A line of showers and storms expected tomorrow

[00:00:07]>> Well, the rain has been kind of off and on here in Madison County today, and it seems like it's going to continue on for the next 24 hours or so.

[00:00:14]>> Yeah, we have just one more day of rain, and then we'll finally get that change in the weather pattern that we have been just praying for over the past week or so. Uh but we do have to get through a day of some showers and possibly some stronger thunderstorms. This is the latest from the Storm Prediction Center for Monday. Um all of us across the Tennessee Valley under that marginal one out of five risk to see those stronger thunderstorms. And again, we're not tracking a widespread severe weather risk tomorrow. The main threats that we are tracking are some damaging winds upwards to 50 mph. Now, with all the rainfall that we have seen over the past week or so, the ground is really saturated. So, any winds like this could knock some trees over and cause power outages. Another thing we're tracking is some heavy downpours that could lead to localized flooding and some frequent lightning as well. A lot like what we saw today. Also tracking a small threat to see some hail, and again, that tornado threat is never zero, but it is very, very low. 31 Triple Doppler right now starting to trend drier as we head towards the evening. Just one little patch of some heavier rainfall over towards Guntersville right now and along Highway 69 going closer to Arab and Diamond.

[00:01:29]>> So, if you're over there, you may be seeing some heavy rainfall within the next uh 20 or 30 minutes. Future radar showing that we are going to be dry as we head towards the overnight hours.

[00:01:40]Waking up on your Monday, we may encounter some patchy fog, so just be mindful if you're going to be out early in the morning.

[00:01:47]And as we head towards the lunchtime hours, this is when we'll see that severe weather risk start to increase.

[00:01:52]We'll have a line of showers and storms make their way to uh the Shoals by around lunchtime, this is 12:00 p.m.

[00:01:59]It'll continue to push eastward as we head towards 2:00 p.m. affecting areas along the Huntsville metro as well as Decatur metro and I-65. Continue to push eastward by 3:00 p.m. affecting areas over towards Sand Mountain. As we go closer to late afternoon, evening hours, we do start to trend drier. We may see a couple showers over towards the Shoals as we're heading off to bed tomorrow night. This is thanks to another round of rain off to our west. But all in all, seeing drier conditions as we head towards a Tuesday. And by Tuesday around lunchtime, take a look at this. A whole lot of sunshine across the Tennessee Valley, something that we have not seen in quite some time. And we'll keep the dry conditions throughout most of the day on your Tuesday. And then the dry conditions, they stick around as we head throughout the rest of the work week. So really just got to get through Monday's rain and then we'll start to see some drier conditions across the Tennessee Valley. Back to work tomorrow. High temperature in the afternoon, 85°. Warm and muggy, just like what we have been seeing this weekend. Temperatures actually take a drop as we head towards Tuesday through Thursday. That's thanks to that cold front finally setting off to the south. And look at this, sunshine for the next couple of days. Not seeing any dry conditions right now. You can see some raindrops on our Huntsville sky cam network powered by Thompson Roofing and Construction. 71°. That humidity at 90%. It is muggy out there. Forecast lows tonight are going to be in those mid to upper 60s. So out the door tomorrow, not necessarily going to need the jacket, but you're going to need the rain gear cuz rain chances do start to increase by that lunchtime hour. We'll then see dry conditions heading through Tuesday and throughout the rest of the work week and really heading into next weekend. Looks like we're going to be mostly dry as well. So if you were planning on heading to a Trash Pandas game, I would go ahead and take advantage of this dry week because Trash Pandas games are known for their rain delays.
