[00:00:02]It's not money, it's [music] not status, it's time. We all want more of it and we all feel like we never have enough.

[00:00:10]Judaism understood this a very long time ago. Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, one of the greatest [music] Jewish thinkers of the 20th century, taught something that changed everything for me. He wrote, "Judaism is a religion of time >> [music] >> and not space. The Sabbaths are our great cathedrals." Other religions built holiness into buildings and stone and marble, but Judaism builds it into time, protected time, set aside time, time that belongs to something larger than what we have to do on a daily basis. The High Holy Days are the most [music] precious gift of time in the entire year. 10 days every year set aside for the inner work we all know we need [music] to do and never seem to get to.

[00:00:55]Who am I becoming? Where have I drifted [music] away? What do I want my life to mean? The modern doesn't give us that [music] time. Judaism does.

[00:01:05]3,000 years ago the tradition [music] looked at a human life and said, "This process of teshuvah, of returning to our soul's purpose, matters enough [music] to set aside time for it every single year."

[00:01:19]10 days from [music] Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur belong to us, belong to you.
