Now viewers, we have some more updates coming in as far as the oath-taking ceremony is concerned. Now there are extensive arrangements that are in place. The cops have put in place extensive security arrangements for the Chief Minister's oath-taking ceremony at Lok Bhavan tomorrow. [music] The venue and the surrounding areas in fact have been divided into multiple security sectors with special protection for VVIPs, dignitaries, and those who have been invited. In fact, 1,000 people are also going to be part of this particular ceremony and uh we have with us Akshara who's joining us live right now for more on this.
Akshara, can you help us understand the kind of preparations that are underway for the swearing-in ceremony?
CM-designate D.K. Shivakumar himself had said that it's going to be a low-key affair, but with the kind of details that we can we have got from sources, it seems it's going to be a mega ceremony tomorrow.
>> Well, that's absolutely, you know, D.K.
Shivakumar did say that it will be a very low-key event for him. He did not want to cause any public inconvenience, but at the very same time if you take a look at the preparations that are going on, a tight security has been ensured across Bengaluru. The Bengaluru City Police Commissioner today held a meeting with the various police officials and after [snorts] that he gave out the details that stated that there will be two zones, zone A and zone B. The one inside where the the Lok Lok Bhavan where you know, the oath-taking ceremony will be taking place, that is zone A and uh outside premises is zone B. So, various measures have been taken and very few guests have been invited to the oath-taking ceremony. So, because of that issue, you know, the Congress government here has also ensured that they will set up LED screens across Bengaluru. Right now, the major spots are near the old Congress office and the new Congress office. So, there LED screenings will be there. So, seating arrangements have been made for over 1,000 members, uh party workers, and supporters as well to ensure that they witness the LED screening. So, we'll have to wait and watch what necessary measures have been undertaken. Right now, what we know is that a tight security has been pulled up near the premises of Lok Bhavan and also anti-stampede, anti-protest measures have also been taken and police officials have been called in to ensure that no untoward incidents have happened tomorrow. So, these are the measures that have been undertaken by the Bengaluru city police commissioner to ensure that no untoward incident happens. Even though D.K. Shivakumar has clearly said that you know it will be a low-key event. He doesn't want to make it a big or mega event. Still, you will see various supporters of D.K. Shivakumar that throng into the Bengaluru city and it will be a task for Bengaluru city police officials to ensure that you know the event that goes on smoothly and no untoward incidents happen here in Bengaluru during the oath-taking ceremony of designate chief minister D.K.
Shivakumar.
>> Sources Akshara that there is going to be an open jeep procession also wherein the chief minister after taking the oath will be going from Lok Bhavan to Vidhana Soudha and I believe he will be waving at people. I mean, how is that going to really happen? Give us more details.
>> Well, if you take a look at the the path from Lok Bhavan to Vidhana Soudha, it is a very small stretch and from what we are you know getting is that this D.K.
Shivakumar will be going on in a vehicle from the Lok Bhavan to Vidhana Soudha.
So, tight security will be provided there as well absolutely and regarding this as well, we'll have to wait and watch how many people will be you know gathering there. A zero traffic will also be issued in that particular stretch and the police officials will have to manage and try to ensure that no more workers will gather there because you have a lot of supporters of D.K.
Shivakumar from the nearby Kanakapura region will be obviously uh you know will be eager to uh you know witness this particular event and see D.K.
Shivakumar as well. So, they'll be joining in large numbers. So, let's wait and watch how things will uh you know plan out and uh go go forward here in the oath-taking ceremony where D.K.
Shivakumar will be taking the oath tomorrow. And so, that is the stretch where he'll be uh you know going in a open vehicle from uh Lok Lok Bhavan to the Vidhana Soudha. And uh tight security measures will be ensured and so that no workers or supporters uh you know come into that particular lane or into that particular lane. And the government is also providing links as said by themselves that you know you can watch it wherever you want.
Just don't you know come in large numbers in that particular stretch and uh cause any public inconvenience.
>> Right. So, clearly uh there are high security arrangements that are put in place at this point in time.
Preparations are underway, but Akshara, now this even as there is still no consensus on who all are really going to be part of D.K. Shivakumar's cabinet tomorrow because here in the national capital, the meetings are still continuing and we have now learned that there is going to be another meeting at 6:00 this evening. Uh
