You're Just A " Measuring Stick " For Them

[00:00:02]So, a few weeks ago I heard this woman and she used the term measuring stick. I believe that's what she said.

[00:00:11]And it got me thinking like, yeah, that's exactly how some people view you.

[00:00:17]You ever had like a friend or family member, a lover where you find out later on that they don't even like you.

[00:00:24]They never liked you or through some time they begin to dislike you, they hate you. But they didn't cut you off.

[00:00:32]And the reason why they didn't cut you off is because they would been using you as a measuring stick the entire time.

[00:00:39]They genuinely don't see you as a friend, they genuinely don't see you as a lover, they genuinely don't see you as a family member. They're only using you as a measuring stick, somebody who they can compare themselves to, take notes from, take wisdom from, and to kind of say, hey, am I doing well?

[00:00:58]Or who I should be.

[00:01:01]And this happens to a lot of chosen ones, this happens to a lot of people who are anointed, who are enlightened.

[00:01:08]And because you went into the friendship genuinely, because you were dating that person, loving that person genuinely, that family member genuinely, you were trying to develop a true friendship or relationship, you really didn't see it. You didn't see the fakeness behind these individuals because these people have to create a character in order to get close to you.

[00:01:37]When from day one, when they made this attachment with you was really just to compare themselves to you.

[00:01:45]And to get that validation from you. And what is the fastest way that people can get information from you, right? To befriend you. You know, I even had a of mutuals do this, like befriend me through TikTok, and then once we started to get to know each other, I realized this is not a genuine friendship. This person just always wants to pick my brain. This person's always comparing themselves, and what happens through time, in order to to not feel that guilt, that shame, and to not feel inferior in your energy, they start to try to humble you. They start sneak-dissing you, saying little ish, trying to make it seem like you're their fan, that you're sweating them, that you really truly admire them. And it's so odd because randomly they'll start saying things and doing things, you know.

[00:02:40]I had this one friend just out of nowhere just start sending me like job references, and I'm like, I have a job. I'm never complaining about my job. I actually like my job, which is very rare.

[00:02:52]And they started just sending me just random like job references, like the job that they do. And I was like, why is she sending me her job information? This is strange. I look I look at the salary, and I was just like, I make more than that. Like, why is this person sending me this information?

[00:03:09]Or like just randomly sending me information about content creation. This is like, you don't even do content creation, so how would you know information on content creation? You know, but that is just to humble you.

[00:03:22]They let They People will tell you exactly what they um secretly wish that they can do, that they see you're doing, you know, or they want to feel that they are on your level. You know, I um years ago I had came into an inheritance, you know, like land and stuff like that.

[00:03:45]And I even had a ex-friend lie and say that they came into an inheritance. They didn't. You know, so this is like the type of things that individuals would do. They're going to lie and say, you know, see I have this you have this and I have this. You know, you did this and I did this. Yeah, I've been there. I've been there, too, and I know that you've been there. And you hear a lot of yeah, me too, me too, yeah, me too, me too. And you're like, really? I never even knew you did that or I never even heard you even talk about these things. They're lying.

[00:04:18]They make up these whole fantasy worlds, these whole characters, just so that they can feel as if they're on your level. Whole time they're using you as a measuring as a measuring stick.

[00:04:32]And through time they begin to even talk poorly about you to their friends, to their family, to their lovers.

[00:04:39]And they have to create a whole new character. They have to make you out to be something that you're not because the secret is they're jealous, they're envious. They're using you as a measuring stick. They can't let their friends and family know that. So, they have to make you out to be this bad guy or this bad girl.

[00:04:59]Um but low-key sometimes their friends and family see through it because they're obsessive. These type of people who see you as a measuring stick, they're obsessed with you. They talk about you a lot. And a lot of time their friends and family are like, who is this person they're always talking about? Why are they always sweating this person?

[00:05:15]Who is this person?

[00:05:17]You know, so a lot of times when even when they meet you, they're looking at they're looking at you like, this isn't the person that we thought you were.

[00:05:26]You know, some people are able to see through the facade of what your you know, connection has been saying about you, which is false.

[00:05:37]So, that's why they don't cut you off because they don't have a need to cut you off. Enemies want to stay far away from you.

[00:05:44]And they'll catch you on a fade if they need to.

[00:05:47]But, these individuals who only view you as a measuring tool, a measuring stick, they have to befriend you. They have to stay in the friendship to get information from you. That's the fastest way to get information about your life to be able to compare their life to you to you, to be able to take your information and get the information and wisdom for free.

[00:06:09]It's to be friends with you.

[00:06:11]And if they got to pretend to be excited when you tell them you're accomplishing something or something great is going on in in your life, they're going to pretend to be happy for you. They are going to pretend they're happy about that relationship that you're in, healthy or not. You know, they're going to fake it. They have to fake it till they make it. But, through time, the envy, the jealousy, the animosity, the shame and the guilt, it will rise to the surface.

[00:06:39]And that's when you're going to notice it when it's too late because you actually went into the connection in a genuine manner. But, be careful. Some people only see you as a measuring stick. That is it. You're It's not a real relationship. It's not a real friendship. It's just so they can compare their life to you. When you're doing bad, that means that they're doing good. When you're doing good, that means that they're doing bad.
