. And so when we feel that your principal is feeling betrayed, do you think the APC really with the leader structure betrayed your principal and why is still not uh you know but why I think we should have this video before we continue.

[00:05:52]say there's nothing complaining about today that he has not benefited from when he was when he was made national secretary of the party. He wasn't the best candidate at the time. I was involved in his emergence. I knew what to did.

[00:06:08]>> I'm sure he emerged against odds and so if you say they imposing somebody on you today, you had been imposed on some other person in the past.

[00:06:20]is just like I said he has benefited before so it's time to work for the party and so who betrayed who here is he that is betraying the party by not you know toying the agreement of the party or is it that has betrayed your principal >> um thank you very much um Mr. Fem >> let me first of all um appreciate um every listener here today.

[00:06:47]>> I must say very clearly and very categorically that senator Mishi has played his part. He has done what is expected of a statesman. He has supported the party in the past and he has promised to continue to support the party. But what we have playing out in Ocean State now is an abomination. Why do I call it that?

[00:07:08]>> How so? You don't run a party like you're running a company. This is a political party and a political party belongs to everyone. Everybody deserves a voice. Everyone should be seen to a political party should be seen to be very participatory.

[00:07:24]And you don't go ahead and continue to disqualify people and expect them to come out and begin to run here and there for you. Senator Yola Mishi was um disqualified December last year. There was no primaries to pick the current candidate of the party. So when people come out to say the primaries that held in December, I want to ask you what's the figure? How many votes returned Baloamei as the candidate of the party? Who and who contested at the primaries? So how do you now come about the primaries that held? There was no primaries. There was only selection. And when you select people definitely you are going to have um some there will be issues and um I must come here and correct whatever is saying unfortunately is a colleague we serve together while he was the chief press secretary I was the commissioner for youth and sports >> and I can say clearly that he's saying so much that he doesn't know about >> tell us >> he mentioned yesterday that has benefited from imposition What is the meaning of imposition?

[00:08:33]Imposition is when you have a law a number of people contesting for a position and you are imposed against the will of the people contested to become the national secretary. Myself and the current governor of cross river state today senator basoto were the returning officers were open for the election. But the same people that you are saying that he was imposed upon did they withdraw from the election? Yes or no? They withdrew from the election because there was no way they could have won the election. And you should remember that got the nomination of every governor over 99% of the people had supported him of all the state of the federation. So how were the other contestants going to win him? So he should understand that yolish is a democrat. It's someone that believes in allowing people to participate and let the will of the people prevail. So how has >> there were unseen hands?

[00:09:31]>> How do you mean of who worked underneath for those governors that you talked about to support him?

[00:09:39]>> Okay. Now let me let me >> in politics isn't it?

[00:09:41]>> Let me let me state this very clearly today. May God rest the soul of his excellency and um to God be the glory. One of the governors at the time is still very much alive. his excellency.

[00:09:55]They worked behind the scene to ensure that emerged and I can tell you that has been in politics for decades. He has built networks that eventually worked for him during that time. They were the ones that called on him to say that come at this point if you remember May Malabuni was the chairman of the party at that time and it was a caretaker committee that was set up. So they needed experienced people to ple the affairs of the party. So they called on him that they needed him to serve.

[00:10:24]Unfortunately when APC was created in 2014, the first chairman of the party was chie from the southwest. The next chairman was his excellency Adam Mole from the south south. So ordinarily they are taking the national chairman to the north. The national secretary should ordinarily come to the south and it should go to the southeast. But because these people wanted yolish to be the one to assist in ensuring that the party was well grounded, they found a way of zoning and yolish participated in ensuring that the zoning was done to the southwest and it was done to assume state particularly. So when we are talking about people supporting someone to become national secretary, we should be mindful because some of these things that went down um he was definitely above um isipidon's pay grade. He doesn't know some of these things. about support and working for the emergence >> whatever work was done on a very huge and um viable scale you'd rather count the late aeti and kodi that they are the ones who really did the work and not annoy >> yeah I would say they were the ones that called on senator yolish and some other allies of senator yolish to come around and when the pressure was on yish had to come and meet the governor to tell him exactly what was going on that people are calling me to come out and contest and I must equally tell you inform you about it then play this role but for somebody like is coming here to arrogate every responsibility >> thing didn't happen at all >> how who imposed who on who >> all right that truth that my colleague was talking about as you've seen in the pictures you know um that meeting that happened at um with um Zabisak I'd like to ask you what a true picture of that is at this time and was there I mean a promise or commitment or support by to support the ganial race or ambition of Senator Yong Mishi and um was it broken? Was there a commitment or support? Was it broken? Was there you know a disagreement at any point? I mean for him to feel entitled you know to that.

[00:12:39]>> Who is feeling entitled?

[00:12:42]Senator Senator Mish is not feeling entitled. I think you should understand the situation. When you are running for an election, you should tell everyone and carry everybody along. But it doesn't mean that everybody should support you. Mish informed his excellency about his ambition.

[00:13:01]Definitely he sought his support. He has a right to either support him or not support him. That is not an issue. The issue here is we were supposed to go for a primaries that we were prepared for and we were going to win the primaries 85%.

[00:13:15]>> Why do you know that?

[00:13:16]>> Because we have our statistics because we know what we did. Every member of the party was with us. Every reasonable member of the party and I can tell you categorically the number of local governments we were going to win. We had the highest number of registered members of the party with us. And that was why they did what they did by going around to disqualify people that were going to actually emerge. And the result is what we are seeing today. And it is not just about disqualifying yolish. It is about the style they using to run the party.

[00:13:45]They just just had another round of primaries. What is the result? There are agitations everywhere in my federal constituency. What is the result? There were three contestants. One was imposed on every other person. Go to we have the same issue. go to Ephe, go to land, um, go to. So we have this problem repeating itself everywhere.

[00:14:08]Unfortunately, this is not the best way to run a political party. So what do we do? We are going to just fold our arms and be watching them.

[00:14:14]>> So what's the state of the truth? Is there a truce?

[00:14:18]>> There is actually no fight. We are here.

[00:14:20]We all members of the party.

[00:14:21]>> Truth.

[00:14:21]>> There is no reason for any truth.

[00:14:23]Everybody is watching.

[00:14:24]>> What was that meeting about?

[00:14:26]>> What meeting are you talking about?

[00:14:27]>> The meeting that we just had. There was a meeting broker. Yeah, this particular one, what was it about?

[00:14:33]>> Okay, there was a meeting called by our elder statesman, Chief Bish A, >> right?

[00:14:37]>> Wonderful man. Uh, may God continue to bless everything he represents. He has been trying to ensure that we make peace within the party. He called a meeting where his excellency Senator Yalish went and um his excellency was equally part of the meeting and they had some agreement. Yeah. Not for >> Yeah. They had an agreement to ensure that the party runs effectively. They had an agreement to ensure that every member of the party is allowed to participate in the forthcoming primaries. But unfortunately, we all know what happened afterwards. His excellency has been the one running the affairs of the party.

[00:15:14]>> Are you saying reined on anything that was agreed at that meeting?

[00:15:19]>> I want to believe so.

[00:15:21]>> What was the agreement? The agreement is everybody should be given a fair opportunity to participate to contest.

[00:15:29]Have you seen the lua because there have been that concern you remember uh pre 2022 there was that problem with the lua camp the top campa at the time where you know the friction was there and some would say that particular inhouse fighting played a huge part in the loss by the APS. Maybe that might not be the only reason but why APC lost out, why your government lost out at the time and you were not reelected. Some saying the same thing is almost being repeated right now that the Liolua camp is always bossing the other blocks. You know there is the um SRJ camp maybe the Albara group your camp as well that of I mean know these are big weeks and give it to anybody.

[00:16:17]Yellow missionary is not a small fish.

[00:16:19]when the Osho state um you know governorship election was held 1999 to 2003 that was when he was deputy so he knows what he's doing why does why is that concern that of course under the leadership of are the ones bossing everybody is it because an that's your boss cannot really hold his own really to prove his metal or lower camp is just the infant in ABC.

[00:16:56]>> The only response I have to that is um what we call abuse of privilege.

[00:17:01]>> How do you mean?

[00:17:02]>> Um some people within the party today are privileged to be associated with Mr. President and they using the privilege to ensure that nobody has a voice and that's why I call it abuse of privilege.

[00:17:16]>> What those people?

[00:17:18]>> Wow. You mentioned a few camps just now and um I'm sure Mr. Fei just mentioned that some camps have been busting everybody else.

[00:17:26]>> The Lua camp.

[00:17:27]>> That's what the street is saying.

[00:17:28]>> That's what the street bust your camp >> I'm not I'm not on the street. I'm in my own house. But I know for a fact >> that's our job to tell you what the street has.

[00:17:35]>> So I know for a fact that there is abuse of privilege.

[00:17:40]>> Why so?

[00:17:42]>> Because that is that is a function of inexperience.

[00:17:44]>> Do you know how to say why so? Your camp autom's camp your principle in fact let me mention him was pressed to the high heavens by Mr. president on his emergence and I think people should see that clearly >> to the entire members of the National Working Committee and particularly the secretary of the party who had worked with him collecting some forms, doing everything administratively to get us to comply with the requirement of national electoral commission.

[00:18:41]We thank you for a good job done and you've navigated the ship ship to get us to this destination.

[00:18:58]The the ship did not sink or w anchor well on the president elect.

[00:19:15]two takeaway for me here Mr. Law this is Mr. president when he emerged and he had to mention you know why he praised others collectively. He mentioned some names. He cloned it out of your principle to say he did everything for us to comply. He f some forms make sure everything run well and so he tempt him profusely publicly here he's on record. So you will say that person's closeness and um the appreciation that was given by Mr. President at that time are you saying it counts for nothing and some persons will rather use their closeness maybe family closeness to outshine all of that? That's number one.

[00:20:00]Number two, now does miss feel spited the way that disqualification was done because somebody who could put up everything that has to do with administration or forms for Mr. President doesn't know how to fill his own form. Does he feel spit really?

[00:20:18]>> So thank you very much. Let me start from what um Mr. President said. Mr. President singled only yoloish out out of everybody in this country because played a very very significant role to ensure that Mr. President emerged. There was no abuse of office while he was there as the national secretary and he ensured that everything was done right to ensure that Mr. President emerged.

[00:20:45]And I'll tell you that that speech was actually the turning point. That was the beginning of envy. That was the beginning of PATA. 3 months into the administration of Mr. President, Yola Mishu was taken out as the national secretary >> because of this speech.

[00:21:01]>> Oh definitely. This was the beginning of envy from whatever quarters a lot of people from Oshu state are beginning to see that Yellow Mish is going to become the the the golden fish in that government and there was a need for them to crush him at all cost. They took him out of the office of the national secretary. He never complained. He didn't go to the press.

[00:21:22]>> There are some that feel maybe Abdullah Adamu was the target. It was just a collateral damage to well whatever you call it the real situation is he was taken out of the office of the national secretary.

[00:21:34]>> Um Abdullah Ganduj who became the national chairman afterwards they all part of the system till today. What kind of engagement was given to you afterwards? Nothing. He came out again to say that he's interested in becoming the governor of a state. Not just because he felt he should become the governor but because some of us felt okay this is the right person. We went to him we begged him and it took us a couple of months to talk to him to ensure that he comes >> get the n of Mr. President.

[00:22:02]>> Oh definitely.

[00:22:04]>> Oh definitely. He told Mr. President don't forget that you're Mr. President endorse.

[00:22:09]>> How do you mean endorsement?

[00:22:11]>> Give him the go.

[00:22:11]>> If you go ahead if you go ahead to tell someone that you are contesting and he says I wish you the best. What was that?

[00:22:18]That's the way it is done to many other aspirants. So that's the way was taken to the president Mr. President told him.

[00:22:24]So for me it is not Mr. President here.

[00:22:26]>> So that speech turned things around.

[00:22:28]>> Yeah. The speech was the beginning of envy on the part of people that are abusing their privilege >> especially for oceans >> maybe.

[00:22:35]>> So I the second part is the way the manner the disqualification was done because in your introduction you said whatever was done in December you don't regard that as a primary because figures were not even returned. No, >> it was more like a selection and a position.

[00:22:50]>> Oh, yes.

[00:22:51]>> So, does that make him feel ridiculed?

[00:22:54]>> Uh, well, if you look at the way the whole thing played out, it showed that we are not prepared as a party.

[00:23:00]>> It showed we are not prepared as an opposition party in the state to take over the state. It shows that we don't for me it showed lack of experience.

[00:23:08]>> Okay. So, what are you saying? So what I'm saying is we have not been able to do things right and we are still not correcting the wrongs that we did in the past.

[00:23:17]>> And are you saying that will cost you August 15?

[00:23:20]>> I wouldn't know. It is the will of the people that will prevail.

[00:23:23]>> All right. Can you confirm to us specifically the roles Ollah played in the emergence or um of omission as the party secretary at the time?

[00:23:33]>> Ollah was the sitting governor of the state at the time. So we needed his blessing as much as we needed the blessing of every other state governor in APC at the time. So he played his role as the sitting governor and thanks to him >> and that was >> and that's it.

[00:23:46]>> You said what role did he play? I have I have just told you that he played his role as a sitting governor and thanks to him. I also like to ask you at the time when the the the the the plot you know to block Governor Adola dele from joining the APC was on Senator Yola Misher was on the front burner of that.

[00:24:06]In fact he was the spokesperson. Would you call that a desperate attempt to you know >> seal his you know um >> his significance or his candidacy in the party at the time especially without the backing or seeming support from the man that gave him his support once. So the thing you should clearly understand here is at the time came to talk to the entire nation about governor demo coming into the party he had not declared his intention to run. He was not even in the country. It was his excellency the current minister of marine and blue economy excellency that called on him to explain to him that there were issues that he should quickly come back to the country so that they can ensure that they put the party in the right perspective. He came into the country, they told him everything that was ongoing and he played his part towards ensuring that our party is formidable enough to go for the elections. And at the time you must realize that has so much respect for at the time he was thinking that was going to come and run again for his second term. So he was doing everything to protect not knowing that was equally using him for some other reason. So what's the state of that respect now? Has it diminished? Has it vanished?

[00:25:29]>> The respect is still there. They still have mutual respect for each other. But you see um at some point when you get to a point in life, it is better to watch situations um unfold.

[00:25:38]>> All right. There's a part I mean your party has a candidate now has um a senator missionary throwing his weight behind this candidacy. Now he working for him.

[00:25:51]>> How do you want him to work for him?

[00:25:54]Why will he not work for her? When you're talking about people working for people, how >> you allow me is still a member of APC.

[00:26:01]By being a member of the party, is he not working for him?

[00:26:03]>> Is he is he working for >> By being a member? He hasn't resigned.

[00:26:07]>> He hasn't resigned his membership of the party.

[00:26:10]>> Is he putting his resources and his men in place to allow I mean to work for Amber to emerge? You see is a veteran in politics is a true indigen wants the best for the people of the states and I will tell you categorically here let the will of the people prevail.

[00:26:34]You are here for a while. Will you been working for Amber?

[00:26:38]>> I have just one vote >> and that's all. And you vote for him?

[00:26:46]>> But in this case, let me ask you something now that we appear like um your boss was played. All right. But some wonder that Misha with his stature in politics should have maybe foreseen the particular situation, you know, because of who he was, who he is that maybe he's being played. You say he was even trying to protect um ambition.

[00:27:13]>> And now at the end of the day, he was played. Why didn't he foresee that?

[00:27:16]That's number one. Because it's about for you politicians will tell us it's about forecasting. You must be able to read the room and before maybe people take one step, you will already take two. That's one. And number two, now that he will appear like your camp, he himself has been sidelined. What's next for him?

[00:27:35]>> What's next for Senator Yo Mish? Senator Yo Mishi is grounded politically.

[00:27:41]Senator Yolomish is respected everywhere.

[00:27:45]Senator Yolomish is not an individual that you be asking such a question about what is next for one. He's not a desperate politician.

[00:27:53]>> He doesn't have to run for an election before he becomes relevant. He has paid his price. He's um grounded. He's needed everywhere. They consult him for issues.

[00:28:03]So it is not about what is next for him.

[00:28:06]>> It is about what is next for our people.

[00:28:09]>> Which people are you talking about?

[00:28:10]Sorry. which people >> it is about what is next for the people of the state. It is about ensuring that we get the right government in in place that would ensure that the dividends of democracy gets to the people that man >> it's amber that man it is left for the people of the state to judge.

[00:28:26]>> You don't think you don't seem optimistic about Amber and APC's push to you know give governor dele run for his money. Why?

[00:28:36]>> How do you mean I'm not optimistic?

[00:28:38]>> Are you? How do you mean I'm not optimistic? Let me ask you this.

[00:28:42]>> I'm optimistic about um ensuring that we install good government >> through Ambo >> through whoever the people choose >> whoever. Interesting.

[00:28:51]>> As senator Yolan Mishi talks with some other opposition parties like say the party for example.

[00:28:58]>> Is Senator Mishi talking to a party?

[00:29:00]>> Talks. Yes.

[00:29:01]>> Senator Mishi is not in talks with a party.

[00:29:04]>> Are they in talks with him? They are not in talks with um Senator Omishi to the best of my knowledian parties in the state.

[00:29:10]>> Nobody's senator Mishi is not entertaining anything from anybody.

[00:29:13]>> Next move tell us >> what is what >> his next move?

[00:29:16]>> What is next move? His next move is to watch things from the sidelines to ensure that good government is installed >> from the sidelines. Not going to be participating actively in supporting this.

[00:29:29]>> He has been disqualified as the governorship candidate of the party. So >> party candidate. He's not a candidate of the party.

[00:29:36]>> The party has a candidate.

[00:29:37]>> The party has a candidate. Yes.

[00:29:39]>> Is he going to do his bit as a chieftain in that party?

[00:29:42]>> That is exactly what he's doing now.

[00:29:43]>> He said he's going to be on the sidelines watching.

[00:29:46]>> If you're not the candidate, you're going to be on the sidelines as we are now. We are here talking.

[00:29:50]>> They're not on the sidelines. They're working actively. They >> working actively from the sidelines. You cannot be at the forefront. We have a candidate who is going to be talking to the people. He has his manifesto and the party's manifesto. So what is he to do now? I mean it ass seemed that none of his people are on the ballot for anything. I mean none of his people got anything.

[00:30:14]>> But so what is happening in the can?

[00:30:17]>> How do you mean none of his people?

[00:30:18]Everybody within the party is his people. So as long as the party has candidates >> are probating at the same time. I mean you've said it severally. is on the sidelines and now you're saying >> are you talking about as an individual or you're talking about a particular camp >> as an individual is an elder statement >> he's a member of the APC he has been disqualified from contesting >> working for the emergence of his party's candidates the >> I said he is doing his beats >> on the sidelines >> oh yes all right let me talk about a particular event that was held a a family event. He had a um wedding for one of his children as a yellow missionary and many of the ocean APC bigwigs were not there. And um we spoke to someone on this program. He said if they were not invited, how would they come? And one will wonder why will automish not invite his own boys to um a wedding of his own child. Really it is is the bitterness that deep.

[00:31:32]>> So um you see you invited um honorable Sunday aker here >> who said they were not invited for me senator honorable Sunday aer is a respected um political ally. That is his opinion. If he says that Senator Mish did not invite him, let him go ahead and continue.

[00:31:54]>> Oh, definitely. If somebody is having a function, you invite every friend of yours. And without inviting people, when you are having a wedding, it is it is it is your responsibility to celebrate such a family. You don't just wait until you are invited maybe through jingles on radio, television.

If you want to invite people not just about invitation people even take clothes memoria whatever to them to say I'm celebrating guys come in and the only person maybe of high note was a labashi who will then represented the president and maybe someone from this end who represent represented babi and that was all >> no that would not be correct senator was there >> okay >> honorable juror was there >> honorable was there Salam was there.

[00:32:46]>> Senator Yumi was there. The current chief of staff to the governor was there. So whoever didn't you just mentioned caucus at the national assembly and the court guys APC folks party chieftainings guys >> I was there.

[00:33:08]>> Mhm. Abdullah was there and not there's the one that answer question.

[00:33:26]>> He was invited. Yes. You see as a politician we have different groups. We have different forums where we interact and I'm sure the invitation was forwarded to every member of the forum.

[00:33:36]M >> so everybody was invited. It now behaves on you whether you want to attend or not. But that is actually not an issue.

[00:33:43]>> Did your principal care if they came or they didn't come?

[00:33:46]>> The the event was too was too nice was too beautiful for anyone to notice >> anyone even an a former governor it or not. Really >> there were so many other former governors there.

[00:33:57]>> Interesting. Let me let me ask you this quickly before comes in. What do you think about the states of this state, your state in which you have served before? Governor Deil is in charge. How would you rate his performance?

[00:34:13]>> In all honesty, let me >> hold on as firstly an aun person. You're first an indigen. Number two, you have been in government before.

They going to look at what they are doing currently and they're going to use that to judge whether they will be able to set them the way they want them to set them >> currently. Yeah. After being seen as a loyal omissionary ally over the years currently where do you stand within the equation in the party?
