California Governor Gavin Newsom is facing accusations of political favoritism after California awarded $20 million in taxpayer funds to Baby2Baby for a statewide free diaper program. At California prices, that should buy about four packs of Pampers and a single compostable wipe.
Critics are questioning why the nonprofit was selected since its co-CEO Nora Weinstein also sits on the board of California Partners Project, the gender equity organization co-founded by Newsom's wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom.
