First Warn Saturday for scattered rain & stormsAdded:
Tomorrow is looking a little bit wetter than it was before. So, to get your weekend forecast all together here right from the jump, we are going to be around 83 tomorrow afternoon. We have an increased rain chance now to a 60% chance, and we're going to be watching a few kind of talk firms. I'm going to walk through that here in just a second, but the first one is in place for the morning rain and thunderstorm activity, cuz it's going to probably be the most scattered to widespread. On Sunday, there's a 40% chance for some morning storms, maybe some isolated activity tries to come in the afternoon, but we will see sunny and muggy conditions with temperatures much warmer around 86°. So, here's what's new tonight in terms of our rain chances. It is trending wetter overall for the weekend. We're now having higher chances for Saturday afternoon and Saturday night, and as for Sunday, the afternoon may take a little bit of an uptick too for an isolated chance for rain and storms. More specifically, here's the breakdown. For the morning, first warn, 60% chance for rain and thunderstorm activity. The afternoon, between about noon and 5:00, brings a 40% chance. So, still the day doesn't look to be a washout, but there's times we're going to be watching. Then we go to Saturday night, Sunday morning, 40% chance for rain and storms through the night, and then maybe a few isolated storms in the heart of the afternoon Sunday, between about noon and 4:00 p.m. So, there's going to be times we're going to be watching, but we know that there's several rain chances.
How much rain could we end up seeing by the end of the weekend? Well, most of us between about a quarter to 3/4 of an inch, but there are going to be isolated pockets of 1 to 2 inches that come out of this. Both afternoons and evenings have the potential to be strong to severe if storms do form. A level one out of five risk on Saturday and on Sunday, both for the same threats.
Damaging winds and hail are the two primary threats. We are not looking at a tornado threat as for right now. Right now, we're dry, we're quiet on our Midwest Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing camera. Here's our radar. We're dry out there right now, and let's get right to tracking this as we go through the next two days. So, here we are at 10:00, maybe a few isolated storms try to build in, but it's not really till about 4:00 where that starts to happen in terms of spotty activity. I do think in the metro best chance is going to be closer around 6:00 7:00 in the morning and then we'll push out towards the east as we go into about 10:00 a.m. Then what's new is the second batch that comes in a little bit stronger along I-70 and then tries to take a dive to the south between about noon and 5:00. So the metro's going to just be on the cutoff for that. We then make our way into Saturday night. So a few evening dry hours are on the forecast but as we go to about 9:00 you start to see these storms pop up. Some of these could be strong to severe and as we go through the night Saturday night and into Sunday morning we see the possibility again for strong to severe storms. By Saturday morning here we are at 7:00 a.m. some lingering activity it pushes off towards the east and then by the time we get to around lunchtime there's that isolated chance that we could see. Can't rule out one of these being strong to severe either but the bulk of the afternoon will be dry. So I know there's a lot going on in the forecast. Will not be a complete washout for either day but Saturday is looking wetter than it was before. Morning temperatures will begin in the upper 60s. Keep in mind rain is going to be around and you will need your rain gear if you've got morning plans. We'll go through the day we're around 68 by 7:00.
There's that first warning place as we go through the morning hours chances continue to remain throughout the day but with the mugginess could feel closer to the mid to upper 80s. It will be muggy as we go through the rest of the week and as we start June on Monday it's hot. It's the start of meteorological summer and 88 is very fitting for that and the mid 80s into next week too. Yeah it's the season.
