A three-angle valve job (30°, 45°, 60°) is a precision machining technique used to create optimal valve seats in cylinder heads for improved engine performance. The process involves grinding the valve seats to specific widths: 75-80 thousandths inch for intake valves and 90-100 thousandths inch for exhaust valves, using form stones to achieve the desired seat angles and dimensions. This technique allows for larger valves (such as 202 intake and 160 exhaust valves) to be installed, which can increase horsepower by approximately 25 HP in a 400-horsepower street car application.
