Congress High Command Handpicks Karnataka CM As DK Shivkumar | Leaders Discuss Cabinet Formation

[00:00:00]We're now hearing that DK Survivor Kumar the incoming chief minister of Karnataka is meeting with Rahul Gandhi's national capital. DKS met Rahul Gandhi ahead of his elevation as chief minister. Earlier remember DKS had met with President Ki of the Congress party and also Kri Vinobar. So these hectic huddles that are happening in Delhi is it all about the cabinet? That's the key question.

[00:00:40]There will be a CLP meeting tomorrow at 4:00 at Bangalore in conference.

So our two observers will be coming both the general secretaries administration suaji and our suji both of them are coming and our secretaries also will be there they will conduct with their presence we'll conduct a uh CL meeting and then uh there will be process will be there >> let's get in a word with my colleague Rahul Gautam whom is in tracking All details of the story. Rahul, take us through what exactly is happening. Are we correct to understand that at this point the chief minister is chosen? A new leadership for the Congress party in Karnataka. But his cabinet that also center and that a central be uh Congress leadership has had to oversee all of that as well.

[00:01:46]So now we can say that the chief minister has been uh uh handpicked by by the high command but uh uh that person is yet to be elected as the leader of uh Congress legislative party. he needs to become a CLP leader and then only he can become uh technically uh the next chief minister of Karnataka and therefore you have a meeting of CLP tomorrow 4 p.m. uh in Bengaluru wherein uh all the uh Congress MLAs are going to meet they're going to elect a new CLP leaders Sidra Ramaya would be stepping down from the from there and obviously uh in all likelihood Mr. DK Shik Kumar who have just met Rahul Gandhi uh is going to be elevated as the chief as the CLP and later on he's going to stay claim uh over the government and going to meet governor's uh uh governor's office. So clearly it seems that uh that the decks are already cleared for Mr. DK Shepkumar he he held a series of meetings today.

[00:02:39]He met Malikar Jun, Rahul Gandhi, Casey Venugopal, Randep Jalala and what we are given to understand that a lot of a lot were on the table when DKI Kumar met these leaders. Uh we all know that how a new cabinet needs to take shape uh in the state of Karnataka and therefore we've been informed that the names were discussed for uh you know potential cabinet ministers. Apart from uh this we've been informed that Rajya Sabha elections, MLC elections, all these all things were discussed. Uh I must also tell our viewers that Sidra Ramaya uh is actively pushing for cabinet births for for you know people who have been loyalist for you know to him uh during the two terms of chief minister when he served as uh uh you know for Karnataka.

[00:03:25]Clearly it seems that finally that the you can say that the karnataka thing has been has been sorted by uh Congress party and in a couple of days we'll be having a clear-cut picture about the cabinet formation about the Rajya Sabha candidates MLC candidates and also we'll be knowing what what is the going to be the fate for Raaya whe whether he's going to come to Rajya Sabha whether his son Jatindra would be inducted into Karnataka candid cabinet or whether the other people that he's been pushing are going to be part of uh cabinet. So clearly in a day or two you can say possibly we're going to know uh answers to all these questions.
