Political parties in Nigeria have been transformed from platforms of ideology into vehicles for personal vendettas and power struggles, where politicians prioritize settling scores over governance, creating a transactional political culture that undermines democratic processes and citizen participation.

Fubara breaks silence As Wike Backed Chinda Enters Guber Race Against Fubara追加:
Just look at what is happening in River State right now. It is a complete circus. Look at the news we are getting.
Kingsley Chinda, the minority leader of the House of Representative, a man who is supposed to be the leading voice of the PDP opposition in Abuja, has just been screened and cleared by the APC to run in the gubernatorial primary. And who is he battling for the APC ticket?
The sitting governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
Just let that sink in. A PDP stalwart and a governor who was elected under the PDP and now supposedly fighting for an APC ticket. Why? Because the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, is angry. This isn't about governance. This isn't about ideology. This is a pure, unadulterated political transaction. It shows you that these people, political parties, are just vehicles they hijack to execute their personal vendettas. They have turned the entire political landscape into a bazaar. This is the real tragedy of our situation. Politicians are playing a massive game of chess with our lives. Wike can stand on a podium and arrogantly vowed that a sitting governor must not be reelected, boasting that he will unveil his preferred candidate at the right time. He talks as if River State is his personal estate and the citizens are just tenants. They are so consumed by this pulling down syndrome that they are willing to prioritize a state governance just to prove who is the ultimate godfather. They do this because they rely on the hardship they have created. They know that when election time comes, they will throw millions of naira around. They expect people to be too hungry to resist selling their votes. They want you to believe the outcome is already decided in some backroom in Abuja, so you won't even bother to fight back. But we have to be smarter than this. If you take their money and sell your votes, you are validating the madness. You are telling them it is okay to treat your state like a playground for their egos. A 2027 dereg screening shouldn't be done by APC or PDP executive. Dereg screening must be done by the citizens at the polling unit. We must stand our ground. We must reject the godfatherism and insist that the will of the people is the only thing that matters. If we don't, they will just keep recycling the same absurdity while the country bleeds. Now, let's get into the real technical absurdity of the situation because it actually gets worse. The more you look at it, Kingsley Chinda is currently the minority leader in the House of Representative. That is a position he holds on the platform of the PDP. How do you remain the face of the opposition in Abuja while being screened and cleared to run for the governor under the ruling APC in your hometown? It tells you that the concept of a political party in Nigeria has officially died. It is no longer about a platform or a set of beliefs. It is about a shelter. They are treating these parties like lifeboats. Chinda is moving to the APC because he knows that is where the anointed of the FCT minister is currently being channeled. This isn't a democratic process. This is a hostile takeover of a state political structure.
And then you look at Governor Sim Fubara. If he is indeed battling for the same APC ticket as the report suggests, then we have reached a level of political comedy that is actually tragic. These are the same people just a few years ago were telling you that APC was the enemy of the state. Now, they are all scrambling into the same room, fighting over the same broom just to see who gets the blessing of the power that be in Abuja. Let's further check the motive here. Is this about who get the best plan for the security of River State? Is it about who will fix the broken education system? No, the news is very clear. We can vow that Fubara must not be reelected. The entire primary is being set up as a personal execution ground for a political career. They are using the machinery of the state and the ruling party to settle his score between a former boss and his godson. This is the danger of letting one man become the alpha and omega of a region. When the political class is this preoccupied with who is loyal to whom, the people are the ones who fall through the crack. They are so busy with unveiling and blessing candidate that they have completely forgotten that the job of a governor is to serve the citizen, not to protect the interest of a minister in Abuja. So, where does this leave us? It leaves us at a crossroad for 2027. If the APC primary on May 25th become nothing more than a coronation ceremony for a handpicked loyalist, it proves that the system is trying to insulate itself from the people's will. They want to present you with a choice that isn't really a choice, two or three side of the same coin all answering to the same master.
But here is the final word. Do not let that clearing and screening discourage you. They are terrified of a coordinated united citizens. That is why they are doing all this drama now to make it look like the fight is already over. It is not over. If they want to turn politics into a private business, we must turn our vote into a public audit in 2027.
Your vote shouldn't just be for a name.
It should be a total rejection of this transactional culture. If you are tired of being the one who pays the price for their egos, you have to be the one to end the circle. Stand your ground, watch the process, and let them know that River State belongs to the people, not to any godfather. That is it. What are your thoughts? Drop it in the comment section.
