So, there are basically two template switching events that occurs during the reverse transcription and in case of this whole reverse transcription process, reverse transcriptase enzyme is the main player or the key player, but that reverse transcriptase enzyme is basically error-prone in nature. It doesn't have any kind of a nucleus activity or proofreading activity like DNA polymerase of eukaryotes.
