Solo Van Life & a Hidden Place Frozen in Time

[00:00:00]Today we're going to check out this amazing little church. And I mean little tiny church. It's back from the 1700s.

[00:00:07]I've never been here before and I really wanted to check it out. Also, we're going to do some organizing in the van.

[00:00:17]Okay, so I need to do some organization in my life badly. Little spaces need big time organization, and I am not an organized person at all.

[00:00:29]Um, so to start off with, I got my Amazon orders in this week. And we have a planner because I'd like to get these um videos organized a little better than the scatteredness in my brain and get them figured out um on paper. I know I could do it on my phone, but I am an old school girl. I like it on pen and paper.

[00:00:52]I really enjoy the process and it's good for my, you know, hand or eye coordination, all that stuff. Um, I keep saying that, but this hand is actually sore today. So, I'm hoping I think it's in I think it's in one of these bags.

[00:01:07]Um, I let the grandb babies open them up for me and then I said, "Actually, I don't want to see what's in them, so put them back in the bags." So, I'm hoping it's in there. Um, okay.

[00:01:20]This is a tray for my top drawer. Wait till you see my top drawer. It is a hot mess. A hot mess. And it definitely needs some organization, but that's supposed to be a two-piece set. So, I'm hoping the other part Oh, yep. They just mixed up the bags.

[00:01:37]There's the second part that's really going to help me. Y'all know cutlery drawers, hot mess, especially when it's a cutlery junk drawer, straw drawer, you know what I mean. Um, also got me some Post-it notes. I like the big ones because I don't always write in small.

[00:01:53]So, that'll help with the planner overlapping.

[00:01:59]It's a thing. It's It's just a thing.

[00:02:02]Um, oh, thank goodness it did come and then my wrist brace. So, the other day I'm staying at my daughter's, right? I'm in their lane way. And the other day the pigs got out and they kind of ran across the road and um we had to go after them. Well, I'm not the most coordinated soul. So, taking off after the pigs, I slipped and I fell on the road and I caught myself with this hand. Somehow bunked my head here. Caught myself with this hand. Have a massive black and green bruise on my hip on this side. So, I kind of did a weird fall, I guess. Um, I can move my fingers. I can still like I shouldn't open the door of the van with that hand because it really pinches when I do it.

[00:02:52]So, I think I have like a a sprain or something like that. I'm not going to go to the doctor unless it doesn't go away soon. Let's get on with this junk drawer and see if we can get this organized.

[00:03:13]I have been trying to think of places that aren't too far away that would be interesting for all of you. And I think what I have a problem with is because I was born and raised 45 minutes south or no north of here. Um, everything is so I don't want to say boring but less exciting to me.

[00:03:40]But I keep forgetting that you all live in places that I would find extremely interesting because I haven't been there. So, I'm sure it's vice versa, right? That you guys feel the same way about where I am. So, I thought for the next little bit until we get the van fixed and it's reliable, we would do a few little um tours of things around here and let you kind of see the area that I was born and raised in. Probably like a 2hour spand around here. Um does that sound exciting for all of you? I hope so. And there's some places that I know I drive by all the time and I think, geez, I should stop in there sometime and see what that is and that I've never done. Um, so I think we'll do something like that. In fact, that's where we'll be heading in just a few minutes. But before that, I also got in um I think last week actually these came in. You know, I've been talking about my backsplash and I how I wanted that pink and white plaid and how I was going to try out different top coats because it keeps cracking and peeling off. Well, I found something that I like better.

[00:04:53]I've tried a few top coats and it still isn't holding up. Um, in fact, those plastic tiles aren't holding up well with the heat. I had one sitting in behind and when I had my little stove on the countertop, um because they're that squishy plastic, it's got like padding in behind it. Um they kind of melted a bit. So, they're not the answer no matter what top coat I put on. So, instead, I got these. What do you think of this?

[00:05:39]If this backsplash should go horizontal like this or I'm not putting them up yet because my hand is just too sore. Doing this is already sending some horrible pains up my elbow. Or if I should be doing it this way. Now, of course, they've got to be trimmed to fit properly, but which one do you like better? Horizontal or vertical? Please let me know in the comments because this is what I'm going to be working on I believe next week.
