Weather forecasting involves predicting temperature patterns and precipitation timing based on atmospheric conditions, where warm temperatures (85-90°F) are expected for the current day and tomorrow, followed by a transition to cooler temperatures (upper 70s to lower 80s) as clouds and rain move in from Wednesday through the weekend, with widespread showers and thunderstorms expected throughout the week as the weather pattern shifts.

We've been doing business with Bank Independent [music] since the '70s and to know that that they've got our back and it means a lot. They've always been there and it's always been just been a phone call away.
From the Tennessee Valley Weather Channel, this is your weather live at 5:00.
Well, to start out this Monday late afternoon with a live look at the Arctic Air Sky Cam Network. As we get into the 5:00 hour and we are starting to see cloud cover increase out there, but still plenty of blue sky and sunshine today leading to very warm temperatures.
And we're still on the warm side here as of 5:00. Most of us between 85 and 90 here at 5:00 and most of us were up to the upper 80s and lower 90s this afternoon. We will be similarly very warm tomorrow and then clouds and rain chances bring the temperatures down for the rest of the week. We'll talk about that as we go forward. No rainfall out there in the immediate area today, but there have been a couple of showers off to the east of us near the Georgia state line in northeast Alabama and also some spotty showers and thunderstorms down to our south in south central Alabama. For most of tomorrow, the thunderstorms will be off to the west of us, but we do have some low end rain chances here late tomorrow afternoon tomorrow night, but once we get to Wednesday, the rain chances open up in earnest and then that continues through the rest of the week, the weekend, and likely into a large part of next week as well. We're really going to turn the pattern around here as we go forward. First off tonight, partly cloudy skies this evening, very warm out there. It's still continuing through 6:00 p.m. And it's going to be a warm buggy night for the overnight. We're not going to get out of the upper 60s and lower 70s for overnight lows, a breezy south wind. I don't really think you're going to get showers reaching the surface. This is just more of the model reflecting that moisture is increasing in the atmosphere as we head on through our Tuesday here, mostly cloudy to partly sunny skies, back up between 85 and 90, maybe a 91 or 92 in north Alabama somewhere for daytime highs. But later in the afternoon, there may be a couple of thunder showers here off in our western counties, especially west Tennessee, north Mississippi.
Maybe easing into portions of Wayne County or western Lauderdale, western Colbert, but I'm not expecting much out of that as we get later into the overnight, we may have some showers and thunderstorms moving in after midnight, but I think the better rain chances for tomorrow night hold off until closer to daybreak when showers and thunderstorms are likely into the morning hours of Wednesday, and that's not going to be all the rain for Wednesday. We expect off and on rounds of showers and thunderstorms into the afternoon and the evening hours as well. Some of that rainfall locally heavy. I'm not expecting severe storms though because we're going to temper the instability with the clouds and the rain around.
We're going to hold those temperatures back to the upper 70s and lower 80s, more in the way of widespread showers and thunderstorms for Thursday. We're going to see that again Friday, and we're going to see that Saturday and Sunday as well. And I'm honestly thinking that pattern continues on into at least part if not most of next week.
We're going to get some significant rainfall eventually adding up here as we go through the next 7, 10, maybe 14 days. So one more hot day tomorrow when we're in the upper 80s, lower 90s, and then at warmest, low to mid-80s here for the rest of the week and the weekend.
There could be several days here where we don't get out of the 70s though because of clouds and rainfall around.
It's just that because if you get a little bit of sunshine, you can warm it to the lower 80s. We're going to lean that way and then we'll adjust each day as we get closer. If it looks like the rain's going to take over more for the day versus hours of sunshine. So, any of these days where you see lower 80s, it may actually be mid to upper 70s instead, depending on how long-lasting the rainfall is. But, no rain tonight, increasing clouds though, and warm overnight lows between 65 and 70 for most of us.
And then thunderstorms are mainly west for our Tuesday, but by late afternoon and evening, a few of them try to sneak into our western counties. And then after midnight, I do think showers and thunderstorms start to move into the area late tomorrow night. Partly sunny through the day though and very warm, highs a couple degrees either side of 90. And then we back the temperatures off significantly and look at this, showers and thunderstorms a daily, widespread thing from Wednesday all the way into early next week. Certainly good news because we have not yet eradicated this drought that we have across the area. Let's look at your latest 7-day forecast. I'll be back at 6:00 and 9:00 with another check of your local weather.
