In Texas primary runoff elections, voters who participated in the March primary must vote for the same party in the runoff, while those who did not vote in March can choose either party's ballot; however, runoff voting has no impact on general election choices, and voters must bring ID and may need to vote at a different location than their March polling place.

What you need to know ahead of Tuesday's runoff electionAdded:
Well, tomorrow is election day in Texas.
It's the primary runoff for both Republicans and Democrats who didn't win their nominations outright in May.
>> ABC13's Tom Abrams joins us now with what we need to know. Tom?
>> Well, it is a big day tomorrow with so many names on the ballots and races that include statewide offices, congressional races, those for county judge, and of course, there's the GOP Senate primary runoff. All of it with a lot at stake.
So, there are things you should know before you head to the polls.
Primary elections in Texas are run by political parties. Democrats have their own ballot. So do Republicans. And if you voted in March, you have to pick the same party when you vote in the runoff Tuesday. However, if you did not vote in the March election, you can pick either side. How you vote Tuesday, though, has no bearing on how you vote in the general election this fall. Whether you choose the Republican ballot or the one for Democrats or you don't vote at all, you can vote for whoever you want on either side in November. Polls are open from 7:00 in the morning to 7:00 at night. If you're in line before polls close, you are guaranteed the opportunity to vote. And remember, you need to bring an ID with you. Texas law requires it. Also worth mentioning, before you head out to vote tomorrow, check your county's election website because where you voted in March may not be the same location where you're expected to vote tomorrow.
