QUAD Alliance Meets in India to Counter China Threat

A key partnership to counter the Chinese Communist Party's aggression in the Indo-Pacific. Now, India is seen as a wild card in this alliance since it refuses to fully align with the Quad or with the China and Russia-led block known as BRICS. But, relations between India and China remain tense since the deadly 2020 border clash where 20 Indian soldiers and at least four Chinese soldiers were killed in hand-to-hand combat. India responded by banning Chinese apps and restricting Beijing's investments. The meetings come as China ramps up pressure in the region with Taiwan reporting over 100 Chinese vessels deploying around the first island chain in recent days. Taiwanese and Chinese coast guards faced off near the Taiwan-controlled Pratas Islands this weekend. Meanwhile, US Marines test-fired HIMARS rockets in Japan last week.
