Scientists discover over 1,100 new marine species in landmark Ocean Census

[00:00:03]In [music] our third duration census has discovered over a thousand new species.

[00:00:08]These new discoveries were found [music] from the deep sea of Antarctica to volcanic sea mounds of Japan and the shallow waters of Comoros. It's really been global.

[00:00:25]From our species discovery workshops to also the awards with taxonomists, we've been bringing together scientists from a network of across 650 institutes. Such kind of collaborations are extremely important. This kind of international workshop helps early career researchers and young taxonomists like me to know the biodiversity of the other ocean.

[00:00:48]There is a real urgency about the world that we live in and it is changing scarily rapidly.
