Urine Is a Solution For the Coming Food Crisis

[00:00:00]After we have the war in Middle East, most of farmers start to suffer a lot because farmer need to rely on chemical fertilizer.

[00:00:13]The main ingredient of chemical fertilizer is the byproduct from ptorium process.

[00:00:22]When we cannot have ptorium, when the war in Middle East started, we cannot get the ingredient the main ingredient to make fertilizer.

[00:00:35]That will cause a lot of problem in our food production system in the world from now on. And many country worry about that. How can we find the ingredient to make our fertilizer?

[00:00:55]This is a big problem especially in Thailand. Now people worry a lot and many farmers in Thailand they stop do farming. Some area they stop do farming completely because they cannot afford the expense for farming.

[00:01:16]They cannot afford for the fertilizer, the field for the machine, everything the price going up fast.

[00:01:26]Most of farmer cannot afford it now.

[00:01:29]So what is the solution?

[00:01:32]I think we still have many solution but the problem is the way we think.

[00:01:38]We were trained to think that if we don't have money we cannot do farming.

[00:01:44]If we don't have fertilizer, we cannot do farming. If we don't have diesel, we cannot do farming. When we were trained to think like this, when we have problem with the ptorium, we stuck.

[00:02:02]But if we look back in the past, we used to do farming without this thing completely. We never use fertilizer, chemical fertilizer. We never use diesel oil. We never have machine. But we can grow a lot of food to feed people until now. So I think it's important to change the way of thinking to invent new way of farming. How can we make farming become independent? We can do farming by ourself. Even we have no money. We have to be able to grow. I have a lot of experience to grow with no money.

[00:02:48]The experience that I want to share is we did a lot of experiment about green manure. Behind me I saw uh beans and rice together.

[00:03:02]And then after that when beans and rice grow together, the bean always grow faster than rice.

[00:03:10]But not really long when the rain come a lot. The beans very beautiful, very growing very well. The rice cannot fight for the sunlight with beans. They still alive but not die but not grow well under the beans. But when the rain come more and more and then start to have puddle in the rice field, the beans start to turn yellow and die.

[00:03:38]And then the water turn brown color after that. It will turn to compost for the rice. And after the rice just jump up fast, they grow fast after that. This technique works so well so far. We used this technique many years in the past.

[00:03:56]And then if we think about compost if each family separate garbage from the house from each people's house and make compost every day after 3 months we start to have more and more compost every month. If we develop our way of life like this, we will everybody every house will develop compost and then we'll have more compost than we need to grow food for us.

[00:04:32]And the most important experience in my life is use urine.

[00:04:39]Urine is the most impressive technique of farming for me. Many years ago when I live in the city, I rent a plot of far of garden small plot in the city in the park in the city.

[00:04:56]And then it's not very big. I make a small bed, eight beds. Every day I collecting my I collect my pee. I pee in the container. Two people, we got five liters per days every day. And every day I just use pee or urine to water the first bed. The second day, the second bed until 8 days and I come back to the first bed again. I rotate it like this all the time.

[00:05:30]After I water with pee, 100% pee on the bed, I will water the water after that. That help to stop smell.

[00:05:40]There's no smell. You know, we use pee.

[00:05:43]But when we put pee in the bed, we don't put in the leaves. We put on the on the ground, not on the leaves, on the soil, and then water over it. This technique, there's no smell at all.

[00:05:59]And then only two months, everything growing well. 3 months later, my garden plot is very beautiful.

[00:06:10]Compared to neighbors plot, they use a lot of fertilizer. They use a lot of hormone. The cost of their vegetable more than the cost of vegetable in the market.

[00:06:23]But my vegetable zero cost. My tomatoes 1 kilograms. I gave this tomato to my friend. He said, "I never eat tomato this good in my life. It tastes so good." But I did not tell him what did I use in my garden because people always have negative feeling about pee. They think pee is dirty. It's so sad that people don't have bad feeling with animals poop animal pee like a chicken dung, cow dung, horse dung. We used all it but our pee no we cannot accept that.

[00:07:05]We think it's dirty. Actually, pee is not that dirty. Pee, if your body is healthy, people use pee for for healing a lot in the past in the history. And pee has so much nutrition in our pea.

[00:07:22]Pee and poop is different.

[00:07:25]Poop are more germ, more parasite, more bad thing. But P mostly is the mineral vitamin that the body cannot use all of it. So it's excessive mineral from the body. It come out with pee. That's why pee is so powerful. When you put pea water pee on the sad vegetable, they just happy immediately in one day. They wake up fast. So P is very interesting because I met one doctor in Majo University in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

[00:08:08]His name is Dr. Anato.

[00:08:11]He's did a big research on P. He experiment to use P. He told me that the best is just P. One part of P, two part of water mixed together and water on the vegetable. He experiment with corn, with kale, with many things and it works so well. He said that if Thailand can save PE from every gas station, he we will save a lot of money per year from buying ura or nitrogen fertilizer from another country. So he did a lot of study about that. I think people just have very bad negative feeling about pee. But actually if we come back to study it again, I think pee will be solution for us now because we pee every day and then pee turn to the biggest problem in our life to get rid of it because we think it's bad. So if we change our thinking we will solve a lot of problem in our life. At least we will have less garbage less problem that we need to get rid of it. And then in the same time we can use it to produce food for us. From my experience that I did the garden at that time I realized that wow life is so easy. Only pee can feed us. Pee of two people can produce enough vegetable for four people.

[00:09:59]That's my experience.

[00:10:02]So I think it's nothing bad to go back to develop this thing again in the crisis time like now when we have no chemical fertilizer. We know that chemical fertilizer come from ptorium and we know that ptorium almost finished.

[00:10:26]We almost run out of ptorium in the world soon. Why we still keep doing it?

[00:10:33]Why don't we think about how can we find another way, another solution that we depend on ourself more? We don't need to depend on something outside so much especially food.

[00:10:46]Food we need to think about depending ourself as much as we can.

[00:10:54]We should not depend on ingredient from outside to produce our food. That is security.

[00:11:03]From now on we will face a lot of problem political problem economics problem. So many problem every problem really led to our food crisis. That's why we need to think about how can we have our own food in our hand. The whole process of making food have to be in our hand. This is the solution.

[00:11:27]Urine is the answer the easiest answer.

[00:11:32]But we can think about another way too.

[00:11:35]It's not only one solution. There are so many solution. But for me, I feel like urine is very interesting.
