Serbia Crazy Protests 🤯

[00:00:00]Hey Serbia, what's new with you? So, we had some crazy elections cuz our people are fed up. They want our president gone. But why? What happened? Well, our president, Alexander Vuch, has been in power for 12 years. People are massing that he's controlling the media, weakening democracy, silencing critics, and just concentrating on staying in power. Oh, wow. All that. Yeah. Well, people started getting really angry after a railway station roof canopy collapsed in 2024, and it killed 16 people. And the problem is it was new.

[00:00:27]So, people were saying that the government was cutting corners and that people died because the officials were careless. Well, they just started protesting this week. No, last year there was a huge protest and we got a huge one this week that had over a 100,000 people and they all want your president to be gone. Oh, yeah. They want early elections so that they can finally get rid of our president. But unfortunately, there was some violence in the protests. Oh, what happened?

[00:00:50]Well, some people threw rocks and bottles at the police. So, the police responded with tear gas, pepper spray, and stun grenades. and 23 people were arrested. But when are your elections going to be happening though? Well, our president said between September and November of this year.
