The US government has implemented strategic measures to counter the Chinese Communist Party's global influence, including sanctions on Russian oil exports to reduce China's energy leverage, which has created a rift in the China-Russia partnership as Beijing seeks alternative energy sources; this strategic competition extends to other areas including Cuba, where the US has indicted former leader Raul Castro and offered humanitarian aid to undermine the regime's control.

Castro In Cuba Be Arrested Like Maduro?; Thomas Massie Out; China-Russia Crack Just Begins To Show追加:
Hello all you freedom loving people. Big changes may be coming for Cuba as Rubio calls out the state within the state the hidden hand in communist Cuba and the cracks are starting to show in the Russia China relationship as the US recent actions including those in Iran are focused on America's greatest enemy the CCP and Thomas Massie lost his seat to his Israelbacked opponent. Okay, let's get into it.
Yesterday, primaries were held simultaneously in six states: Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. This election was not only a crucial bell weather for the 2026 midterm elections, but it also tested President Trump's grip on the Republican party. The Republican primary in Kucky's fourth congressional district has been dubbed the most expensive House primary in history. Incumbent US Representative Thomas Massie faced a strong challenge from former Navy Seal Ed Gal Ryan who received an official endorsement from President Trump. In addition, Gal Ryan received support from pro-Israel lobbying groups, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, Apac, the Republican Jewish Coalition, and major donor Miriam add. On the other side, Massie faced fierce criticism from President Trump for opposing several of his policies, including military action against Iran and for voting against the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. However, Massie said that he and President Trump agree on 90% of the issues and that he only holds firm to his own positions on matters related to war, unauthorized surveillance, and physical discipline.
Gal Ryan had tallied 54% of the vote compared to 45% for Massie when the Associated Press called the race. In 2024, Massie won the primary with 75.9% of the vote and the general election with 99.6% support and President Trump won that district by 35 points in 2024. Gal Ry in his victory speech vowed to carry the party's agenda in Congress and work closely with President Trump. In another primary in Kentucky, the President Trump endorsed Republican Representative Andy Bar was selected yesterday evening as the Republican nominee for the state's US Senate seat. This election was a primary race for a brand new seat that was vacated by Mitch McConnell's retirement. The winner will succeed the outgoing Mitch McConnell. The Associated Press called the race 1 hour after the polls close. Bar led with 63.8% of the vote. His closest rival was former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who came in second with 28.4% of the vote. Voters in Georgia sent Republican candidates in Georgia's gubernatorial and Senate elections to a runoff. The Republican primary for Georgia's governor is seen as a microcosm of the power struggle between President Trump and the state's political establishment. With the term of incumbent Governor Brian Kemp coming to an end, the seat has become vacant and attracted several high-profile Republican candidates, including Secretary of State Brad Raffensburgger, Attorney General Chris Carr, and the current Lieutenant Governor Bert Jones.
And all of them are closely linked to the controversy surrounding the 2020 presidential election. Everyone knows about the dispute between Brad Raffensburgger and President Trump, so we won't go into it here. Carr, however, refused to investigate the allegations of election fraud that were promoted by President Trump in 2020. But Jones, on the other hand, had participated in the position of alternate electors that was promoted by the Trump campaign after the 2020 election, which earned him President Trump's endorsement. Bert Jones received 37% of the vote and billionaire businessman Rick Jackson came in second with 34% of the vote and Brad Raffensburgger came in third with 14% of the vote. Jackson spent more than $83 million on his campaign setting a record for state level primaries. On the Democratic side, former Atlanta Mayor Kesha Lance Bottoms is the front runner and has received the endorsement of former President Biden. Another competitive Georgia Republican contest is also on its way to a second round.
Several Republicans competed for the Republican nomination to determine who will challenge incumbent Democratic Senator John Osaf in November. Among them are US representatives Mike Collins, Buddy Carter, as well as former football coach Derek Douly. Douly has received Kemp's endorsement while President Trump did not endorse any candidate. The Associated Press declared that Collins and Douly will advance to the runoff. In Pennsylvania, the reelection of incumbent Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro is all but a foregone conclusion. His current goal is to secure a Democratic majority in the state legislature. The Democratic Party has identified four House seats, including the first, 7th, 8th, and 10th districts in the hope of regaining control of the House of Representatives.
Three Democratic candidates who were endorsed by Governor Josh Appiro won their elections, including Janelle Stelson from the 10th district, Bob Harvey from the first district, and Bob Brooks from the seventh district. If the Republicans manage to hold on to the seats in those four key districts, it will deal a blow to Shapiro's political ambitions.
Today, Secretary of State Marco Rubio released a video message in Spanish, speaking directly to the Cuban people, marking Cuban Independence Day. Rubio is the son of Cuban parents who immigrated to Florida 2 years before Fidel Castro rose to power. In his remarks, Rubio described Cuba's government as corrupt and he targeted Groupo de Administration Empressarial SA or Gasea. Gaya is the Cuban military business conglomerate that was founded by Raul Castro in 1990.
According to Rubio, Gasea has $18 billion in assets and it controls 70% of the economy. Rubio said Gasea profits from its control of hotels, banks, stores, construction and cash remittances from the US. And Rubio said Cuba is not controlled by any revolution. Cuba is controlled by GESA.
The only role played by the so-called government is to demand that you continue making sacrifices and repressing anyone who dares to complain.
Cuba is now facing major blackouts across much of the country after its weak power grid failed. And the crisis grew worse after oil shipments from Venezuela to Cuba were blocked earlier this year. Cuba's government and supporters blame their troubles on the longstanding US embargo on new sanctions and on the lack of oil that Cuba used to receive for free from Venezuela. But Rubio said that Cuba's blackouts are not something new or because of the blockade. Cuba has struggled with power outages for many years. Rubio blamed Cuba's leadership for the crisis. This was because billions of dollars were taken by the people in power while ordinary Cubans were left without enough electricity, fuel, and food. So, Rubio announced a $100 million aid package with food and medicine for the Cuban people. But this package needs to be distributed by the Catholic Church or other trusted charitable groups. It can't be stolen by Gasea and then be sold in one of their stores. In addition, Rubio said that President Trump was offering a new path forward between the United States and what he called a new Cuba. That offer was also made directly to the Cuban people, not to GEA.
Fore!
Foreign! Foreign!
foreign Florida.
In response, Cuban Foreign Affairs Minister Rodriguez criticized Rubio for his speech and he said that the foreign aid that was recently offered by the US wasn't rejected by the Cuban regime. He wrote on X saying he keeps talking about an aid package of $100 million that Cuba has not rejected, but whose cynicism is evident to anyone in light of the devastating effect of the economic blockade and the energy strangle hold.
Rubio's message came just hours before the Justice Department announced an indictment against Raul Castro, the former Cuban president. Roel Castro is the younger brother of longtime dictator Fidel Castro. Alongside Fidel Castro and Marxist revolutionary figure Cava, Raul helped lead the guerilla warfare that overthrew dictator Fenio Batista in 1959. Today is a glorious day for the Cuban people. After six decades of tragedy, of misery, of distressed, Cubans will be free soon. And there are no words to describe the joy they feel.
Not only the Cubans on the island, but the Cubans that we represent in South Florida who live abroad, others who live abroad, but we represent all of them all over the country and across the world. I repeat, today is a glorious day for those Cubans who had to leave their homeland unwillingly, the people that we represent in the city of Miami, only because of the cruelty and the wickedness of a group of gangsters, the Castro family, who did nothing but seize the island to turn it into their own business. The Castros are in the business of power, not in the business of feeding the Cuban people on the island. But thank God everything indicates that it's over and that we are at the beginning of the end. Today is the beginning of the end for the Castro family. And just like this poster says it, they they belong to that group of gangsters, the Ayotois, Maduro and he is pending and that will end today.
>> Last week we explained the reason behind the indictment. So I'll leave the link below so you can watch that episode. The indictment was in connection with the Cuban military's fatal downing of two planes in 1996. FBI director Cash Patel was the first to confirm the indictment on social media. Patel wrote on X that other than Raul Castro, five others were charged with conspiracy to kill US nationals, two counts of destruction of aircraft, and four counts of murder.
Raul Castro was charged in federal court in South Florida. The charges come on Cuban Independence Day, which marks the birth of the Republic of Cuba on May 20th, 1902 after centuries of Spanish rule. President Trump released a statement for the holiday. And he promised a new golden age for Cuba and its people. He said that America will not accept a rogue state so close to the United States. Cuba allowed hostile military intelligence and terror operations only 90 miles from the United States. And the US will continue pushing until the people of Cuba regain the freedom their forefathers fought for more than 100 years ago. And I think the Cuban population of Miami and certainly beyond Miami, people that came there that were decimated whose families were ruined appreciate what the attorney general just did today and was just doing now. He's just watching it. So uh we have Cuba on our mind. Very important. It's been a lot of problem for a lot of years and this was a big I think it was a very big moment for people that not only Cubanameans but uh people that came from Cuba that want to go back to Cuba people that want to see their family in Cuba I think this is a very big day very important day they supported me to the nth degree they supported me at levels that nobody's ever seen before and so I think it's a very important moment >> Mr. President, >> what's coming next for Cuba?
>> Well, we're going to see. It's a failing nation. You see that? It's falling apart. They have no oil. They have no It's a failing nation. So, I just can't tell you that. But, uh, we're there to help. We're there to help the families, the people. And again, a lot of those people are related to me in the sense that I've had such a great relationship with Cubanameans.
They supported me at a 94% level. That's a pretty good level. and uh they're you know their their relatives are there. So we we got to on a humanitarian basis we're there to help.
>> So now many are wondering will Raul Castro be arrested like Nicholas Maduro.
>> There's all kinds of different ways that we get them here. The reason why we indict somebody is because we want them here to face justice in front of a jury of their peers. So, how we go about doing that obviously depends on the circumstances in the case and I'm not going to go beyond that, but but we we expect that we didn't indict this isn't a show indictment. This is an indictment because we we expect that there was a warrant issued for his arrest. So um we expect that that he will show up here um by his own will or by another way and go to next question.
>> Shortly after President Trump left Beijing, President Putin traveled to China for a two-day summit with Xi Jinping. Several hours before Putin arrived in Beijing, the Financial Times reported that Xi Jinping said during talks with President Trump that Vladimir Putin would regret his invasion of Ukraine. However, the CCP denied the report. CCP Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jayakun told a reporter, "The information you mentioned does not match the facts and is completely fabricated out of thin air."
This is Putin's 25th visit to China as the president of Russia. Putin's visit follows closely on the heels of President Trump's visit. So people are speculating that this timing is related to the Trumpi meeting. But Putin's aid Yuri Ushikov told reporters on Monday that Putin's visit is unrelated to President Trump's visit and that it had been arranged in February. But doesn't matter when the meeting was scheduled.
What matters is what will be discussed.
Chinese and Russian officials say that the two leaders are meeting to discuss economic and other cooperation and one of the topics would be the proposed power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline. To understand the issue of the power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline, we need to understand what the United States has done to the CCP. In a Monday interview on CNBC, the White House senior trade and manufacturing advisor listed several approaches that the White House took in the past months and stated that they are all targeted on Beijing.
>> Let me run through some of the checklists. I mean, think about this. We have effectively thrown both the Chinese and the Russians under the Donro doctrine out of Venezuela, which is a big deal, and out of Cuba, which is a big deal. And the American Navy essentially controls the straight of Hormuz uh where oil flows not just to China but to Asia. So start with that. We extracted a promise from Xiinping not to uh give any more weapons to Iran.
Now I think your viewers know because they're a sophisticated audience, but let me just run through the check growth. Every ballistic missile that Iran fires on Israel, on the UAE, on Saudi, wherever in the Middle East is fueled by Chinese rocket fuel. Every drone that launches attacks on American bases or on Israel or wherever in the Middle East is run by Chinese electronic components. And if you know your history, Joe, the way we got the Soviets out of Afghanistan was to sneak these Stinger missiles into the Muhajidine.
And basically those are shoulderto-air missile launchers that knocked helicopters out of the sky and and sent the Soviets out and actually brought down the Soviet Union. The Chinese understand that history, Joe, and we do not want them supplying man pads. That's the version of the stinger there. And they promise not to do so. Of course, I'm watching the land routes very carefully because I don't believe that they will keep that promise necessarily.
But we got that as well. Tariffs, we maintain the tariffs. The only way the tariffs have been cut on China, Joe, is by the Supreme Court, not by Donald John Trump. So, we feel pretty good about where we stand. I think the president was generally mocked by the wolf warriors over in China, laughed at as obsequious, this that and the other thing. But hey, the president is a student of history. And what have we learned? What does the president What do you think President Donald John Trump has learned over 50 years of diplomacy with China? It's like what did they do to us? Nixon, Clinton on down flattery.
They use flattery. They make extravagant promises. They never keep their promises. Was Donald Trump turning the tables on them a little bit? You decide.
But I think that uh that story hasn't been told. In addition, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Monday that the Trump administration will extend for another month a waiver that allows the sale of Russian crude that is already loaded onto tankers. Bent said in an expost, "This general license will help stabilize the physical crude market and ensure oil reaches the most energy vulnerable countries. This policy is not intended to help Russia, but to curb the Chinese Communist Party." In the middle of April, Bessant expressed dissatisfaction with the CCP's hoarding of oil. He said that during the Iran war, the CCP not only failed to help alleviate the global oil shortage caused by Iran's blockade of the Straight of Hermuz, but the CCP actually stockpiled even more oil. And the CCP has also restricted exports of certain goods just as it hoarded medical supplies during the CO 19 pandemic. The CCB is therefore an unreliable international partner.
China already possesses strategic oil reserves roughly equivalent in size to the combined oil reserves of the 32 member countries of the International Energy Agency. Yet, China continues to purchase oil. Last month, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the International Energy Agency urged countries to avoid hoarding energy supplies and imposing export controls so as to not exacerbate the worst ever shock to global energy markets. Regarding China, Bant said they've been buying up and stockpiling and they've already cut off exports of many products. On Monday, Vent emphasized that the extension will also help reroute existing supply to countries most in need by reducing China's ability to stockpile discounted oil. Since Iranian oil can no longer be shipped to China, China has had no choice but to turn to Russia or the United States to purchase oil. This is because the supply of cheap oil from Venezuela has already dried up. Xi Jinping is naturally reluctant to buy too much oil from the United States.
Russia has thus become a better option.
In the first quarter of this year, Beijing's oil imports from Russia increased by 35% compared to the same period last year, reaching 31 million tons. Meanwhile, Russia, which has long been subject to sanctions from Europe and the United States, has been forced to lower its prices in order to strike deals with Beijing. The US government's temporary lifting of sanctions on Russian oil effectively allows other countries to compete with Beijing. As a result, the CCP can no longer obtain Russian oil at low prices. This has created a rift in the China Russia partnership, which is no longer as close as before. Putin, of course, would not pass up this opportunity to negotiate with Beijing. He intends to use this opportunity to advance the power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline project. The power of Siberia 2 is a crossber pipeline project that is designed to transport natural gas from Russia to China via Mongolia. There was previously a pipeline between China and Russia known as Power of Siberia 1. Completed in 2019, this pipeline transports Russian natural gas to Beijing and Shanghai. The Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline is another western route pipeline originally planned to run directly through the Altai region into China's Shing Jang. The route was later adjusted to pass through Mongolia and extend to China's more industrialized North China region. However, Russia and the CCP have been unable to reach an agreement on the specific details. With the outbreak of the Russia Ukraine war, traditional European markets have gradually shrunk, leaving Russia in urgent need of new export channels, making power of Siberia 2 an even greater priority. The CCP was also interested in this project, but it wants to gain more from it. Therefore, price is the central obstacle in the negotiations. The CCP is insisting on eliminating the Asia premium. According to reports in the Russian media, the CCP initially offered to purchase gas at a price of $70 per,000 cubic meters. Even though this was later adjusted to $100, it is still significantly lower than the price at which Russia sells natural gas to Europe. However, Russia needs this deal more than the CCP does. So, after several rounds of negotiations, the two sides reached a compromise. The price of gas supplied to China will continue to be discounted relative to European prices with the discount amounting to nearly 30%. Between 2023 and 2025, the two sides engaged in numerous highle exchanges, but the signing of the commercial contract was delayed because the details had not been fully finalized. This was because in reality, China was not as enthusiastic about this project as Russia was. The CCP does not want to be overly dependent on any single country for its energy supply. It already imports nearly 20% of its oil and natural gas from Russia. Therefore, it is demanding a stake in the power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline project. But this is something that Russia is unwilling to concede. In June of 2025, the conflict broke out between Iran and Israel, prompting the CCP to reconsider the power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline project.
And on September 2nd, 2025, China, Russia, and Mongolia formally signed a legally binding memorandum of understanding confirming that the pipeline would pass through Mongolia with an annual gas transmission capacity of 50 billion cubic meters in a 30-year term. However, commercial terms such as pricing and supply details still need to be negotiated further. Negotiations are ongoing and construction on the project has not yet begun. With the balance of power between the two sides having shifted slightly, Putin believes that now is the best time to begin negotiations on the power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline. But some have criticized the US government for extending the exemption from sanctions on Russian seaborn oil, arguing that it gives Russia a breather. However, the Trump administration has unanimously concluded that the CCP is the free world's number one enemy. And when it comes to countering the CCP, Russia is actually a potential partner. We'll soon find out exactly what kind of agreement China and Russia will reach. Putin's official visit began with Xi Jinping meeting him on Wednesday at the welcoming ceremony, followed by talks at the Great Hall of the People in an echo of President Trump's experience last week.
Today, the EU reached a provisional agreement to lift import tariffs on US goods. This could prevent President Trump from raising tariffs on EU goods.
Under the EU US trade framework agreement that was reached last July between Vanderlayan and President Trump, the EU agreed to eliminate import tariffs on US industrial goods. The EU also agreed to grant preferential market access to US agricultural and seafood products and the US agreed to reduce tariffs on most EU goods to 15%.
But the European Parliament has yet to approve the European Commission's proposed legislation to implement the the agreement, which has sparked dissatisfaction in the United States.
President Trump spoke with Vulner on May 7th, and he gave the EU until July 4th to implement the US EU trade agreement.
He warned that the United States would otherwise significantly raise tariffs.
So today after more than 5 hours of negotiations the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union finally reached an agreement. Vanderlean said on X that the block will soon deliver on its part of the deal. The largest political group in the European Parliament, the European People's Party, welcome the agreement and said that it would help prevent a larger trade dispute between the United States and Europe.
