In the 2024 Republican primary elections, President Donald Trump's endorsements significantly influenced outcomes, as demonstrated by his support for Ed Gallrein over incumbent Thomas Massie in Kentucky (55-45%) and Ken Paxton in the Texas Senate runoff, where prediction markets showed his chances rising from 65% to 95% after the endorsement.

Trump scores MAJOR WINS across key Republican primariesAdded:
As we come on the air, President Trump racking up more major election wins for MAGA and the America First movement.
This morning, primary election results again showing Trump's powerful hold on the GOP while his new endorsement has already shaken up a key Senate race. And thanks for joining us right here on the National News Desk, America's News Now.
I'm Gian Jeff Coat. It is Wednesday, May 20th, and this morning, President Trump, now a perfect 3 and 0 with his endorsements this election cycle against controversial Republican incumbents, he says, stood in the way of the America first agenda. That includes a group of state senators in Indiana that voters sent packing, who refused Trump's request to redistrict, Republican Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy, who voted to impeach Trump back in 2021, and now Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie, who Trump says was the worst GOP congressman in history. And the president, not done yet, now officially throwing his support behind Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the highly contested Republican Senate runoff against Texas Senator John Cornin. We're going to have much more on that political impact of that endorsement in just a moment. First though, Mark Bole joining us from the live desk with the primary results from overnight. And Mark, really at this point, a Trump endorsement is starting to really look like a requirement if you want to win on the GOP ballot.
>> Well, that's what it looks like. And last night was a good example as we look at the results this morning. Jan, good morning to you. Certainly another big night for Trump backed GOP candidates in their primaries. They picked up some big wins races in Georgia, Alabama, and Kentucky. And starting in Kentucky where we saw Republican incumbent Thomas Massie go down to Ed Galin who had the president's endorsement. The GOP incumbent had been in the crosshairs with the president over the past few months for standing up to the president's policies and agenda. Gal Ryan took home the victory. The final tally, a big number, a big difference here. 55 to 45% over Massie.
>> I will serve this district, my party, and my nation with that same audacity to make a difference for them, their families, our district, our party, and our nation.
>> I have called and conceded the race. Um, we've been honorable the whole time, and we're going to stay that way.
And meantime, these are some of the other top election headlines that we're following from overnight. Runoff races in Alabama and Georgia. This will be for the Republican nomination for the Senate and the governor. Also keeping in mind Trump backed candidates winning in six different states. That's just to give you a bit of a snapshot. We'll stay on top of these races and other developments throughout the day. More election news this morning on our website at the nationales.com.
>> Mark, thank you. This morning, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton surging in the primary election polls after landing that key endorsement from President Trump. Paxton is facing off against incumbent Republican Texas Senator John Cornin in a high stakes runoff and until yesterday, Trump had largely stayed out of that race. The president said his decision came down to one issue, though, and that's Paxton's strong record on promoting and protecting election integrity. In a post online, Trump wrote, "Ken is a strong supporter of terminating the filibuster and very importantly the Save America Act." Ken is a true MAGA warrior who has always delivered for Texas and will continue to do so in the United States Senate.
>> I'm so honored to have President Trump's endorsement. His endorsement, in my opinion, is the most significant endorsement that in my lifetime. So, when he endorses, it has a tremendous impact.
>> I've known John Cornin for a long time.
Um but unfortunately, you know, when when it really counted, Ken Paxton was there for the country, was there for the president, and that's why he ultimately earned the president's endorsement. He thinks he's going to be a better senator. Uh thinks he's going to make a better candidate.
>> And already Trump's endorsement is making a major impact on the race.
Prediction platform Poly Market is now giving Paxton a 95% chance of winning the primary, up dramatically from just 65% this time yesterday. Early voting is already underway in Texas with runoff election day next
