[00:00:03]In this video, we're going to solve questions that 99% of people get wrong.

[00:00:08]8 - 8 = 0 and 5 - 5 = 0 and 0 * 0 = 0, but this answer is wrong because we didn't follow the PEMDAS rule.

[00:00:19]PEMDAS is a rule I use to know what part of a math expression to solve first. It helps me do calculations in the right order so the answer doesn't get mixed up. First, I do parentheses, then exponents, then multiplication and division from left to right, and finally addition and subtraction from left to right.

[00:00:42]Based on the PEMDAS rule, we first solve the expression inside the parentheses.

[00:00:48]5 - 5 = 0, so the expression becomes 8 - 8 * 0.

[00:00:54]According to the order of operations, multiplication comes first and 8 * 0 = 0.

[00:01:01]Consequently, 8 - 0 = 8.

[00:01:06]Now let's make the question a little more complicated.

[00:01:10]8 - 7 = 1 and again 8 - 7 = 1 and the product of 1 and 1 = 1.

[00:01:17]But this answer is wrong. Let's go and solve it correctly.

[00:01:22]According to the PEMDAS rule, we first perform the multiplication. 7 * 8 = 56.

[00:01:29]Then we perform the subtractions from left to right. 8 - 56 - 7 = -55.

[00:01:37]Now let's move on to the last question, which is very hard and complicated.

[00:01:42]This is one of those very difficult Olympiad questions that everyone solves incorrectly.

[00:01:48]8 + 2 = 10 and 10 * 4 = 40.

[00:01:53]The result inside the parentheses is 6 and 40 multiplied by six equals 240, which when divided by four equals 60.

[00:02:03]But this answer is wrong because we haven't paid attention to the order of mathematical operations.

[00:02:10]According to the PEMDAS rule, we first solve inside the parentheses. 8 minus 2 equals 6, and the expression becomes 8 plus 2 multiplied by 4 multiplied by 6 divided by 4.

[00:02:22]Following the PEMDAS rule, we perform multiplication and division from left to right. 2 * 4 = 8, 8 * 6 = 48, and 48 / 4 = 12.

[00:02:34]Finally, 8 + 12 = 20.
