The MK Party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela argues that President Cyril Ramaphosa must be held accountable for the Phala Phala farm matter, criticizing the DA for previously supporting impeachment but then protecting the president through cabinet positions, and calling for a motion of no confidence as an alternative to the lengthy impeachment process which requires a 2/3 majority, while a motion of no confidence only needs 50+1 votes.

MK Party declares war over Phala Phala falloutAdded:
reaction from political parties with regards to the president's address earlier on. For now, we are joined by Ntlantla Londlela from the MK party's the spokesperson. Ntlantla, a very good evening to you. Let's try this once again. Thank you so much for your time and your patience this evening. So, the president having dismissed calls as he said some had mentioned that he should resign and others calling for him not to resign. How do you evaluate this stance against the backdrop of the MK party's stance on accountability?
Well, the the Let's just start with um the disingenuous comments by the spokesperson of the DA, which I was listening to earlier.
The the fact of the matter is in the sixth administration, the DA was central to driving the issue of impeachment.
But, they bartered with the electoral vote to put themselves in cabinet in order to protect Ramaphosa. So, they cannot now all of a sudden divorce themselves from the reality that they have caused and the fact that, you know, what has now happened in base based on what the Constitutional Court has said of a 669 report being swept under the carpet by way of a vote in Parliament. That they're not party to that. They they they are governing with a criminal.
They're governing with a president based on their so-called high standards of morality, which they clearly have now all of a sudden forgotten. W- you know, continue to feel that it's it's comfortable and it's fine for them to do so. And it's only for that because of the fact that they want to govern and have uh access to power.
So, they're not uh they're a political party to be trusted. They're not people that you can actually take seriously in light of the fact of governance and transparency. They were part of that. Inkatha Freedom Party, by the way, has reduced ANC when it comes to the majority vote.
Off the back of the 2024 elections, we reduced them to a 38.9% where they had a majority just to do whatever they want to do. It's not the DA, not any other political parties, in contrawise issue. And we're going to hold all parliamentarians and government accountable. In actual fact, where we are standing, South Africans deserve better. South Africans, in actual fact, I'm sure if we, based on what we're going to be doing, which is to call on criminal uh investigations and a case to be opened on all members of parliament that participated in allowing this vote to take place. Mhm. And for this Section 89 report to be swept under. They are all complicit.
They're all complicit and they deserve to also be questioned. Not only the president, including in this case, from what we've now seen, the public protector. The public protector ought to be impeached. The public protector must also be called out for what, uh you know, based on her so-called findings, which were only meant to be presidential protection as opposed to public protection.
So, we as the contrawise issue are going to be holding We're going to be holding everybody accountable. And there are those that are saying that, well, the president was not transacting. Well, it was his manager.
Let me tell you, we are aware and we fully are um you know, very well versed with the fact that the Phala Phala farm under the trust formed by Mr. Ramaphosa, called Ntaba Nyoni, everybody in this country must go and look into Ntaba Nyoni. Ntaba Nyoni that owns that farm.
There's a lot of transactions that will tell you and that are very telling. And we're also going to expose that. So, President Ramaphosa must now understand that it's best for him to just resign, save South Africans from the trauma that he has caused us, and let us just, you know, move on and form a new government. Because as it is, him and the DA are complicit. The DA has said that the only reason they are obviously shelved their own morality was on the basis of satisfying business because they formed the back of this this genius formed the back of business and influence from white monopoly capital.
Yeah.
I mean the president says that he stole nothing. He didn't commit any crime. He didn't violate any oath of office. He spoke about the importance of constitutional processes. Do you believe this approach is sufficient to addressing the issues raised against him?
Well, it's more than sufficient. Um we we have always said that the evidence that's there is glaring.
I mean if you and I were to be found with cash in our couch, in our homes, you'd be arrested immediately. If you are driving over the speed limit of 120 in 100 of 180 in a 120 zone, there's no questions asked. You're arrested. Why is it that the president when he's found with cash in his couch, which is not a lot of legal tender, when he says he's transacting, and he confirms that indeed yes, it's my money from a transaction, and it's coming to my Ndaweni asset being Phala Phala farm for a transaction of a cow or whatever the case may be, and he's not arrested. And then the in terms of the Section 89 report, it says that he was concealing evidence. It says that. The president is concealing evidence. The presidency ought to be beyond reproach. We have a president here who's incriminated. We have a president here who is part of a criminal uh in in transaction.
That's what we having.
And how how do we now continue to allow this person to continue to loiter in the Union Buildings?
We we cannot as a country. This man is not beyond reproach. This man must be held accountable. And the fact of the matter is the following.
The president has got to be accountable.
We are calling on a motion motion of no confidence. We know that the impeachment process is going to take a whole lot longer. Well, that process must also continue. It was going to happen. And you need a 2/3 majority for that. But a motion of no confidence, we don't need a 2/3 majority. We need a 50 plus one to remove this man and also still hold him accountable. It's not that when he's now removed off the back of a motion of confidence that he's not going to be held accountable when it comes to a you know, the the integrity the the impeachment committee. And you're confident and you're confident that that motion of no confidence if held with a secret ballot will give you that 50 plus one majority.
Secret ballot or not, the engagement that we are having with the political parties, the South Africans are tired. And by the way, South Africans must be very well aware.
And they must be looking out to the following. Any political party that votes for criminality, that votes for Phala Phala to continue and to permeate throughout our society, throughout our cabinet, let me tell you, South Africans are going to respond to any political party in the local government elections accordingly. And we're going to punish them. Because Contious Seizure was only political party, let's face it, when it came to the ad hoc committee that was able to ask questions that no one else could answer. There were political parties that were trying to lobby us not to engage and even speak to Khadija, not to call for this other individual that was also arrested today.
We are the only political party. We're not complicit. We're not party to all these shenanigans. We are the one party that's going to hold everybody accountable. All right. And so therefore, South Africans must remember, if no one votes for Cyril Ramaphosa to be removed as a president, I can tell you now, 2026, as we already know, and even 2029, MK will be the ones to take power. We're going to control this country. We're going to govern this country as we should be, because we are all sick and tired of political theatrics.
>> All right. Nthlamulo Ntlhela of the MK party, thank you so much for giving us your reaction this evening, saying whether or not this impeachment process takes a while, they will continue with that motion of no confidence.
