How Victims and Their Families are Manipulated

[00:00:00]The most successful abuser is one who can perpetrate their abuse by fraud, meaning those around and even the victim themselves doesn't appreciate or understand that they are being abused.

[00:00:11][music] When there's a grooming pattern in place and there's a longer period of build-up, [music] they can perpetrate more and more abuse over time without the child, their parents, the surrounding environment ever picking up on [music] it. It's that fraudulent aspect that I think comes into play specifically when the person holds some type of position of power. You're not going to question that authority and [music] they can use that to manipulate not just the victim but the people around them.
