Hey guys, welcome back to the channel.
We are doing my week 17 weigh-in on tzapatide. I am very happy this week. I dare say I hate to make any proclamations, but I dare say I think I'm finding my sweet spot, okay, with my dosing and with my like food and all of that kind of. I don't know. Life is always going to have its ups and downs, right? But I think things are going in the right direction. And as always, I have a plan for what's next. So, let's dig into how much weight I lost and what's going on.
So, if we have not met yet, hi, my name is Megan. I'm 42. I'm a mom, a wife, business owner, YouTuber, all of the good things. And I started this weight loss journey in December of 2025 at 18.
No, yes, at 188.4 4 lb. That is not the highest I've ever been. Uh I before I gave birth to my daughter, I think I was about 230 lb in June of 2022.
After I gave birth to her, I went back down into the 190s or so cuz I was very sick after I gave birth. So, I lost weight fairly quickly. But then I really hung out in the 190s to the upper 180s for the next almost 3 years. Long story short, here we are today and I am happy because last week I weighed in at 173.2 lb and today I am 171.6.
So I lost 1.6 lb.
I'm so happy. I'm so happy guys because I feel like the first week that I gave myself a 5 milligram of trespatide injection, I had a big sort of whoosh weight loss, like more than a pound. And then since then, the last couple of weeks, it's been under a pound every week. So to to lose a pound and a half feels good. It feels like good progress.
Feels like I'm moving forward. I'm going in the right direction. I am happy. Now, what have I been doing to achieve this?
Well, not counting calories, that is for sure.
I still am not counting calories, but what I've been doing is really focusing on dialing in the appetite suppression with the medication. So, in last week's weigh-in, I talked about how exactly I do my dosing, like how I find my levels of medication in the body. Uh, I use an app called Me. Again, I did hear that some people were having trouble finding it in the app store. I don't know if it's gone forever or if there was a glitch. I'm not sure, but that is the app that I use. It still works for me.
And what I have been doing is tracking my levels and checking in with myself, right? noticing daytoday how I'm feeling with my hunger, how I'm feeling with getting I like to call it getting snackish. And if I notice that I'm starting to want to snack throughout the day, if I notice that I'm starting to think a lot about food, that I'm repeatedly coming and grabbing chips um or thinking about sweets, that kind of a thing, then I know it's time to take my next dose. I do not wait the full seven days that Eli Liy recommends and that is quite honestly just because I what I what I know about the medication is that it has a 5day halflife. So really the instruction should be that you take the medication every 5 days but I believe this is just a guess. I don't know. But I believe that the reason the instructions say to do every seven is just because that's easier to say, oh, people will take their medication every Monday or every Friday, but people it's harder to get patient compliance with the medication if they're having to keep track and do it every 5 days because it's going to be a different day every time. So, that's my understanding, my belief. I don't know if it's wrong or right, but that's how I think about it that the 5 days is really optimal.
And then this week, I actually only waited 4 days. Um, the minimum on the Eli Liy insert for Tzepide says you have to wait a minimum of 3 days, so 72 hours in between doses. That is their recommendation with the medication. So, I feel like anything like I know a lot of people do split dosing where they maybe they want to achieve the same effects that a that a maybe a 10 milligram dose would give them, but they don't want to take the full 10 milligrams once a week. So, they take 5 milligrams one day and then maybe 3 or 4 days later they take the other 5 milligrams. So, I'm doing something kind of in between, right? I am just taking a smaller dose every four to five days to achieve a similar level to what I would be getting if I was taking about a 5 milligram dose every seven. Um I find that this shorter period of time kind of keeps things more even for me, keeps the appetite suppression more even and keeps me from going overboard with the snacking. So, that is what I've been doing to manage things without counting calories. However, I do have some news.
I'm going to meet with a dietitian next week. I'm going to meet with a dietitian. Uh, I think that this dietitian actually also understands GLP-1 stuff as well. So, I will talk to her. I know a couple weeks ago I was saying that I wanted to meet with a doctor or a nurse practitioner who really understands GLP1s, but since that is sort of off the table for the moment, I'm doing the next best thing. I want to talk to a dietitian who understands what I'm trying to achieve, who can give me some pointers and who maybe can help me find a way to balance what I'm eating without getting super like militant about it. So, that is on my agenda this coming week. And then as far as exercise goes, to be totally transparent with you, it was a rough week this past week.
I did not exercise every day. My daughter was homesick. Um, she got sick like last Saturday all the way through Wednesday. We kept her home from daycare. Um, and then she's still having some like coughing and runny nose and stuff. And so, it has just been a week.
I was also a little bit sick at the beginning of this week too again, but this time it was just more like head cold kind of stuff. So, I wasn't about to get up at 5:00 a.m. and hit the treadmill. Um, but if you saw my last video that I put out the other day or yesterday, I don't know, that I just put out about my Renfo Morphoscan Nova Scale, you will know that I am a little concerned about muscle. Like, I don't want to be losing muscle mass. So, I really this week I'm going to concentrate on the food stuff because I'm talking to the dietitian, but my like grand goal for this next quarter, for the summer, the summer quarter, uh is I do want to get to the gym and use the weight machines at least two days a week realistically. Uh even if it's only like 10 15 minutes, I think it will make a difference. So, that's how things have gone. That's where I'm at. And it's kind of a short one today, but I just wanted to give you the update. I have lost a total of 16.8 lbs for my whole journey.
Uh the 160s are like within view for me.
That is my next big goal is to get under 170 lbs. I have not been under 170 lbs in about 2 years. Um, and I was only there for like a week right before Thanksgiving and then it went away again. So, I don't know. And the last time I've maintained under 170 lbs has probably been over a decade. I've been before I got pregnant, I was about 173 lbs for years. So, this will be exciting. I am so thrilled. I cannot believe I'm about to get under 170 again soon. Um, I don't know that that really means anything. I think it's just sort of like a mental thing that has been part of my life for a long time. Um, that I just this 170s were like my my new normal.
Um, so I'm excited to see what my body can do. I'm excited to see how far transep can take me. I'm excited to see where a dietician can take me. like just I'm very excited. I'm look I'm very optimistic today. Uh along those lines, I did want to say one more thing. I wanted to extend an invitation to you. I know last month I talked about my accountability group and I got some really good response for that. I have been doing my accountability group online live with about five other people. So, myself and five friends uh from here and every single week we've been meeting on Wednesdays. We've been talking about what our own goals are, whether it's weight loss, um finances, health, decluttering. Somebody in our group is writing a book. That's their goal. And so, it's just been so encouraging to know that every single Wednesday, I'm going to meet with these people. We're going to check in on how we're doing. We're going to be held accountable for what we said we were going to do the previous week and it's just been fun. It's been a delight and it's been so cool to learn from each other. Everybody has such unique perspectives. So if that's something that you maybe missed out on this time or that you didn't even know about because you're new. Um I am going to run two sessions in May. So I'm going to continue the Wednesday group. It's going to be 10:30 a.m. Central time on Wednesdays and then I'm going to start one on Sunday mornings super early, 700 a.m. Central before the rest of the family wakes up. Just a really good way to start the week, get motivated, check in with some friends, and just encourage each other.
