For autoflowering cannabis plants, apply PK (phosphorus and potassium) boost when calyxes begin to swell, typically around weeks 4-5 of flowering, as this signals the plant's increased nutrient demand for bud development; apply gradually and monitor plant response to avoid issues like orange pistils from premature application.

Mephisto Genetics Autoflowers: Leaf Issues, Strain Comparison & Full Grow Talk
Added:Well, good morning everybody.
Going to do a backyard update walk through slashflower discussion here. Let me give you a ground level update. What's going on here with these photo periods?
That's the Humble Seed Company blueberry cupcake. I don't know what the [ __ ] that is, but it's a big ass bush and I like the way it's growing.
This one here is Sugar Cane by In-House Genetics. It's about [ __ ] 6 foot tall right now. I'm concerned with that.
It's Twin Towers.
Over here we have Golden [snorts] Sands from Humble Seed Company. This son of [ __ ] is finally starting to grow.
It was like stunted for a little while, but it's it's it's doing its thing now.
It's going to catch up.
Then here we have ethos genetics shisha berry cross with marshmallow OG.
And the other big bush there is the same.
So this one, this is the one that had all those twisted leaves a while ago.
And it's you still it still has some.
You can see it there. But generally, they're all looking really good now.
And I guess it's it's uh grown out of its little [ __ ] phase where it didn't want to be outside and didn't like the sun, you know. So So I was kind of worried about that.
But uh but no, it all worked out. So we'll get back to those in a minute. But what I want to talk to you about today mainly is this meto uh here.
It's in flower fully. I put it at about week four.
So, I just wanted to share some information with you guys because for the longest time, I used to wonder like when to hit them with the PK boost.
How am I looking at this plant and know when is the right time to hit them with that PK?
So, I just wanted to kind of show you guys in case Somebody else is wondering the same thing. Let me get a [ __ ] stick.
So, what we're looking for is you see where these pistols are coming out, right? Those come out of callalaxes is what they're called. A callix.
And at some point during flowering, those callalaxes are going to start to swell. You'll actually see them. The plant will stop. Well, auto flowers, you never know. But but they'll generally stop producing so many pistols and those calics will start swelling up.
And at that time, that's when I start going a little heavier on the phosphorus and potassium because I know the plant will use it at that time.
So look for the calics to swell and then dose it and go a little easy at first. Check for plant response. See, I hit mine too hard, too early. I think that amongst other reasons is why the pistols are kind of orange already. It's too soon for that to happen. But not all of them are.
And it's mainly just the tips. The other thing concerning on this plant for the stage of flower it's in is this like little leaf curl and browning that we have going on right here. This kind of [ __ ] But if you look, it's really just the old fan leaves. When you get in close, all the new growth around the buds still looks pretty good right now. So, I'm I'm writing the the old fan leaves off to possibly heat stress and uh reallocation of energy from leaves to buds for the plant.
So, that's a little flower talk right there, man. If you guys got questions or something, post them in the comments and either I'll make another video. I tried doing a live the other day. I'm going to do that again once in a while. So, you guys got questions, feel free to ask.
But yeah, it's been so [ __ ] hot.
I question if this is is sufficient at keeping the root zone cool, you know.
And what I do is I'll come out here at the hot time of day and stick my hand down down in this cocoa mulch and feel the top. It should be kind of soft and moist from from wicking and at least cool. So, I'll just come around do that on all these plants.
See, you know, make sure that that's how I know cuz these [ __ ] things here that tell the temperature of the of the root zone don't work when they're in the sun. I don't feel like they're very reliable.
Here's my other misto.
That's in flower. This is my favorite smell. This grape Oh, I forgot it was grape wedding force. [ __ ] it smells so good. I wish I could upload the smell in this video. And it's actually chunking up a little bit, but it's kind of getting the least amount of sun between the two autos. So, I think that's why it's slightly smaller maybe than this one. I guess they're about the same.
We'll see.
Mistos, from my experience, they usually don't start putting on real weight till week, I don't know, five to seven, something like that is is what I'm expecting. So, next week I'm going to go ahead and hit them with a little boost on the PK. But here's the up and coming Humble Seed Company, Emerald Fire OG.
[snorts] Um, I put this here just a little [ __ ] insulation area. Hopefully, here's our great wedding force. Again, [snorts] I just want to so you guys get a good perspective on the size of these [ __ ] things. I usually don't have plants this big until damn July. So, most of these are still going to go 200% increase during flower in size.
So, I'm getting a little concerned about that cuz [sighs] you always got to be remember your drying space. [snorts] You can grow these big ass beautiful plants with [ __ ] all kinds of weed and you don't have a good spot to dry it, you're [ __ ] Waste of time. So, so that's all makes me a little nervous.
So, I'm going to get a trellus on this [ __ ] today cuz it's crazy branching.
And I've been traumatized by revs before, so I'm always looking at the leaf count.
That's pretty good. This [ __ ] sugar cane though.
It's got some strange Look how this leaf is. It's four, but it's just got that little finger on the end. This one's only three.
And like the branching seems off to me.
It just doesn't look right. Doesn't feel right. And why would we get these already, you know? It's too early for those.
So, I really hope this thing doesn't go south on me, man. Cuz this is like the biggest one. And I was really excited to to see the results of that.
So, we'll see.
That's a blueberry cupcake.
That's about it. That's the outside update for now. Everything's growing good.
I bought some orca the other day.
Um, it's a micro microbial thing. I'm going to start adding that into the reservoir hopefully to help combat the heat cuz it's always concerning how hot that [ __ ] water gets in there. And these things, I have to water them four times a day right now. Uh they're drinking so much. [snorts] That's like about four gallons of plant a day.
So, uh yeah, it's a lot of water. Check out these sunflowers. I wish my [ __ ] plants grew as fast as these [ __ ] do.
That thing's so tall. It's about 8 feet tall already. And there's plenty more on the way.
Holly hawks. Also wish my plants would grow like those. That [ __ ] thing grows like kelp.
So yeah, that's a nonweed garden.
Uh and you guys have a good day. [snorts] I'm going go ahead and go down and get one done in the creek. Wait till you see what's going on down there. Shit's going crazy. All right, I'm out.
