Politicians may publicly express support for religious values while simultaneously implementing policies that contradict those values, as demonstrated by Chris Minns who publicly celebrated Christianity in the Catholic Weekly while simultaneously rushing through radical abortion legislation and banning prayer in New South Wales.

Chris Minns The Politician Who BANNED Prayer? | Dr Jo Show Clips本站添加:
This is getting really old. We are so sick of politicians cynically playing the Christian card just to win votes. We saw it in the election with Anthony Albanese turning up to church not once but three times during the federal election campaign and crying over the death of Pope Francis. Now we see a headline in the Catholic Weekly in New South Wales screaming Chris Minns celebrates Christianity. Well, this is the same Chris Minns that rushed through a radical Greens abortion bill this year, banned prayer in New South Wales and has actually allowed men to change their birth certificates because they identify as women. So, does Chris Minns really celebrate Christianity? You'll find out. That's today on the Dr. Joe Show.
We're getting lots of messages from you guys that YouTube has flagged my channel as a dangerous channel. So, if you are new here or if you're a returning viewer but haven't subscribed, could I please ask that you do subscribe to the channel. We want to reach many more people than we currently do with these videos and so I really need your help to do that. Um now, when I was in New South Wales just a few weeks ago for the speaking tour for the Save Our Girls Bill, a man came up to me and he thrust me some paperwork. Now, um he said you need to read this. Uh this is just something appalling that I saw in the Catholic Weekly. I wrote a letter. They published my letter. And he So, he handed me this wad of papers which at the time I didn't get to have a look at, but that evening I was absolutely gobsmacked to see that the Catholic Weekly had a huge heading that said Chris Minns celebrates Christianity. It says, "Addressing the launch of the Christian Alliance Council of New South Wales at Parliament House last week, Minns reflected on the contribution of Christianity to public life in New South Wales." Now, the Christian Alliance Council is something that Paul Secord and others have put together. I think I think it's a great idea. I think the Christians need to be far more involved in the in politics than they are. Too many Christians um and too many church leaders say, "Oh, that's that's politics. We can't get involved." But I think what we're really seeing is that if Christians step out of this space as they have done um now for too long, what we see is that the radical left's religion, it's not like there's a vacuum that nothing fills.
It's a vacuum that something else fills.
And the radical left have been pushing their ideology on us um for quite some time now, for decades. And the result is is where we are today. So, I actually think this is a great initiative from Paul Secord and others. From his own quotes, um we can see that uh what Minns is doing is cynically um parading his Christianity for an audience in the hope that it will get him votes. So, what he says is, "It's an important thing to celebrate and as a missionary faith, and I include myself as a member of this missionary faith, it's our duty in many respects to stand up and celebrate Christianity, its importance to Australian life, the fact that so many people that serve in this parliament got their drive and their determination and their bearing and their forebearance from their faith, from their Christian faith." So, on the one hand, when you read something like this, it can feel pretty heartwarming. Here's Chris Minns talking about the importance of Christianity to Australia and to him and his family and his personal faith. Uh but, what you have to remember when you read this is Minns knows who his audience is. He's He knows that these quotes and this article is going to a select audience. It's actually quite a small audience, exclusively made up of Catholics. I mean, nobody other than Catholics read the Catholic Weekly. This is a paper specifically targeted at Catholics, produced by the church for Catholics. And, you know, he knows that when he says this, he's reaching a Catholic audience who he hopes will believe that he means what he says and that he's just one of them. It's a little bit like during the Greens' abortion bill debate, when Chris Minns secretly went to the Maronite community to their dinner, and he told them that he would not be voting for the Greens' abortion bill, that he wouldn't be giving it government time. He assured them in that room. He said, "I know a lot of you are worried about um this bill. I want to assure you it's not a priority for our government. I won't be voting for it. Um we won't be giving it government time." Now, that's what he said before the federal election, but once Albo romped in and he won those faith-based voters who believed him, Minns gave it government time and rushed it through the parliament. I love that the guy that handed me this water paper, um, Gregory Enright, he actually wrote to the Catholic Weekly and he made this point. He said, "Mins celebrates, in inverted commas, Christianity?" Question mark. He said, "I refer to the Catholic Weekly article on the 17th of August, Mins celebrates Christianity. It was interesting to see Premier Mins celebrate his Christianity earlier this year with his New South Wales Labor Party giving so much support to a private members abortion amendment bill despite saying in the federal election campaign it would not be given government time in the New South Wales debate. Labor collaborated with and prioritized the Greens private members abortion bill and gave the Liberals no notice of it trying to rush the bill through in New South Wales parliament.
This is just another example of politicians cynically waving the Christian flag yet passing laws that are morally wrong and hostile to Christian values confident they can deceive the faithful. The Hills Shire Council can find you $1.1 million for cutting down a tree without permission. Sharks, crocodiles, and even been chickens are protected by law yet the unborn child in Australia can be aborted right up to the day of birth and without value and protection. Mr. Albanese touts his Catholic background meeting the Pope and taking photo opportunities in churches yet his government gives a $4,200 payment for late-term abortions and entitlements to pay parental leave of $22,700.
This comes at a time when Australia's birth rate is at net zero percent.
Gregory Enright, Baulkham Hills. This is a great letter because it exposes the fact that Mins doesn't celebrate Christianity. He actually trashes Christianity at every possible opportunity. He presides over a radically left government that has done radically left anti-Christian things in New South Wales. And when I say radically left, what I mean, as you guys know, is radically anti-Christian. Let's go through it. Four examples. The first one you guys know, abortion. This was a bill that, um, would have forced Catholic hospitals to perform abortions.
Um, it would have overridden conscientious objection for doctors, Christian, atheist, anyone who didn't want to do an abortion. It would have said they had to be involved. It removed all data keeping requirements. It allowed nurses and midwives to now prescribe abortions, making it much more accessible, more babies killed. Now, because of our hard work, we managed to gut three out of four aspects of this bill, but Chris Minns and Labor they they were so dodgy that during the election campaign, as Gregory points out, they were adamant they weren't going to pass this bill, it was going to be a conscience vote, it was not going to get up. Minns said he wasn't voting for it.
And yet, when this bill hit the floor of the lower house, albeit in amended form, Chris Minns voted for the bill. Now, he didn't speak to it cuz he's a coward and he didn't want to have that footage.
Mark Speakman wasn't that wasn't so smart. He stupidly made the dumbest speech of all time, leader of the Liberals. And you know, we've we've done video after video caning him for it.
Minns is smarter than Speakman. He knows that that footage would play very badly in those faith-based seats in Western Sydney. So, he deliberately didn't speak. But, cowardly, he voted for that bill, resulting in more babies being killed in New South Wales.
But yet, Minns apparently celebrates his Christianity. Now, that's not all that he's done. Minns has also banned prayer in New South Wales. Yeah, that's right.
You heard that he's banned Christians from praying with people who are distressed about their sexuality, who are unsure about their sexual identity, who who ask for prayer. Like, this could literally be a mother and a son.
It could be a young woman and and a pastor. It it it it is any kind of prayer around the issue of sexual identity or sexuality. Chris Minns government has banned it. And not only that, that that's that would be bad enough, but they're now producing, you know, George Orwellian 1984 propaganda videos to try and make sure that everybody knows that the Christian position on sexuality is wrong. Let's take a look.
>> There are those who believe that being LGBTQA [music] is an illness, a choice, a disorder, or a disease.
They believe it can be [music] changed or hidden.
They believe that things can be done to stop a person being OGB TQA or to fix them.
These actions might look like counseling, never-ending referrals, prayer, or pastoral conversation that is intended to change or suppress someone's gender or sexuality.
Some people who believe these things also believe that a person who has a different sexual orientation or gender identity can't also be a person of faith.
>> [music] >> But we know these so-called conversion practices are deeply harmful. They don't work, and they are damaging to the whole community. [music] Faith and identity are not mutually exclusive, and numerous faith communities actively support LGBTQIA people.
The laws in New South Wales protect people's rights to have religious beliefs, and people also have the right to be safe [music] and free from harm.
New South Wales now has the law against conversion practices. These practices, whether done by family members, health professionals, or health care providers, disability support providers, teachers, or faith leaders, among others, are now unlawful because they are based on ideas that we now know are untrue and harmful. [music] The law says a practice is illegal if it's directed [music] at an individual because of their sexual orientation or gender identity to try to make them change or suppress [music] their sexual orientation or gender identity.
>> So, you might be wondering what does this video have to do with Chris Minns?
Well, Chris Minns is the Premier of New South Wales that rushed through this ban on praying with people who are struggling with their sexuality or their sexual identity.
