House lawmaker threatens sit-in over gun violence prevention bill

[00:00:04]Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Republicans, we will caucus in our caucus room following adjournment.

[00:00:13]I recognize a member from Hennepin, Representative Pinto Murray.

[00:00:16]Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I rise today to make an announcement that Speaker Daudt has 24 hours to report the bill from the Senate, Senate file 4067, which is a comprehensive package on gun violence prevention.

[00:00:34]If Speaker Daudt does not report this bill by 5:00 p.m. tomorrow on Thursday, May 14th, I, along with other members of this body, will engage in an overnight sit-in here in the chamber.

[00:00:49]We will be doing this We will be doing this for the community of Annunciation, the parents and families of Harper Moyski and Phil Fletcher Merkle, and for everyone across Minnesota who has lost someone to gun violence.

[00:01:05]Again, I rise today to make the announcement that Speaker Daudt has 24 hours to let us do something about guns.

[00:01:15]If she does not, I will begin my sit-in, and I invite my colleagues on any side of the aisle, and on the right side of history, to join me.
