This video documents the construction of the Łódź Metro Tunnel (Średnica Kolejowa Aglomeracyjna), a major urban infrastructure project connecting Łódź Fabryczna with Łódź Kaliska and Łódź Żabieniec. The project involves building an underground metro station at Śródmieście using a roof construction method with deep retaining walls (26-30 meters), reinforced with massive reinforced concrete beams over 20 meters long. The construction faces challenging urban conditions including complex clay soil layers and groundwater, requiring solutions like cement injection, anti-filtering screens, and deep well drainage. The project is being executed by PBDiM with PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe as the investor, funded by EU Cohesion Fund resources.
