Liberal Minister Dodges Committee? Again??

[00:00:00]You know, when we decided to to undertake this study, it was unanimously supported by all members. Obviously, that's what unanimously support means, but there was there was no hesitation when the plan included to bring the minister at the end of the study so that we would have an opportunity to ask him some questions about this policy. And so I guess I'm I'm again very disappointed and concerned that we have Minister Lightbound once again refusing to appear before a committee on something that clearly falls within his portfolio.

[00:00:46]As you noted, it's becoming a habit when he decides he's not going to come, he doesn't have to.

[00:00:52]And I I think it I think it's incumbent on ministers to come and defend their budgets, their policies. This is a huge one, and I think it's extremely important. I've been hearing from stakeholders and folks in industry who say it's not as cut and dry as it first appears.

[00:01:11]That there are issues with procuring with the government under this policy or even understanding it.

[00:01:18]So it would be good for the minister to come, and I guess I would appeal to my colleagues across the way to have another conversation with the minister to see if they couldn't change his mind.
