[00:00:02]In the capital DRC When you take what the citizens are supposed you will see him.

[00:00:11]He's the man who has crossed the path with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the few times he has been in office.

[00:00:17]And the collaborations and bilateral relationship between the two countries has enabled Uganda that this year has peace. And Congo is also is enjoying the peace, the sweat of Uganda. The operation Shujaa, if you can recall, is one of the key steps both countries have embarked on to ensure that there's total pacification of DRC. The country which we all know is very vast and of course controlling this also requires double effort. And among those steps to take it to was to reach out to excellencies like Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the region, excellencies like Samia Suluhu and the Nairobi government of His Excellency Dr. William Ruto to at least reach out to the government on how these nations can lend a hand in as far as pacifying DRC is concerned.

[00:01:13]For now, we cannot say it is entirely peaceful, but there is hope that one day DRC will enjoy peace in every corner of that country. The country which is rich in the continent and even here in the region. But of course without all those mines can mean nothing to the [music] citizens and to the neighbors.

[00:01:35]We have seen Uganda through the UPDF constructing roads, trying to link up Uganda to the wider market. And this is all under the harmony and the [music] package of East Africa integration or federation where these countries are trying to at least catch up with each other. Where need be, if you need security, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan Burundi and the rest can collaborate and ensure that there's peace where it is needed in terms of trade needs Uganda Kenya Rwanda Burundi Tanzania and the rest can also work together to ensure that there's peace and trade needs. And there comes the man himself in an edible blue counter suit.

[00:02:18]The Excellency Felix Tshisekedi the president of the Democratic Republic of Congo arriving here at Entebbe International Airport. It is the 11th of May 2026 and he is greeted there by the former Prime Minister of Uganda Right Honorable John Patrick Amama Mbabazi.

[00:02:37]Shortly he will also shake the hands of the receiving team there.

[00:02:42]It's a hug of welcome to the Pearl of Africa. Then to take salutes receiving salutes from the service chiefs who are led by the commander of the reserve force of Uganda Lieutenant General Charles Otema and thereafter he will be walked to the guard of honor and of course there is entertainment here to usher in him and wish him well stay for the few or for the time he will choose to be here in Uganda. And for me I want to mute this sound and give you the ambience here at Entebbe International Airport.

[00:04:24]Uganda and the DRC have worked closely for over years, not only during the tenure of President Tshisekedi, but even the his predecessors. There was a lot of achievements, a lot of collaborations which were taken between the two countries. And we guess under that gesture, that is why His Excellency Tshisekedi is here.
