This comparison highlights that the gap between cloud giants and local models has shrunk to mere aesthetic polish rather than functional capability. Qwen3.6’s performance on consumer hardware proves that high-end AI development is no longer a proprietary privilege.

Claude Opus 4.8 vs Qwen3.6 27B | Local vs Cloud Head-to-Head追加:
No way. All right, meteor.
Oh!
Oh, got him. GG silly humans. Better luck next time. You can move very fast, but Oh my god, they move fast, too.
The Beast dropped yesterday.
Claude Opus 4.8 which is showing significant improvements from 4.7, which was already a tank. We're going to put it up against Qwen 3.6 27B cuz we have to.
We got to do it.
Now, we are running 27B locally with thinking mode for precise coding. Uh it's going to be a Q8 XL quant on sloth.
Q8 cache tensor split on 23090s. We're running llama.cpp with llama swap to get us going here. Open code web UI and then Claude code. And we'll see what happens.
Uh prompts are going to going to go from easier to harder. We're going to do a AI model testing command center dashboard.
I want to see what the dashboard's looking like with the new Opus. Then we're going to do a Planet Chaos simulator and a FPS survival game, which I haven't tried yet with Qwen. [music] I'm a little nervous, but we're going to try it.
First prompt we're going to do here is the AI model testing command center.
We are going to tell the models they're in a AI head-to-head coding competition.
We've got a good bit of instruction there telling them to go over their work. Check it. Don't give me any errors.
All right. Let's see what happens.
All right. Well, Qwen 3.6 27B coming in at 18 minutes, 18 seconds. Not sure about Claude. We'll put that on the screen up there right now. And tokens per seconds for Quinn coming in at 23.50.
Okay.
Very good. Let's start off uh checking out Quinn's.
Wow.
It's actually pretty good.
Huh.
Okay.
No hover tooltips. All right.
This is interesting.
I like that. The background on that.
That looks good.
Good job, Quinn.
I know you don't stand a chance in in this, but good job.
Wow.
That's cool.
Well done.
I like it. Solid attempt.
But I'm sure it's not going to be good enough.
Not for the Opus. Oh, these are updating live.
It's pretty cool.
Okay, well.
Quinn did good.
Good for you, Quinn.
All right. Let's see what Opus did.
Brother.
That is sick.
This is impressive.
Wow. This is um I don't know what to say. That Dude, that looks so good.
Oh my lord.
Everything is glowing.
Nice. Okay.
The glowing's a little cut off right there. Looks fantastic. If you're into dark mode stuff, this I mean, that head-to-head match-up right there looks nice.
I like that.
All right. And y'all can um check out these outputs for yourself. You want to test them on tokenchaser.net, and all the prompts will be there. You can grab the prompts, test them out in your own models, or check out the uh outputs. All right, next prompt we're going to do is a Planet Coaster Simulator. This is probably the most in-depth prompt I've done yet. There's a lot of instruction.
Uh it might take Quinn a couple days.
But uh we'll we'll wait for it. Let's see what happens.
All right. Quinn 3.6 27B coming in at 25 minutes 49 seconds.
Claude Opus 6 will be on the screen right there. I'm not sure it didn't take too long.
Uh Quinn spent quite a bit of time going over the code, making fixes and improvements.
God, I hope it functions. Let's try uh Quinn's first. And pray that it functions somewhat.
That's going to be a no-go.
Right off the bat here.
Nothing is happening. It freezes. So, I'm going to give it another chance while we check out Claude's.
All right, let's check out Claude's. See how it did.
Okay, that's pretty nice right there.
That uh No way.
Global population.
This is snazzy.
Fill water.
Is it fill flood flood it?
All right, the population still rising.
Even though okay, water levels at a hundred. Drain water.
Oh, a little tornado moving through there. Oh, you can spin it, too.
My God.
All right, meteor.
Oh.
Oh, got him. Let's do another one.
Jesus.
Meteors meteors.
That's pretty cool.
Lots of shaking vibration.
Hit him with the plague.
That's crazy. All right, wildfires anyone?
You know, that population is dropping.
Ice age.
Is that cold, buddy?
All right.
Heat wave.
Heat wave.
Heat wave.
Oh, the temp is rising over here. Wow.
Event timeline.
This is interesting.
It works pretty well.
Alien attack.
The UFOs, dude. That's cool.
I'm not healing the planet. No, thank you.
Oh. Oh.
That was a big earthquake.
Oh, it says it's struggling.
Yeah, I'd say so.
It's gone through a rough couple days.
Can we get the pop to zero?
Let's hit them with with everything.
Uh-oh.
We're dropping quick.
Near extinction.
That's cool.
Heatwave.
Keep it going.
Aliens, finish them off.
Drain water. Y'all don't need any water.
Aliens are taking over.
What happens at zero population?
Extinction. See you.
Well, that worked surprisingly well for a first go. All right, Quinn is done making the fixes. Let's see if we've got a working product.
There's something. We've got something.
All right. Let's see if it works.
Event log at the bottom there.
We've got all of the disasters. Okay, we can spin it.
Good job.
Wow. Alien attack. Yes. Let's go, Quinn.
Okay, that is a long alien attack.
Okay, so Oh, you have to enable and disable things.
>> [snorts] >> Oh, so we can enable everything?
Oh, no way.
Look at the event log down there.
This population works.
Quinn did it.
I didn't think Quinn was going to come through. All right, all right, all right, slow it down. Slow it down. Let's leave a couple people alive here.
Fill with water. Give them something to drink.
All right, let's wipe out the rest of the population here.
Shake that planet. This works so well.
I really didn't think Quinn was going to come through on this.
Infection rate 100%. That's what I'm talking about. That alien attack's pretty nice, I must say.
Meteor strike has the whole screen overlay flashing. Drain the water. Don't give him nothing to drink.
All right. Below a billion.
And dropping quick.
Wipe them out.
GG silly humans. Better luck next time.
I did not think Quinn was going to come through on this one. I did notice you can use your keyboard to enable and disable things. That's really cool.
That's I'm proud of Quinn.
If it would have put those little UFOs out there shooting like that I'd have had to take Quinn to dinner and a movie.
Do you know what I'm saying?
But overall, this is this is fantastic for all local.
That's great.
All right.
Good job, Quinn.
I wouldn't say it's as good as Opus, but it made it. It did it. A playable chaos simulator. Good job. All right, on to the next prompt. All right, last prompt we're going to do here is a midnight mall FPS survival. I actually have not tried a FPS with Quinn. I've been wanting to. I'm a little nervous.
But we'll see. I think it'll produce something playable.
All right. Um you're going to coding head to head. Good bit of instructions.
Go over your work. Don't give me any errors. And let's see what happens.
Okay. Finally done. Quinn coming in at a whopping 28 minutes 13 seconds. All right. Um not sure how long Opus took. We'll put it on the screen right there.
Tokens per second. Quinn ended at 21.95.
Okay.
And just for reference, these three prompts um running them on a pro Claude subscription used 80% of the 5-hour window. So, luckily, we did not as of right now, we have not had to ask for any fixes or that would have probably pushed us over.
So, there's that. That's why we're going local, baby. All right, let's test out Quinn's first and see if it could give us a working product here. Midnight Mall: Survive the Dark. Enter the mall.
Okay.
Interesting.
Where What? Why am I dying?
Okay, I can see on the mini map that there are zombies rushing at me. I just can't see them.
Eat Oh, the door opens. Good job. Okay.
Well, all right, I just picked something up.
I'm getting beat up, but I cannot see them. So, I'm going to give Quinn the opportunity to fix this real quick while we check out Claude's.
All right, let's see how uh Opus 4.8 did.
Midnight Mall: Survive the Night.
All right, let's see.
Wow, this is dark. That's surely a midnight mall. There's a flashlight.
Oh.
Okay.
Let me refresh it see if it had find ammo med kits batteries and keys unlock doors to find more supplies. Your flashlight dims as batteries drain. Keep it charged. That's pretty cool.
Is that a door?
All right. Oh, hello.
This is um Okay.
Uh I want to try and pick up something.
Oh. What is that?
What does K mean?
All right. What does A mean?
Oh, ammo.
Okay.
This is a um I mean it it functions.
It sure does.
What does K do again? Okay, key acquired. All right, so then we can open doors.
Let's find a door to open. See if that works.
This isn't a door.
It is it took that midnight serious cuz this is Wave one cleared. All right.
Well, oh, what is that? Flashlight charged.
Uh a brighter flashlight would be nice.
But I get what it's doing.
Out of ammo. So, that's not good.
Press R. Okay.
We're good.
All right. Well, let's see how Quinn's doing. Uh Quinn's cooking along there.
All right, Quinn says it's done. That fix took 6 minutes.
Let's see if it is playable.
Okay.
Oh my lord. All right.
No way.
This looks very, very similar to Opus.
You can move very fast, but Oh my god, they move fast, too.
Wow. This is borderline the same thing that OPUS PUT SLOW DOWN.
OH NO, THAT'S NOT GOOD.
WOW. All right, I'm impressed. Um Quinn really came through here. I did not think I think I've got a collision problem. Can I Okay, I can't walk through all the walls, but I feel like I'm glitching through some of the walls.
Open the door. The door works, which I believe you have to have a key for.
That's not a door, is it? Is there a door on the other side?
Getting a little lost with the walls. It seems a little off.
Uh is there one more enemy somewhere?
Can't tell, but um Quinn is up there.
Uh doing much, much better than I expected.
So, it did fantastic on that chaos simulator, much better than I expected.
Um Opus's dashboard is a little more creative, more n- nicer looking, but this is pretty good. The mini map works. Opus's mini map actually had the ammo overlay on it, which made it a little confusing.
It says there's an enemy somewhere over here. Okay, there you are.
Can we go to the second wave at least?
Oh, and it's God, they move fast. All right, so slow them down and that would be pretty good. There I They are pretty even compared.
I wasn't going to expect anything out of Quinn with that, but well done. Well done, Quinn.
All right. I mean, there you have it.
Quinn can keep up locally. Quinn 27B is out here competing with Opus.
That's That's good to see. That makes me makes me happy for Quinn there. If you want to see the outputs, you can go to choke tokenchaser.net. Check them out for yourself, grab the prompts, try them in your own models, see what happens. But, that is it for today. Quinn 3.6 27B Q8XL Unsloth tensored on the the 3090s running locally against the big bad Opus 4.8.
That's it for today. Thank you guys for watching.
