High humidity makes weather feel more uncomfortable than temperature alone because it prevents the body from cooling down through sweating, creating a 'sauna-like' effect; in Tampa Bay, humidity levels in the 'sticky zone' combined with low rain chances result in muggy conditions, with isolated rain showers expected inland rather than widespread precipitation.

10 Weather: Sunday evening forecast, Tampa Bay area; May 10, 2026Added:
I love them when I see somebody that has found their passion, Colleen. Bacon is life. He knows where he needed to be.
>> Yes, he did. Yeah. I'll tell you what, we're baking out there.
>> [laughter] >> All right. So, the temperatures right now are in the low 90s, some upper 80s out there.
The only place that feels a little bit better would be closer to the coast. So, a lot of people must listen to my advice. I was yapping all week long saying, "Go to the beach. Take Mom to the beach. Take her out on the boat.
Leave her in the AC." Because it is just so hot and uncomfortable out It's really not the heat that gets to you. It's the humidity, right? So, we do have those better marks, those air temperatures that are in the low 80s. But, as you crawl inland, that's where those temperatures really start to get into those low 90s. Now, sun will be setting in the next couple hours here. So, even after the sun sets, we're in the upper 70s. I mean, still going to be a muggy summer-like night. But, as far as rain goes, our rain chances are very, very low for tonight. At least Tampa, not expecting much rain here. Our interior locations, you guys have seen a little bit more rain east of I-75, east of Tampa, and north of Tampa, too. Dew point temperature is in that sticky zone. That's one of the reasons Well, it is the reason why it's so comf- uncomfortable outside, right? You have that humidity. It's really hard for your body to cool down. You step outside, it's like you're in a sauna. It's very soupy. As we look at satellite radar, plenty of cloud cover out there with all that available moisture that we have. It looks like we had some nice storms recently in the southeast corner of Polk County and Highlands County starting to exit Highlands County at this time, moving closer to Buckhead Ridge. Now, as we take a zoom in here, this is the area that we saw rain earlier today, but now that has dried up. And we also have some rain down by Arcadia, and that is also on the drier side. So, these downpours are isolated to begin with, but then they also don't last very long. And it kind of just moves off to the east, and then it's over and done with. But, the areas that did see the rain for today, congratulations because it's been so dry recently. Now, we are looking at more rain chances come Monday and Tuesday, but again, not everybody going to see it. The rain chances actually have been trimmed back a bit.
I'm sorry, my friends. So, satellite radar showing that little boundary that's across our state right now. Most of that rain is on the other side of that and a couple lightning flashes of lightning out there, too. We don't have to worry about that. As we look into the rest of tonight, we just have those clouds hanging out with us. Highlands County, looks like you guys will be the lucky ones to get that continue rain the next couple of hours here, but let's move into Monday. We give it another shot. Here we are tomorrow morning. We have some patchy cloud cover as well as some early morning fog. As we move into the afternoon, lunchtime, those clouds hang out with us and boom, here we are.
3:00. Now, notice it's not as widespread as the models were originally pointing toward when we were looking at this earlier in the week, you've been following along all week long, we were saying, "Oh man, Monday really looks like our day." Well, they fooled us. So, uh we will have rain out there, don't get me wrong, and a couple downpours definitely possible. It's just not going to be a widespread rain event like we were hoping. As we move into Tuesday, very early Tuesday, basically the overnight hours Monday night into Tuesday, that's when we have another chance for that rain. This is very early, 7:00 Tuesday morning. As we go into Tuesday afternoon, we may get another pop as remainder of that front kind of sinks through. So, we do have an opportunity again for Tuesday afternoon, but all in all, rainfall totals very low for the coast. Again, those interior locations, inland areas, you guys will have closer to a half inch. You can absolutely get more than a half inch.
This is kind of just the European model taking a little rounding into how much rain we are expecting generally, but you absolutely can get more than that if you're one of those lucky areas is see those isolated downpours. 7-day forecast here, no relief with these 90s. They press on for yet another week. Humidity will have a short break from that Wednesday, but then that ramps right back up, too.
