Legislative bodies can impose disciplinary measures on members who disrupt proceedings, such as removing them from committee assignments, as demonstrated when Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton stripped Democratic lawmakers from committee assignments following disruptions during a special session on congressional redistricting.

🚨"The BACKFIRED Badly" - Tenn. House Leader PUNISHES Democrats, REMOVES Them from ALL AssignmentsAdded:
And we're back. And we're back, y'all.
Thank you for watching today. Go ahead and hit that like button, my peep. You know that it helps us out a ton. And of course, it helps you because it helps us keep bringing you these stories every day. Now y'all, by now if you have been watching our channel or any of the news over the past several days, you have probably heard about the vote that went down in Tennessee to redistrict the state's congressional districts and the absolute pandemonium and bedum that followed. You can see on your screen, the Democrats called it the new Jim Crow. They used bullhorns. They chanted, they sang, they got in police officers faces, y'all. They burned Confederate flags. Basically just went all out, went crazy, y'all. And now, now the chickens are coming home to roost, y'all, because apparently news reports are indicating that all of them or many of them, we're going to find out how many of them. A bunch of them were removed from their committee assignments in the state of Tennessee. Y'all, punishment is coming for their reaction to the vote.
Punishment is coming for how they reacted. Now, I want to remind y'all that two of them have already been removed from the the Tennessee legislature and they were voted back in and a third one was also in the dock at that time, but she escaped being expelled. So, you have to wonder if these three may face additional penalties, y'all. So today we're going to take a look at how the Tennessee Democrats are being removed from their committee assignments, y'all, as punishment and a couple of other things that are related to this whole saga, including your girl AOC speaking without knowing what she's talking about. We're talking about the Tennessee situation.
I'll show you what you I'll show you what she said and how she's dead wrong.
And uh all of this is quite disturbing, y'all. I will admit this is quite disturbing. But without further ado, y'all, let's go ahead and get into them.
Let's go ahead and get into these Democrats being removed from their committee assignments. Here, Fox 17 Nashville says Tennessee Democrats removed from House committees following special session disruptions.
Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Ston removed Democratic lawmakers from House standing committees and subcommittees on Tuesday following disruptions during the recent special session on congressional redistricting. In a letter addressed to House Democratic Leader Karen Camper dated May 12th, that's today. Ston accused members of the Democratic Caucus of actions aimed at disrupting the Democratic and legislative processes and creating disorder on the House floor.
Now, he wrote a letter, y'all. We will be reading some of that letter here. Sex Ston also alleged members distributed earplugs to another Democratic lawmaker during the demonstrations. Quote, individual letter sent out to lawmakers informed them that they had been removed from committee assignments. One letter sent to Democratic leader Karen Camper stated she would only remain on the government operations committee as required under House rules. So, it looks like she got stripped as well. Another letter addressed to Representative Jason Powell informed him that he had been removed from all house standing committees and subcommittees and directed questions to Camper. The move follows a contentious special session at the capital where lawmakers debated and ultimately approved new congressional district maps. Demonstrations inside and outside committee rooms led to repeated disruptions throughout the week. So, let's take a look at this letter and see exactly what it says, shall we? Here it says, "Dear Leader Camper, due to actions taken by members of the Democratic caucus during the second extraordinary session of the 114th General Assembly aimed at disrupting the Democratic and Legislative processes and creating disorder on the House floor, including but not limited to interlocking arms in the well of the House, blocking aisles on the House floor, instigating and encouraging disruptions of the legislative process in coordination with paid protesters and attendees in the gallery, the use of prohibited props and noise makers on the House floor, demonstrating a lack of respect toward fellow members, seeking recognition to speak on legislation, and flagrant disregard for the permanent rules of order of the House. Members of the Democratic caucus will receive individual letters removing them from all standing committees and subcommittees of the House except where membership is required pursuant to rule 65 of the House rules, y'all. So, they're all being stripped it looks like. Oh my gosh, y'all. Now, are you concerned yet, people? Because this is quite concerning. Now, you might say, "Well, they deserve it.
Yeah, but Yeah, y'all. But we have to all get along, y'all. We have to all get along. This seems like a time where people need to sit down and talk, y'all.
This time, To me, this see this this seems like a time where people need to sit down, talk, and find a common way forward. Yes, the disruptions were disruptive by definition. Yes, they were probably wrong. And maybe they deserve these and maybe they deserve these penalties. Maybe this is in concordance with the the set penalties for this sort of thing, y'all. But sometimes you just have to say, "Look, let's sit down and talk. Let's try to find out a way forward."
But it looks like uh they ain't talking over there in Tennessee, y'all. Now, I want to follow this up with a lot of misconception about actually what happened, y'all. And who better who better to be the poster child of misconception than your girl AOC?
Now, what a lot of people think is that this Tennessee redistrict drawing situation is eliminating a a a black a black member to the House of Representatives. But published reports say that the person who's losing his district is actually a white guy. Okay?
So, maybe AOC had got that all mixed up and confused. We are a 50/50 country and so we need to look at these redistricting fights less as Virginiaians, Texans, New Yorkers, and more as Americans.
And I, as well as many others, believe in nonpartisan gerrymandering. I don't think that that uh elected officials choosing their voters is healthy as opposed to voters choosing their elected officials. And that's what gerrymandering does in the present environment. However, when you are seeing states like Tennessee want to wipe out every black representative on the map in these states, we have an obligation as Americans to stand with black Americans and communities whose whose representation is being disenfranchised. Now y'all, in order for you to have a very concise and just wellspelled out totally above board of the way that many people are looking at this, I want you take I want you to take a look at this next piece by a state senator in the state of Florida, which is also redistricting. She just lays it out. She just puts it she just puts all her cards right on the table. You have to respect that. And I want y'all to make a comment down below. Do you agree with her? Or do you disagree?
>> Americans running in that seat, which means Wasserman Schultz will be counting on her opponents in the primary, splitting up the African-American vote and allowing her to become the nominee.
The Broward County Democratic Black Caucus has asked Wasserman Schultz not to run for that seat. And it is clear that if she did run, it would turn into an ugly and potentially racial affair.
>> I did talk to her. She explained to me how important seniority is in Congress and we want to keep her in Congress, but we're just asking her to consider running in the district that she was drawn into or even in the coastal district where Masawitz says he's going to run where it's predominantly Jew.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz, you know, Masawitz, it's like they're vying to protect their seats. And what we're saying is we've been an ally. We've been a supporter. You know, we want to have someone with our lived experience. Let our community kind of decide through the voting process who that person is going to be.
>> Well, let me let me let me >> So, yeah. Y'all y'all I I said in the last video, we've crossed the Rubicon.
Whatever's past the Rubicon, we done crossed that. We swam across the lake, across the river. We done we we we hopped on our elephants, went over the Alps. I I I don't know what's next, people. I don't know what's next. I do hope that cooler heads do prevail.
Again, I think each side wants to dunk on the other side. Each side each side wants to see the other side lose. But that's that's not good, y'all. That's not good for the country. So, as far as I'm concerned, I hope people can somehow sit down, work out some kind of workable solution, and uh and yeah, bring the temperature down. But let me know what y'all think about all this. All looks like all I mean the the the news report doesn't say how many, but it looks like all of the Democrats in Tennessee are being stripped of all committee and subcommittee memberships except for those that they can't be stripped of due to the rules. So, what do you think y'all? Is this the right move? Let me know y'all. Drop a comment down below.
