Hello, I'm John McNamara, IBM Master Inventor from the IBM Hursley Laboratories, and I've been involved in the University of Sheffield's computer science school for a number of years.

A lot of that is based around learning how to learn, solving problems, and using innovative methods. I think that's critical. And also as well, students get access to industry mentors.

[00:00:49]For me, GenAI is all about amplifying and scaling the quality and ability of the practitioner. And if you don't have that good foundational computer science knowledge and experience, what you're going to be scaling is probably going to be substandard.
