Gun control advocates cannot prevent mass casualty events because bad actors will use whatever tools are available to cause harm, as demonstrated by Germany's strict gun laws failing to stop car ramming attacks that killed 2 people in Leipzig, 6 at a Christmas market, and 86 in Nice, France, where a truck attack killed more people than the deadliest mass shooting in American history (Las Vegas, 60 killed). The premise that removing one type of weapon eliminates danger is fundamentally flawed because evil actors will always find alternative methods to cause harm, making personal preparedness with defensive tools the only effective protection.

Strict Gun Laws Didn’t Stop This Mass Attack In GermanyAdded:
So, the irony in this story is going to make your head spin. There's two people dead, more injured. A car plowed into a crowd in the middle of a major German city. And before I get into the part of this story that nobody on the other side of the gun debate wants to have, let's get into what actually happened.
>> The two people are dead and two others injured after a car rammed into a crowd of people. This happened in the city of Leipzig, a major German city about 120 miles south of Berlin.
>> You can see the aftermath of the incident there on your screen. NBC News international correspondent Ralph Sanchez is following the very latest for us. So Raph, this video appears to show obviously a very heavy police presence there on the scene. What else have you learned from authorities about how this unfolded?
>> So Vicki Morgan, this is a developing situation, but here's what we know right now. Authorities are saying a little before 5:00 p.m. local time, that's midday Eastern, this white SUV went ramming into a crowd of people in the city center in Leipig. They are saying two people were killed, two more seriously injured. And in just the last few minutes, the mayor updating that the driver, the alleged driver is in custody. They are saying at this point they believe there is no further danger to the public. What they are not saying at this early stage in the investigation is what the apparent motive is. that they are trying to reassure people that they believe that they have the person responsible in custody and that there is no further danger to the public at this time. But you can see that very large presence of emergency responders on the scene there in the center of Leipig. And guys, of course, this is so concerning because there have been just a spate of car ramming attacks in Germany over the last couple of years. You might remember back at Christmas 2024, there was that major car ramming at a Christmas market.
Six people were killed there. And then last year, there were two separate car rammings. One in Munich, one in another city where people were also killed. So, this is something that really, really has Germany on edge and very worrying to see it once again on the streets. Now, sit with that for a second because every single time, and I mean every single time, somebody on my side of this conversation points out that we regulate cars less than we regulate firearms in this country, yet cars kill more people than guns do every single year, or that cars aren't a constitutional right, but firearms are. People laugh. They roll their eyes. They act like the comparison is ridiculous, like it's some cute little gotcha that no serious person would ever make. Okay, cool. Then explain Germany because what you just watched is not some one-off freak event.
Christmas market 2024, six people killed in a car ramming. Last year, two more separate attacks, people killed. Now this and the country with some of the strictest gun laws in the developed world has a problem. And nobody on the gun control side wants to touch it. You want to know why? Because the second you have to admit that bad people will use whatever tool is in front of them to kill people, your entire argument collapses. the whole framework that says if we just take the tool away, we take the danger away, it all falls apart because death is death. I don't care how I'm in danger. I don't care how I might die. Whether it comes by way of a gun, a knife, a fork, or 4,000lb SUV, the potential for harm is the harm. And bad people are going to keep finding ways to commit harm. And before somebody in the comments hits me with the, "Well, the casualty counts are higher with firearms," let me show you something.
This is a Fox News alert. It certainly looks like terrorism. And again, it is France, Nice, France. That's along the French Riviera. The news is breaking, but what we can tell you right now is the death toll is now 73 and expected to rise. Now, it all started when a large truck plowed into a crowd of people celebrating a national holiday, Bastile Day, in France. Uh, Greta, as you mentioned, the most recent report is as many as 73 dead and more than a hundred injured right along the prominade of of English in the in this coastal town, the southern coastal town of Nice. Uh, the truck came barreling through at about 21 minutes past 11 p.m., we're told.
Imagine a large curved uh seapport, not a port, but a but a a beach area with high-end hotels and restaurants all along. A pedestrian boardwalk if you will, a sort of prominade, a main street with a little side street that parallels it. And in that side street, it was pedestrians only. The beach completely packed for celebration of the Independence Day 147 or July the 14th, uh French Independence Day. enormous fireworks shows all over the country, including at the Eiffel Tower. And the estimation was that there would be hundreds of thousands of people at this beach as the fireworks had just concluded. Sun had set maybe 2 hours before and police and pedestrians were beginning to clear the area when this large truck, a lorry as they call it locally, we'd probably call it something like a Mac truck though a little smaller, came barreling through at variously reported somewhere between 35 and 40 m an hour. Reported to have been zigzagging along the way. 86 people killed by one guy with a truck. Yeah.
The final toll on that NICE event was 86 dead and over 450 injured. One man with one vehicle one night. You want to know what the deadliest mass shooting in American history is? Las Vegas. 60 people killed. And that was a guy in an elevated position with multiple firearms firing into a packed concert crowd for over 10 minutes. A man with a truck and niece killed more people than the worst mass shooter in American history. He didn't need a license. He didn't need a background check. He didn't need a waiting period. He just needed keys. And listen, I'm not body counting. I'm not sitting here trying to tell you Vegas wasn't horrific. It was disgusting. What happened in Vegas was [ __ ] ridiculous. And I'll never downplay that. What I'm telling you is that you cannot toolb your way to safety. The premise is broken because the moment you take one tool away from somebody who actually wants to hurt people, they get creative. And when you force evil to get creative, body count tends to go up, not down. You want proof? Timothy McVey. The deadliest act of domestic terrorism on American soil wasn't a mass shooting. It was one guy with a rented truck and a chemistry book. 168 people dead. 19 of them children. Over 600 injured. The Alfred P. Mura Federal Building, Oklahoma City, 1995. He didn't need an AR-15. So, here's where the people who want to disarm you have to face the music. If your goal was actually saving lives, actually preventing innocent people from getting killed, you'd be having the exact same conversation about cars that you have about firearms. And you don't. Nobody is calling for vehicle bans in Germany after multiple ramming attacks. Nobody said ban trucks after Nice. Nobody said ban fertilizer after Oklahoma City. And they shouldn't. That would be insane. You'd be living in a bubble. We'd all be bubble kids. No knives, no forks, no cars, no nothing.
Because all of it can be used to kill somebody. But here's the part the disarmament crowd really doesn't want you to understand. The firearm in the hands of a law-abiding citizen is the single best tool you have to defend yourself against any of this. Okay, maybe not the bombing side of things, but you get my damn point. It gives you the ability to defend yourself against the guy with the knife, against the guy with the gun, against a guy charging at you in a vehicle. Yes, you can shoot somebody in vehicle to stop them from charging at you. The firearm is the greatest equalizer. You don't get to choose how danger shows up at your door.
You don't get to pick whether the threat is wearing a ski mask with a Glock or sitting behind the wheel of a fort. What you do get to choose is whether you're prepared, whether you have a fighting chance. Disarming yourself and trusting that the bad guy is going to play by the rules and not have access to a tool, any tool that he can use to kill you, is the single dumbest bet you could ever make with your own life. Germany is showing this in real time what that bet looks like. And every single time, the answer is the same. You can't ban your way to safety. You can only prepare for the world as it actually is. Now, in my last couple of videos, I've got people in the comment section asking me questions like, "Where can I get that hat? Where's that hat?" It's at shop.mmrcolon.com.
